Was a loyal customer with Union Bank for decades. However since Union became US Bank, I am now reconsidering other banking options. First, in a parking lot of maybe 40 parking spots, only 1 was open - in the corner of the lot blocked by trash cans. So I circled. Once I entered, there are no longer bank tellers. Instead, there are 2 ATM machines, with a couple bank 'floater' employees. I needed to deposit some cash, which is fine and dandy except for the fact the ATM machine in branch won't accept all your bills. After multiple attempts at depositing my cash with the machine, I waited in line for an employee. Except there's no actual line, so we all just stood in a crowd using the honor system that the first customer would be helped. Oh and by the way, when I first entered, there were a total of 2 employees and 3 customers - then why were all 40 parking spots filled?! Needless to say, banks are cutting costs, at the risk of customer satisfaction. Which is ironic since all these commercials brag about how 'US Bank ranks highest in customer satisfaction' or something along those lines. On to researching credit unions and online banks, where they offer higher rates and you can actually speak to a live person for your needs.

I have never had a bad experience at this bank, dating back to 2004 when it was a Union Bank branch. The office is always very clean, and the staff is attentive and helpful. I have had a couple of minor technical issues with the ATM, but overall I have been very happy with the service here. However, the parking lot is now always full after they gave up half of it, so parking is sometimes a challenge.

Just like their last location in downtown San Mateo, this Bank never has cash. Shouldn't banks be required to have cash to exist? What's the point otherwise....

I had a good impression on this branch a week ago during my walk-in visit for opening a CD account which was handled smoothly . But yesterday about 1:20 pm , I , for the same service, was told I need to make an appointment ahead of time. In addition at this huge size of branch, there were only two persons in charge at that time. It is so inconvenient because I live 7 miles away.

Worst bank ever, employees are nice but operations totally suck. Atm never able to dispense cash and inside the bank you can basically never get a cash advance as there system is always down supposedly because of the building renovation that has been completed over a year ago.

Worst customer service. Unwilling to waive a $7 fee for a 60 year customer. Even though I advised them of my request 1 week ahead of my intentions, both by email and a hand delivered copy of the email sent, they did not read my email and had corporate policies that prevented our church from withdrawing cash from our own account. Then said we could do the transaction on Saturday. Only to find out that, while they will be open, the bank will not have any cash available. So I could not do the transaction. If I had not later asked to ensure someone was there to service me, I would not have been informed that there would be no cash available. Even though they knew what transaction I wanted to complete, they said come back on Sat even though they would not be able to take care of my transaction. Goodness sakes, nothing like great customer service by telling someone to come back and not be able to do the transaction they want to perform. We would have been stuck without change to run out church bazaar. DO NOT BE A CUSTOMER OF US BANK!!!

Formerly Union Bank, US Bank took over this branch eff 5/30/23. Not customer-centered. Dropped in to follow up on a matter & employee said she could not help bc the initial request was made to Union Bank. Clarified that US has now inherited Union's customers. She then answered she could not assist on the matter bc she can only provide letters for which she has a template. I could not believe my ears; should've asked for a higher ranking employee. But was just turned off by her neg attitude & left. Btw their phone system isnt that great too.
