“There are few things I dread more than having to walk into a post office, except maybe the DMV. I would literally look for every alternative before sucking it up and braving the lifeless, cranky, slow, sad walls of a post office. But then we moved to the Bay Area 5 years ago and just happened to land walking distance to this tiny little gem! Cendon (the post master) is hands down one of the greatest guys you'll ever come in contact with, and his post office runs like a dream. It feels like family when I go in, and truth be told, I LOVE my daily visits! I will one day have to leave this place and I'll miss everything about my post office. It is absolutely one of my favorite things about my time living here.”

“Customer service and friendliness is a good sign of a solid business, this post office has great employees and a positive attitude. They never screw up my mail and always get it there. I run a small business and they saved me many times! Thanks folks”

“I just had my family passports renewed and I could not ask for a nicer experience. They made copies of documents I should have brought, with no fuss. We watched them greet a dozen customers by name. These guys give the Post Office a great name!”

“This is a real post office! Tall guy behind the counter was super nice (sorry bro I didn't catch your name). Also fun stuff in there to look at. Jazz music in the background and scented candles are definitely unique to this post office. Cute place.”

“This is a cute contract post office & gift shop. I can't imagine saying, "a cute post office." But, here we are. The shop is crisp and beautiful; filled with high-end Marin souvenirs I was walking past when I spotted the Mariage Frères tea. I was excited to try a new variety and asked the owner for a recommendation. He gave me some options and let me take them outside to smell them. They were all lovely and I went home with a new canister. If you're in search of Marin swag, this is a good place to look.”

“I didn't know I had so much to say about a post office, but I feel compelled to share our wonderful experience at this USPS! We drove here from San Francisco for our passport appointments, because it was one of the few places in the Bay Area with available slots. Happy to say that parking was easy. For the passport photoshoot, my toddler was scared and crying and trying to climb off the chair. But the photographer lady was so patient and friendly with her, and kept snapping pictures until we got a good one. I might be biased, but the final pictures of my kids are too cute! Next was the passport application process, and I'm like a frazzled juggler with papers and documents and two restless kids. But the clerk was cool, calm, and efficient. He got all the applications together, and also shared some tips and tricks about how to track the passport application status, and what to do if I'm still passport-less 14 days before my trip. He also said he genuinely loved his job, and that it brought him lots of joy meeting people and helping them with their passport applications. Love to hear it!Kudos to the friendly staff at USPS for making this mundane task a delight. If we ever need to do this again, you'll be first on the list.”

“Like most post offices, they're understaffed, but if you go in the off times it's usually quick. Very conveniently located and the staff couldn't be nicer and more personable.”

“This post office is miles above the post offices I have gone to in the east bay. The staff is generally friendly, the lines are usually short, and there is always parking.”

“Excellent customer service at the San-Rafael Civic Center USPS branch. Two USPS employees "Grace" and "Monique" have been particularly helpful and not to mention very patient, considering my bad habit of showing up at 4:59pm (they close @5). They'd have been completely in their right to not help me get my packages out, considering they're technically closed at 5, but they've patiently assisted me despite being at the tail end of their shift. Now let me be clear when I say that I do not encourage, condone or recommend anyone go there at or after 5pm expecting to be helped. That is definitely not advised.42+3'f='4'4 The last thing I need is for their patience to run out sooner than had it just been me that was late. They might start closing exactly at 5 and that would be very bad for me, because I am late very often, admittedly. At least I'm not in denial! Glass half full here, yes. Anyways even tho I'm not technically a USPS employee, I have certain tasks I help out with when I'm there. Like when I'm the last customer inside and someone else tries to come inside, I politeltly inform them that "the Novato branch is open till 6pm. Now F OFF!" Hehe, okay, I don't say that last part, but it would be hilarious to see peoples reactions. Now all my packages are always pre-paid since it's all stuff I've sold on ebay so most of the time I just need to drop them off at the counter, but I'm not gonna act like I haven't stumbled in holding multiple boxes with labels that still need to be attached and I don't have any tape... Doesn't seem too bad until you forget which label goes to which box. I just have to pull out my smartphone and consult with my eBay app, matching each printed label to its corresponding package even though at this point I know it's well after 5 pm... See, its at this moment you think to yourself, "Wow, their patience is just like what yelp thinks of this review; Pretty epic."That's also my que from yelp to "STFU". It means I've "typed too much and should probably go to sleep, it's 4am"...If I go to sleep now I might be able to get up early enough to make it to the post office before 5pm! THAT would be pretty epic.”

