Heads up for anyone doing passport services here—do not come if you’re in a tight window to travel 🚫
We took our kid here to get it done, paid the fee, and the photo was invalid.
When the photo came out, we told them that it looked blurry and we should retake it.
Both workers in charge (someone who takes the photos, another person in charge of the passport application) told us it would be fine.
Here’s a letter from the govt 2 months later saying it’s invalid. 🤦🏻♀️

Super long wait times every time I’ve been here. I’m talking 30+ minutes no matter the day or time. Staff is hit or miss, sometimes super rude and unfriendly, sometimes decent and professional.

This location sucks.
The deliverer only sent the package one time and left the notice.No second and final deliver provide .Have to pick up by yourself.
I don't want to give the only 1-star. If I could, I would give a -5 star.

All of the workers I've seen here are professional. Lisa especially is an exceptional employee that is very friendly and makes me leave in a happy mood.

I tried to cash a USPS money order here and at other locations just for them to deny me at 4 locations. You would think when you give USPS money first and get a money order paper in return. Getting your money back is so hard. This one was the worse service out of the other 3. The supervisor Bali kaur was so rude and refused to help me whatsoever. Would not recommend going here. It is the main branch but as county workers they have to be willing to help and go above and beyond for our people.

Got my passport application done in 10 minutes. There was no wait. Tessa was very nice and explained everything very clearly. She also watches the line, when there is a shortage of staff, she rings the bell to make sure customers are served promptly.

I've been to this post office several times over the past year to handle various tasks (mail pickup, mail forward, change address, etc.) for a family member living in San Mateo. Each and every time the clerks were knowledgeable, efficient and accommodating. Given my generally negative experience dealing with all types of service providers in the area (retailers, restaurants, attorneys, doctors, nursing homes, funeral homes, etc, etc.), it has been a pleasant surprise.

1st visit: 30 minutes to get money orders. I was the first person in line.
2nd visit: some random lady walks up to the counter and cuts line and asks if they speak spanish. The USPS clerk served her even though the first person in line was already half way walked up and had to turn around. Everyone in line looked around perplexed. This wasn't a case of her already being at the counter and having to come back, she wouldn't have to ask the person if they spoke spanish.
If you can avoid the USPS I suggest doing so. They waste your time and move slower than my dead grandmother.
