I was greeted at the door. Very clean with a good selection, especially clothes. The employees are helpful and kind.

Donation center isn't open consistent hours. Often the gate is shut early in the day. Should be a better way to accept donations. Typically, we will drive to the Goodwill Donation Center in Novato, which is much more consistent in their operating hours.

I had the audacity of showing up to the Goodwill 10 minutes after 2 to donate clothes after Christmas - a nice employee mentioned they don’t accept donations after 2 (why?), but “if you don’t need a receipt just leave them by the back”I walked around the back and there wasn’t a clear place to drop the bags of clothes, so made eye contact with an employee, who with a grimace said “that’s illegal dumping”. “I’m not dumping anything sir, just wondering if there’s any way you can take the clothes - an employee mentioned I could bring these around back”. He then tried to get me to name the person which of course I didn’t and he scowled.Kind of feels like a) bad policy for a Goodwill and b) not the kind of guy who should work for Goodwill.Good news: was able to donate the clothes at Mill Valley Goodwill 10 mins later and a really nice guy made conversation about getting the clothes to someone who will appreciate them after Christmas. Who you hire goes a long way. San Rafael- clean it up. Even if you had just explained policy and sent me on my way with clarity and good vibes, that’s better than “hey you’re breaking the law trying to give us this stuff!”

I don’t know who is pricing your things but your prices have gone way up. Most things can be found at Ross for cheaper and they’re brand new. you have donated speakers that you’re charging $12 for , they’re $6 at Ross! Used shirts and dresses $9.99? They used to be $5.99. That’s a huge increase and a big deal for ppl on a budget. Hope you’ll reconsider your pricing soon or it’s off the Salvation Army and more reasonably priced thrift stores ):

Now that I've had a response from " corporate " my feelings about this place are even worse. There's a guy who shops there every day for the past 20+ years who hoards the few if any remaining items of ANY value. Store manager lets him peek in the back, walk in the back so he can survey what's coming out on the floor, even take out merchandise on a cart. When I complained multiple times that this wasn't fair ( yes I'm aware Life isn't fair) she said if she saw him do these things that she would chat with him. Well I watched her watch him walk in the back room and I pointed to her like, see? Tell him! And she literally did nothing. So why am I writing stuff like this? Because the store used to be cool and you could find a treasure. NO LONGER folks. Greed took over and as I mentioned above, one lonely old customer literally spends all day there and gets first look and first dibs. It's disheartening as some of us have relied on this shop for everyday recycled goods as well as the possibility of something of rare beauty. They only put out garbage... sometimes it's literally garbage. New manager is more concerned with styling the store than putting out merch. Don't waste your time. Unless you enjoy paying $60 for a dirty and fake Kate Spade bag.

I'll keep it simple. Pros: vintage section , well organized, clean , bright, decent selection compared to other locations , lots of household stuff in good condition.Cons: parking is bad, prices are too highI'm still wondering why allowed myself to pay $24.99 for a long wool sweater by a designer I never heard of but ok .

This place used to be so great that I never even shared it. Now, it's super busy and over run by regulars. Just today I saw two of them fighting over something (confirmed they were there everyday by the kind worker who had to break it up). I found some vintage hangers which I collect 9 for 3.99$. Which was a good deal. It's also overpriced like most goodwills. I saw the same sweater I just got new on clearance somewhere else for double what I paid. Hahahaaa time to venture onwards

When dropping off donations, there are two lanes for parking. There is one man who is a pleasant and kind man and I always enjoying seeing him as I drop off. Goodwill is such a great service for the community.Another man was super (u-b-e-r/too much) friendly the first time and then a little bit aggressive the second time. I give you the same tip that I got when I worked customer service in Marin. I would try to be even between visits and customers. (Try to treat everybody the same.)

Nice store, functional internal design, warmly well lit on a colder wintry-ish nighttime, very very nice people and employees, some pretty decent prices for some different items, from clothing, to some eye catching different electronic items here...

I have found good stuff here (mostly looking for clothes) but it is much more expensive than other thrift stores. Salvation Army sells most things for half the price. This Goodwill feels more organized though and the items are usually in good condition (seems like they check them pretty well before putting them out). My biggest complaint aside from the prices is that they still have the fitting rooms closed "because of COVID". This is not a relevant excuse anymore and without a return policy it makes it very difficult to buy clothes. I would never be able to buy jeans here until they open the fitting rooms and I have had to awkwardly try things on over my clothes in front of everyone. I will be much more likely to shop here once the fitting rooms are reopened.
