I have nothing but good things to say about VSH. They are nothing but compassionate and reasonable. They have a team that worked with me and my baby suffering from kidney failure, and helped us get the medication I requested for nausea and to make him comfortable in liquid form, flavored like chicken, at the pharmacy across the street:) his favorite. Thank you so much for making the worst situation bearable. Dr. Drake is an extremely empathetic vet. She genuinely understands what you're going through, and feels for her patients. I hope she knows what a difference she makes in the world. As do her nurses and techs. I take my diabetic elderly dog here, and I used to take my cat here as well for emergencies. I trust their compassion and competency.Thank you so much for listening and comforting me as I processed the news in a mess of tears. I appreciate you and your hospital so much.

I spent approximately $30,000 at this hospital over a period of 6 months after a diagnosis of lymphoma for my 6 year old golden retriever, Bruce. My regret is not the expense, but the decision to trust this facility with my dog’s care.I was sold on the idea that I would gain a few extra months with Bruce, and that his quality of life would be good if I were to proceed with chemotherapy. While there were some issues during chemotherapy over the next few months, I maintained a belief that Bruce was getting adequate care and monitoring.Unfortunately, in November, after noticing behavioral changes that concerned me, I brought Bruce into the ER after making multiple calls to the oncologist. She refused to return those calls, though I was told by the desk that I could utilize the ER.After a late evening ER visit the ER doctor, Dr. Chau, released Bruce WITHOUT a single blood test and provided an explanation that Bruce was reacting negatively to his chemotherapy. (This was a miss)I returned home and within 12 hours Bruce was unable to walk on his own. I once again returned to the ER and this time it was determined that Bruce was in need of a different chemotherapy drug to control his extremely high calcium levels. Bruce was released within a day by ER Dr. Collins with a reduction in calcium and considered to be in remission.Unfortunately, I was NOT told that Bruce’s kidney levels were extremely high. (Another miss)After returning home, Bruce went into kidney failure over the next few days while I was clueless as to why he was becoming worse.Once again, I returned Bruce to the ER.This time they realized that his kidney values were critical. . It was at THIS point that I was informed about his dangerously high kidney values from the PREVIOUS ER visit. At this point Bruce was finally treated for his high kidney levels, but unfortunately, it was too late..I was able to get Bruce home and forced to put him down on 12/18 exactly 6 months to the day after his lymphoma diagnosis. His last 2 weeks were miserable. My belief that close monitoring and continuity of care at one hospital would be beneficial, was entirely unfounded, and needless, to say,, the reoccurring visits in these final few weeks quickly reached in excess of $10,000.If I had taken Bruce to ANY other walk in clinic he would have been provided bloodwork that would have recognized his high calcium and kidney levels weeks ahead. Instead, assumptions were made, and dangerously high kidney levels were ignored while my dog slowly perished from kidney failure while technically in remission from his lymphoma..

Our dog had to have nose surgery and we were reffered to this hospital by our primary care vet. Dr. Chris Thompson and his team were amazing, keeping us updated the whole time and making sure our dog was getting the best care possible. The surgery went really well and we are so thankful for the team here. I would definately recommend getting care from Dr. Chris Thompson and his team!

Rude. Tried calling to ask a quick question about my possible cat having a medical emergency. And the receptionist immediately hangs up on me. People are worried and you can at least say sorry we can't help or etc. Nope, just will hang up on you mid-sentence. Will seek somewhere else with compassion

Not great service. They had no idea what my dog has but tested him for things they said would probably be negative anyway and charged for it. They never checked up on my dog and how he was even doing. I had to follow up each time with a week + response time.

If you’re having an emergency they’ll get you in. It is very clear from the get go that money comes first, if you can’t pay, you have no options and they’ll tell you that euthanasia is an affordable option. If you can afford them, which I was lucky that I could, they will squeeze every opportunity to get payment and additional charges that they can. My dog was there for a week, figure $2500 a day in billing, and the BEST part - not a single follow up call after we checked out. Not a text, email or call to see how the dog was doing. I have never received vet services with no follow up. This is a large corporation on a global scale, they are 100% profit driven, and have zero service after the “sale”

My experience here was great, my dog Ophelia had ulcers in both her eyes and Dr banks helped get my boxer totally back to normal! Dr banks explained everything that was going on in my dogs eyes and then explained thoroughly each of the different treatment paths I could choose from. The nurse Jocelyn is amazing, you can tell they love and really care about animals here and aren't just looking to make money. Thank you again!

