Camp Roberts Northbound Rest Area is a clean and peaceful stop on 101 in California. The building greets travelers with trees, lovely views and plenty of benches for a food break. Bathrooms are clean and well stocked, and there are vending machines with usual items and stuff for dogs. Covered and uncovered picnic tables give a choice, and there are historic informational plaques and historic markers to read while stretching legs. EV chargers and places to charge EV’s are available. The area has abundant parking, safe and scrupulously clean spaces, and a lot of people milling about, getting water and walking around. It is a recently upgraded pit stop that has a strategic timing for a break from LA to San Jose.
We usually stop up and back to give the dog a break. Nice lawn for that. But For some reason the water in the bathrooms and water fountains always seems to be milky