“I ship things almost daily for my small business and I have to say -- this is the best, most efficient post office around. And I have frequented many Bay Area locations over the years.”

“Mr B goes to this post office almost every day. The staff is friendly and polite. Only a few people work there, so expect a small line at peak times such as the end of the day. Remember they close for lunch between 12-1pm, and there is only 4 parking spots.”

“Cute lil post office with friendly staff. The man at the front desk was very nice and helpful. Bonus points: It's close to Starbucks and Fort Mason if you want to grab a coffee or walk around.”

“Postmaster Judy Bartlett went out of her way to correct an error made by San Anselmo post office, and Nicoletta is always very helpful whenever I go into the Fairfax office. Huge improvement to prior experiences with some previous employees, and antithesis of the San Anselmo office, which is terribly hostile and continually incompetent.”

“when I forget to purchase stamps, forget to pick up small shipping packages or forget to purchase packing tape I can always stop into mill valley post office and get these items there without the p.o. workers going postal on me at all.”

“I hadn't gone to my local post office until today and I had a great experience! I dropped off my wedding invites - addressed, stamped and sealed. The lady at the counter was really nice. A while later I realized that maybe the wax seal on the invites would require an extra stamp. So I went back not sure they would be able to help me but they did! They retrieved all my invites from the truck they were already loaded in and helped me add the extra ounce stamps! I was really anxious but both postal workers were extremely understanding and friendly!”

“Not sure why this place has bad reviews. As far as US Post Office's go -- this is one of the best. I have a small business and I drop packages here at least three times a week and they are always beyond friendly. I'm a big fan.”

“I loathe going to the post office BUT have had really good experiences at this location. Staff is really helpful & courteous, and they have a fun selection of forever stamps.”

“Absolutely helpful, always pleasant I adore this little post office location in Point Richmond. I find myself here more often than not, and I never have an issue with getting in and getting out in a timely manner. I'm unsure what some of the other reviewers I've read about this location being slow moving, I have not had that experience any time I am here. This post office team is the best!”

“The staff here has always been extremely friendly. I'm here once or twice a week, and they are very helpful with whatever is needed. I've seen a couple instances where people come in mad or frustrated about some paperwork or process, and the staff does a great job of helping them get the information they need (passport renewals, etc). The staff here executes on their job, and will often go above and beyond what's needed. Sometimes there's a bit of a line, but they always move through it quickly and precisely. Glad to be here.”

“I’ve had great luck at this spot. Excellent customer service etc. I regularly drop off packages here without a hitch. Gary is especially concerned with doing things correctly, an asset to the postal service.”

“I popped in to get my passport, since this was the only spot with a free slot. Managed to whisk up a money order right away for my application. A little tip? Be an early bird for your appointment! The vibes weren't all rainbows and butterflies, but I fluttered through without a hitch!”

“Clerk 14 is a calm level-headed reasonable angel. I bought a money order from Clerk 14, my bank refused the money order. I went to the closest post office I could, their clerk told me to write on the money order, my driver license was expired, I just forgot, that office refused to cash my own money order. So I ended up with a $100 piece of trash paper, I live in my car, I got that little bit of cash performing heavy metal songs on 5th and Market. I go back to Clerk 14, I introduce myself to her, again. Clerk 14 remembered me, I only came here 1 time. I tell her the tough situation. Clerk 14 verifies that it is the money order she sold me, she refunds me. Thank you, for the hand up, Clerk 14.”
