Now this happened a few days ago and I was debating on writing this but this behavior is unacceptable let alone for a manger. I was at the front of the store when this happened and this happened between a short asian man and a young lady, both removed their name tags when I asked to see their names because I didn't have my glasses. I was just finishing up my bagging when I hear over my shoulder a man laughing and saying "and yes I sucked his fat dick, and I pictures to prove it, I can't be fired now" and the women laughed. I whipped around and was absolutely appalled and I said to the young man that it was highly inappropriate for work talk and he said he was sorry and didn't mean any harm. I went back to finishing my groceries and then I heard them laughing again! I guess he didn't think I would turn around so fast with my cane and saw him flipping me off with a butterfly tattoo on it and he quickly played it off and pretended to scratch his face. I finished my last bag and said to the young that he should be fired for his inappropriate behavior, and I would like to speak to his supervisor and he said that he was a manager and they're unstaffed. I said I wanted their names and they said they didn't have to and that I was causing a scene and needed to leave or they would call security. At this I just had about enough and I left without saying another word. I am highly disappointed in the service that took place that day and will not be returning to this Safeway until something is done about that young man.

I just left the Safeway at 1655 El Camino Real in San Mateo. First of all I felt the individual was rude because I asked for the fresh nuggets and Chicken Strips he removed the bad Strips with an attitude and gave me some hard Nuggets that should not have been given. SAD!!!!!! I wish I could add a video.

Safeway. What can I say except they use to be awesome, they use to be great, they use to be good...now they're just meh. Yesterday, I brought some pastry to the self checkout at my local Safeway in San Mateo/Foster City. The pastry was from their 1/2 off bin they use to get rid of overstock / dated items. I picked three items from the bin. I brought them to the front to check out. But only ONE of the IDENTICAL ITEMS had the 50% off sticker...the other TWO exact items from the 1/2 off bin were missing a sticker. (see attached) The clerk charged me the FULL PRICE for the two that had the missing sticker when I asked for her help scanning. She asked me if there were other same cakes with a 50% sticker intact. I said yes, there are many. Another clerk walked by and she asked him about getting another TWO cakes for me from the 1/2 off bin. He replied, "Oh, thems cakes been off sale since Tuesday." And he walked away. So, I asked her to take the two cakes off the purchase. And I walked back to the bin myself. I found the TWO identical cakes with the 50% off sticker intact. And brought them to the register where the clerk rang them up for me. I'm so sick of all the Safeway's I don't care attitude and clerks arbitrary 'I don't give a sh**' attitude. Its not the first time this has happened. They should have just rung the items up as they were ALL the same from the SAME 50% off bin AND identical items. Instead of making me walk back and get TWO that had a sticker!! I'm already ringing up my own purchases MYSELF for NO DISCOUNT. Safeway deliberately has only 1-2 cashiers during rush hour? What's that about? To force customers to scan, bag and pay for their items themselves! The lines at the 1 or 2 personal cashiers are always LONG and the lines at the self-checkout short! Safeway is saving money by not hiring cashiers? Making customers do the work of a cashier! How much do cashiers make anyway? By my calculations I should be getting $2-$5 each visit to the self-checkout for the time I spend ringing up and bagging my own groceries!

This Safeway is usually okay. The girl doing the Safeway curb side shopping is so very rude. She almost hit me twice! She cut me off a couple of times and gave me these nasty looks! She needs to be talked to about how careless she is around her surroundings

Wide selection of vegetables, fruits, meats, dairy products, and bakery items. Central location that is conveniently close to 101 and 92, and the large parking lot makes it easy to find parking. Only complaints are: popular items tend to run out fast, and 1-2 of the self check-out machines are usually broken.

I was an avid shopper of Safeway on 17th Avenue in San Mateo. But, I do not shop there or any Safeway anymore. Because the millennial children of Communist people have them stuck on "Woke" and total disrespect of the customer that i received from Safeway employees. I will never buy a single item from this company again. Last time I was there the store looked filthy.

Holy illnesses, today, 8/21/23.... The man behind the register handling your food is so violently ill, he is coughing everywhere. I can't believe they would let him work in that condition around food. He needs bed rest. I can't come to places like this. I'll take a higher price.

Gets very busy near lunchtime. Recommend to do your shopping later or earlier. Makes great sandwiches in the deli. Do not leave anything in your car while parked here. Bus stop directly in front.

Was great except I was given the wrong meal so I only got barely half of what I had payed for. However the staff was nice and they serve alcohol here which was an interesting idea for taco bell. The place was nice and well located. Even though they made a mistake is still go back.

I came in and was looking for a product and I called this lady who was less than 5 ft away from me and she ignored me 3 times and walked away from me. Her name is Rosario and apparently is the manager and with the customer service she provided I will not back here and do not recommend this store to come and shop.