This is about Dr. Chau .I am so disappointed because I had recommended this place for my friend to take her cat. My friend left there feeling horrible and with her still sick cat. Not all people are rich enough to spend , ten thousand dollars that “should” give their fur babies some extra time. She was told that she should give the cat back to the humane society from which she rescued 8 years ago and they would pay to have her baby fixed, and find another home.I’m know if she had it she would have. As I myself would. They are our babies. This lady was relentless on her having these procedures done, being sent to another facility for four days and so on. To me that would be just to much trauma to a cat who is already in pain and scared. Not mention with no certainty. The doctor should have been kind, sympathetic and supportive when she said she could not afford that. Not making her feel like she was a horrible person. She should have suggested maybe putting him to sleep because of pain. My friend brought him home held him all night while he passed.Shame on dr. Chau.

Gave us excellent treatment last year after our Chiwinnie was attacked in our driveway by another animal that tried to carry him off. In his favor, he was too heavy. They also helped me with a reasonable payment plan. Thank you so!.

This place was a godsend. We were so scared for our Honey when she got into ibuprofen. This is our second dog we've brought here as panicking parents. Each time we come here, we are comforted and such good care is taken of our babies. Dr. Ruffoni was so gentle and informative and did everything to make sure our Honey pulled through. I felt so supported and Honey sends a big THANK YOU!!!!!!

I sadly had to put my sweet precious boy elvis my cat down. it was so heartbreaking saying goodbye but man the staff here is beyond phenomenal. Dr Denise Pham and the entire staff the, comforted us as much as she could. i know its hard on them as it was on us. they send us a sweet card just a few days ago. thank you so much, it made me cry and made me happy to know you care so much about your patients alive and beyond. such a wonderful experience here. i forgot every one else who helped us from the minute we arrived at 2 in the morning for this emergency, to the vet that took our information down as quickly and smoothly as possible while I was crying and couldn't keep it together. but they stayed calm and helped me so much. again thank you from the bottom of my grieving heart. - Adame/ Belleville Family

This rating is solely for Dr. Sadu of the surgical department. NEVER in 33 years of pet ownership have we experienced such negligence and unprofessionalism. The results of crucial biopsy taken during surgery, showing an aggressive form of cancer, were kept from us for 5 days.We brought our cat in for her surgery on 11/6 for exploratory surgery , a drain placement, culture, and biopsy. She had a large unidentified mass that had been scanned and aspirated previously. We were told that as soon as the results came in we would be notified. We never were. After the surgery we were given meds to administer. She did not show signs of improvement so we decided to bring her back 11/8. Dr Sadu examined her and assured us everything looked fine. We asked about the test results and were told that they had not come in but that he was expecting them within the week.By 11/9 the mass had grown in size so we called AGAIN to check on the results. We were told once again that we would be notified by Dr. Sadu once they were received, but had absolutely no communication from him or his team whatsoever.11/10, we came back to have the drain removed and spoke to Dr. Sadu. We again asked about the test results we had anxiously been awaiting since 11/6. He looked my mother and I in the eye and said that they hadn’t been received, but that he was hopeful they would come in by the end of the day (11/10). We went home with NO answers while our cat steadily declined. We were only told to continue with the meds prescribed for a bacterial infection (steroids and antibiotics) as well as pain medication. We expressed how difficult it was to administer these and that our cat was salivating excessively and spitting most of the medication up. We were told that unfortunately this was normal. We received no communication after leaving the hospital at 9am 11/10.By 11/11 the mass had grown the size of an orange so we called AGAIN to ask about the test results and were given the same response. “The doctor will reach out to you once the results are in”By 11/12, we STILL had no answers and NO ONE had contacted us. With our cat still declining and the mass increasing we felt helpless as we watched her suffer, unable to do anything.By 11/13 the mass had grown to the size of a softball and our cat was no longer willing to move or walk and was obviously in pain/discomfort. We made the decision to bring her back in as we still had no answers.Upon arrival we asked again about the test results and demanded answers. We were told that only the doctor could give us the test results, unless we had her checked in and examined by the doctor on site at the time. Without hesitation we did so.Once she had been examined we were told the devastating news that she had a very aggressive form of cancer. Unwilling to put her through anymore We then had to make the devastating decision to put our cat down and end her suffering. That’s when we were also told that the biopsy results had come in around 9 am Thursday 11/9.Dr.Sadu failed to report the results of our cats crucial biopsy, results showing aggressive cancer for 5 days. For 5 unnecessary days we have meds that weren’t helping. For 5 unnecessary days we waited, watching our cat suffer, put her through unnecessary trauma on the car rides back and forth. We were deprived the opportunity of making better decisions for the end of her life.
