I didn’t receive my package but it shows as delivered. I went there twice to finally see someone could answer my questions. They simply told me they don’t deal with lost packages.
The package has the mango my uncle took a year to grow. I filed a claim online since I bought insurance. They denied it twice, said anything doesn’t come with price tag they don’t issue insurance. Yes my uncle’s mango is priceless. And I asked for refund of shipping fees as per their policy, denied as well.
I will avoid using USPS as much as possible.

The Asian woman (short, hair updo) worked on 9/27/2024 around noon is very unfriendly, mean, and arrogant, bad experience and I was charged for over 300 dollars , and she said 5 day delivery is not guaranteed, then why you charge me so much money 👎

Not only is this post office so convenient from the Delaware St one, it has the nicest staff working there and they’re hard working at best! Always busy whenever I visit there.

The gentleman that works there is not helpful & an important mail (letter to lawyer) he helped me with went missing, tracking shows it never left the postal office but they can’t find it.

Located in a sleepy part of San Mateo on a street with good old time restaurants and a Japanese grocery store. They tend to not be crowded and give good homey service

This is a smaller sized post office is on a street that has local restaurants, salons, and professional offices. It's cozy and there are angled parking spots available (no meters) that is prone to tickets if you try to do a u-turn on that street.With a smaller branch comes the warm familiarity when doing services there enough times (think Cheers where everyone knows your name and how your family is doing) and it's a nice change of pace in an otherwise bustling area.The post service clerks are all very friendly and you may even get the angry (but loving) Asian scolding if you choose the unnecessarily expensive box to mail your items. This happened to me once and I was highly amused and appreciative that she was able to save me money by helping me choose a different USPS mailer. (To me, the boxes and types all seem the same, yikes!)Environment wise, this post office is on the older side. It is clean though, and well maintained. When you enter the front door, there are rows of po boxes you can rent and on the left there are another set of doors if you need direct service (i.e. mailing, submit a form to a real person). P.S. This post office a pokestop! There are also a number of stops at the street corners on either direction.

Most USPS offices have ratings of 2 or 3 stars, but this one has 4.6 (as of May 2023) and there is a reason for it. The employees here are so respectful, capable and helpful, unlike any other branches. A big kudos to them.

My friends make fun of me for writing yelp reviews for post offices: but someone needs to, especially when they are amazing! The lady who assisted me today, was so helpful in finding me the appropriate packaging for my items and helping me find the most economical shipping method. The experience was quick easy, and there was no line when I walked in. I don't live in San Mateo but this makes me want to save all of my postage projects for when I am in the area so that I can use this post office.

So nice and friendly here. I used to go to the main location on Delaware but now live closer to this location. I really appreciate the great service they provide!
