  I bought my BMW I3 from Horatio after months of research and visiting 8 dealers around the bay. The experience with other sellers as so bad compaired to Select Motors that before Horatio had the car I wanted I had decided that I would wait to buy it from him. Why, because he is very efficient, honest, knows his cars inside and out, and wants a lifetime relationship with his customers. No other dealer I met came close to meeting those qualities. Finally, he had the car! We had texted enough in advance that when it came it we agreed on a price and time to buy via text. I brought a bank check, the paperwork was ready, the car was as advertised, he did not try to upsell me on anything - the whole transaction took 20 min! (On a Saturday, no less.)
  His website is accurate and honest - if you see the car you want, give him a call.

  Buying my Maserati Ghibli from Select Motors was such an enjoyable experience! Horatiu is one of those people who simply loves good cars because the whole process felt more like talking to a friend who wanted me to make the right choice than with someone trying to sell me a car.
  
  He was upfront about all the details, super knowledgeable and genuinely easy to work with. No weird sales tactics, just honest answers, fair pricing and smooth communication throughout. Paperwork was handled quickly and I ended up with a car I genuinely love driving! Also, never expected that pre-owned car showrooms can be this spotless and organized, with some real eye candy inventory!
  
  If you’re looking for a high-end pre-owned car and want a process that actually feels good, I’d absolutely recommend Select Motors and working with Horatiu.

  My daughter & I had a great experience with Select Motors. We communicated with the owner and scheduled an appointment to view a specific car. He was accommodating and eager to answer all of our questions. We test drove the vehicle, he offered to let one of us drive and gave us the option of him driving. No hard sell! It's a small dealership stocked with predominently high end European cars. The transaction was pretty seamless. If you are coming from out of town (we traveled from Sacramento) make sure you bring all necessary information and/or payment methods (personal checks may delay your process). All in all, a great car buying experience.

  👍🏽 As a first time buyer, the whole process exceeded my expectations. The owner, Mr Horatiu, great dude, was very transparent and straightforward with details. He walked me through the car, answered every question, and made sure it was the right fit for me—not just what was in stock.

  I would stay away from this place. The owner came across as arrogant and rude. I’ve been buying cars for 10–12 years and have never once been asked to agree on a price before even test driving a vehicle. When I requested a test drive here, I was told I had to “fix the price first” before being allowed.
  
  I even told him politely that such a demand makes me feel like there might be something wrong with the car. To that, he arrogantly replied, “there is nothing wrong with the car unless you deliberately try to find faults to negotiate.” At no point had I brought up price — all I wanted was a simple test drive.
  
  I had driven an hour just to get there, which in itself shows I was a serious buyer. If that doesn’t meet his definition of a serious customer, I don’t know what does. At the end of the day, I told him to keep all his cars — I wouldn’t want one for free from someone with that attitude.

  Rude and arrogant communicator over the phone and am disinterested in any further inquiries. Buying a car is a stressful experience, and a serious purchase for some people. It is also usually an exciting and fun experience to be had. When a dealer sales person is rude and arrogant, it deters from wanting to do business. Thank you, but no thank you.

  Have been buying cars from Select Motors for over 15 years. Horatiu’s cars are always top notch, selection is great, always have the best options and price is spot on. If ever I have questions or concerns about anything he goes above and beyond to help resolve it. He’s direct, honest and little to no fluff!

  I just had a great buying experience with Horatio at Select Motors. This the place to look if you are searching for a car that is in excellent condition at a compelling price, and Horatio really went the extra mile to be sure that the experience was excellent. It's rare to find someone who is focused on long term relationships AND knows a ton about cars (I can't remember the last time a sales rep at a dealership was able to answer specific questions I had). Highly recommend Select Motors - curated cars and an efficient and delightful buying experience!

  I had an outstanding experience purchasing a vehicle from Horatio at Select Motors. It was a no pressure environment, which was nice after visiting other dealerships earlier in the day. I would recommend setting up an appointment if possible. When Horatio is with a client, he puts 100% of his attention into making the customers experience as good as possible. If you take a chance and show up without an appointment, you may have to wait a bit for him to finish with a client. He will let you know how much longer he will be before he can work with you. You will appreciate it when its your turn, as he will give you all the time and attention you need to make your decision. Cars are his passion and it shows. He wants to make sure you understand all the features you may be getting with a specific vehicle and takes the time to answer all your questions. Horatio was pleasurable to deal with and not your typical car salesman. I would not hesitate to work with Horatio and Select Motors for future car needs. Highly recommended.

  Just purchased a 2021 BMW I3 from Horatio at Select Motors. Couldn't have asked for a better buying experience. He was upfront about his pricing and didn't tack on a bunch of random fees or unnecessary service charges like the other dealerships we spoke to. The price was exactly what he said it would be. He was very easy to deal with, honest, and got us taken care of quickly. If you are tired of all the other dealerships with hidden fees and thousands of dollars being tacked on to your OTD price, then just go see Horatio for a straightforward, honest deal.

  We purchased a vehicle from Horatio and had a fantastic car buying experience. Horatio is knowledgeable, honest and genuinely cared about our experience. We had been to a few dealerships looking for a BMW i3 and Horatio had just what we were looking for in his inventory. He took the time to give us all the information we asked for and then some on our vehicle, its history and what we could expect in the future when it came to warranty work at our local dealership (the car still has 1 year of manufacturer warranty remaining). We drove 120 miles from Roseville California and would gladly make the trip again to deal with Select Motors, San Mateo. Thank you Horatio!

  I live in MO and purchased a 2020 M8 Competition remotely. Experience was excellent. Horatio (owner) was fantastic. Polite, responsive, knowledgeable and patient. Car arrived just as described. Seems to be very honest and was a pleasure to work with.

  Horatio provided a very pleasant car buying experience. He is very knowledgeable about the car he sold to me. He answered all of the questions that I had. And didn't try to hard sell an extended warranty that I wasn't interested in. The warehouse his cars "live in" is clean. The car I was seeking, and bought, was meticulously clean! I loved his parting words to me, "I'm happy this car has found a good home!".
