“Rodolpho has helped me select mattes and frames for several prints and paintings. He has excellent taste and experience to guide you with colors and finishes that complement your art and bring out certain attributes of the art based on your taste and what you want to bring attention to in your art. I was so impressed by him. I would not let anybody else frame anything special to me except for him! Highly recommend!”

“I have bought a number of Sobu pieces over the years (couch, side table, pendant light, and most recently dining chairs) and adore all of them! While the staff have always been very helpful, I live a little further away now so tend to just order online because I know which pieces I want and their delivery has been speedy and fantastic. Their pieces are incredibly well-made and beautiful and are quietly rugged enough for daily use without showing barely any wear, and strike the balance I love between modern and nostalgic. It's amazing to find a local store that's my go-to for nearly all furniture and homeware I'm looking for, with the added bonus of avoiding big box retailers!”

“Super cool experience. Went on a team building thing and enjoyed every minute. Walked away with a stemless wine glass and something unforgettable. Staff is super cool. If you go, tip! They will walk you through everything. Also, there is some glass on display and I think some for sale but I didn't ask.”

“Great selection of a wide range of art in nearly all the media you can imagine, glass, wood, and ceramic sculpture, prints, paper art, jewelry, and much more, all at reasonable prices for quality craft!

Staff was very friendly and helpful, and it's obvious that they want to be there and enjoy their work!

Will be back soon for more treasures next time I'm in Berkeley.”

“Great gallery filled with great work. It has flat files filled with print work for purchase and an art vending machine and a free art stand so that everyone can afford to leave with a piece of original art. They also do classes and have art studios too. Definitely worth a visit. We’ve never spent so much time in a gallery this size. Impressive and inspiring.”

“I've attended several art-related, community events here. It's a lovely space with a kind owner and friendly, helpful employees.

They sell beautiful, unique gifts from local artists, as well.

When it was time to have my book launch party, I chose here. It's centrally located on a great street with lots of other shops and restaurants, available parking and everything needed for an event, from chairs to high top tables. And Robby, the owner, went the extra mile in sharing my book party with his email list and other contacts. My event was beautiful. I was very happy with it.”

“A true craftsman. Greg put together a “floater” style frame for our painting and we couldn’t be happier with how it turned out. If you’re looking to have something framed by someone with a true attention to detail, do not hesitate to bring it here”

“Dennis is The King. I always enjoy talking with Dennis about the Days of the Fillmore, Fillmore West, Family Dog, and Winterland.
I have made many purchases from his gallery and I trust Dennis to be a man of his word when it comes to the authenticity and quality of these items. Thanks for sticking around Dennis.

“The Berkeley Art Center is a small community art gallery with rotating exhibitions of contemporary art mostly created by local artists.

The gallery is located within Live Oak Park, and is most easily accessible from Walnut Street. The main building contains a reception area with bathroom, door to backyard, and a main gallery. The gallery is a single room with a vaulted ceiling, so it appears quite spacious from the inside.

It's worth stopping by for the free exhibition if you are visiting Live Oak Park while the Art Center is open, but otherwise probably isn't worth a special trip unless there is an event. The gallery hours are limited to Thu-Sun 12pm-5pm.”

“My luck could not have been better than the day I received a beautiful lithograph from Michael Mintzer, and then chose Bob on Michael's recommendation. Bob's experience as an artist was obvious as he easily provided attractive and reasonable framing options. He then blew me away by fast-tracking the job and having it ready for me before I had to leave town for a month.”

“Awesome group! This is youth helping youth ages 16-25 who are homeless find a tiny shelter until they can find permanent housing. They personalize and paint the tiny homes with murals and bright colors to add that little touch of life to make these tiny homes special.

For people living on the streets, they get to a point where they don't feel human and people don't care about them. Youth Spirit Artworks is here to turn that around by building life and spirit into the lives of the broken. Great work guys. You are making a huge difference for many out there. Keep it up! ????”

“Nielsen staff was excellent. They spent careful time assisting what would look best for both art pieces. After careful consideration they discussed price options. Much to my delight the price ended up perfect. And cannot wait to see the framed art.”

“My daughter attended a number of their summer camp offerings when she was younger. I still have a Camp Kala Artist Statement and photo above my desk now from when she was 5 or 6. She always came home enthused by the day's activities, and having her work shown in a gallery setting was quite a boost to her artist ego. Very supportive experience.”

“Came here on a whim...we were visiting from Hawaii. We were staying in downtown SF at the Palace Hotel and walked to the Ferry building. While there, we saw the ferry and said to each other, "eh, let's go take a trip to Sausalito!" We found our way to Scrimshaw Gallery, which was a short walk from the port, just off the main strip. Good looking woodworks from local artisans. Not sure why all the reviews of the grumpy dude with the mustache, but Mike was pleasant and helpful. He was quiet at first, I'm sure just exhausted from the many looky-loos filtering through the shop. Mike was more than happy to share the history of the pieces in the store. There were tons of bowls and great looking, well-made wooden boxes with handsome inlays. In particular there was a bowl, small, really nice markings and designs from the natural wood, that I was interested in. Mike explained the history of it, how it was made and how the unusual naturally burnt rim of the bowl came to be. I was sold! One big problem I had was hand carrying it home...but Mike offered to ship it...for FREE! Of course, I was weary about that because I wasn't sure if it would be intact when I received it...and I really loved this one of a kind piece. After all, it was hand turned from a local artisan who has since retired! But I trusted Mike and agreed to having it shipped (and THANKED him for doing it complimentarily!). I received it in the mail yesterday...fully bubble wrapped in a box...in PERFECT condition! Much Mahalo, Mike!”

“Discovered Ms. Thelma many years ago. Her service has been great, consistently, as long as I have known her. One thing I like about her is that, while, of course, sales are important, she is very concerned about customer satisfaction. I don't live in Vallejo, but when I am looking for African attire, Thelma's African Connection is my destination!”

“The first time I visited the gallery was back in 2016, during a trip to California. I fell in love with Scott Hanson's work (who I was lucky enough to meet in person), especially his bronze sculptures. The gallery staff was delightful and very accommodating. Later on my trip, I spotted a sculpture of the artist on display at Stanford University. Recently, while again in California, I decided to buy one of Hanson's art pieces that I was long desiring. The gallery provided all the support to get everything ready to ship the sculpture internationally (Thank you, Sherry!). The gallery is a must-go place if you are in the area.”

“We are in the San Francisco Bay Area visiting from Singapore. We happened to find this rather beautiful store purely by chance. What a delight: Beautiful items, well displayed and a wonderful friendly and informative woman behind the counter. Items were very reasonably priced and the collection on display was remarkable”
