My interaction with Stephanie (one of the associates in this location) was a total nightmare. The customer service Stephanie provided was so bad that I am even questioning if I should continue shopping from Sephora or avoid the store all together. This is a bad image on the brand.

I interacted with 3 associates in total, and only one did her job.
1. I walked into the store. I asked one associate about one specific item. And she just asked me to go into the middle part and ask somebody else.
2. Second associate was really nice. She helping me to find what I wasn’t looking for.
3. The cashier is horrible. I had 2 gift cards and I ask her to help me to check the balance. She didn’t say a word and just printed the receipts with balance and put them on the table in front of me.
I didn’t ask her to please deplete the card with lower balance first. she scan my item, and just said “click yes”, and pointed to the screen in front of me. So I asked her again:” Could you please use the card with lower balance first?” She said “ CLICK YES!”
I repeated myself ,and she gave me a look and said that’s what she was trying to do.
I feel like I can as a consumer, but got treated like nobody. I’ve been a loyal consumer with Sephora for over 10 years , This is literally the WORST experience ever!

This branch is very different from other Sephora locations. The staff clearly do not have enough knowledge about the products. They never answered my questions, either in-store or over the phone. There are plenty of staff members in the store, but it's hard to find one who is able to help. I live in San Mateo, but I would rather drive further to go to other branches in other cities.

I went to the Hillsdale location at 1 p.m. on May 6, and it was the worst experience. Both of the associates who approached me were very rude. One chided me like I was a child. The other seemed annoyed I wanted to return something. Honestly, I hate coming into Sephora anymore because it's always crowded, most the product is out-of-stock, and the associates act like customer service is an option for them. Sigh. I'll just order online from now on.

Never has what we need in stock, and the staff members aren't very helpful. There were more staff members than customers at various times during our visit, and when we were able to get assistance, the workers seemed rushed. We ended up leaving and getting everything (along with excellent help) at Macy's.

Requested cream samples. The assistant (asian girl) handed me a bag, but upon opening it, the portions were so minuscule that even microbes would ask for more. Hard to comment on this, but the desire to return to this sephora is smaller than those cream samples.

I didn't realise that they were closing when I walked in, but I had a mission so I knew what I wanted and it wasn't a big deal (still felt bad) but they were sweet and helpful even towards the end of their shift.

awful customer service. the workers were actually vile towards my friend who also works at sephora, extremely rude upon checkout and made my group feel extremely uncomfortable during our entire shopping experience. brought multiple coworkers over and were aggressively attempting to correct one of the people in my party. genuinely the worst sephora i’ve ever been to, will never go back.
