Being a Realtor in Marin County for over 25 years I have referred countless clients to Graf Van & Storage and they have been absolutely awesome! Time after time the clients contact me after the move and say "Thank you so much Craig, the movers were amazing!" Their crew is experienced, courteous, and do a fantastic job. Having their own on-site storage also provides my clients with some great flexibility if they want to temporarily store some of their items while they have their home on the market. I also like that they're a family owned business that's been around forever. They really know their stuff and it shows. For me, they play an integral part in making sure my clients moves are as good as they can be. I'd give them 6 stars if I could.

We have never used a moving service before so we were very nervous especially since we were on such a tight time frame to be out of our house and get into our new home in Nevada. We met with several movers to get estimates all were very nice and some more punctual than others. Pete was very professional and responsive. We we received a good price from Pete but that wasn't the only reason we selected graf there reviews were also better than others. The move went as smooth as we could have ever hoped for. They showed up on time and had our complete house packed up by 330. They showed up on time at our new home after a day of travel and had everything unloaded by just after noon. All the movers were so friendly respectful and careful and we didn't lose a thing or have anything broken. I would like thank Pete and his team for a job extremely well done and making our lives much easier thank you Joel M

Update (9/18/18): I'm writing another update because I feel it is fitting given the conversation I had this afternoon with Pete (did not get his position; he reached out to me). Pete called me this morning to talk about this same Yelp review and express to me that he did not agree with the sentiment behind it and if we could talk about the circumstances, which I was happy to oblige. I explained to him that the fees and costs associated with the move were not what I was disappointed in, but the fact that they weren't expressly presented to me in a clear and concise manner, and that I felt like they were surprises, even if they were routine charges. I also told him that it would have been appreciated to get a call-back when I first reached out, instead of only getting a call and explanation after having written a review here on Yelp. He totally understood and seemed sympathetic towards my experience. Because I also work in customer service, we talked about the situation as a relatable scenario that we've both faced on a business and a customer stand-point, and we eventually took something away from this whole thing. Pete informed me that he agreed with my complaints, especially regarding the ridiculous 3.5 hour billing for moving my bed, dresser, and cat tree into storage, but wished I had gone about it in a different way, and I then told him that unfortunately, the only way to actually discuss the situation seemed to have been to write a review, and we understood each other's perspectives. Ultimately it was a progressive and enlightening conversation and we both got some lessons in the matter, so this is my final review. I let Pete know that we do understand each other, but that I could not in good conscience remove the entire review since it was my personal experience (and this review would not make any sense without prior knowledge), but I was more than happy to make some amendments to my previous reviews. So, here's a break-down: 1 star for the awesome movers who were friendly, careful, and thorough, and for making sure my move was seamless and effortless. 1 star for Pete getting back to me personally so that we could sort through my complaints (which is what I wanted in the first place) 1 star for making as much right as possible given the circumstances 1 star deducted for what I felt like were hidden fees in the first place ("surprise" charges, in my eyes) 1 star deducted for the lack of communication up until my review got put through To wrap up, I think if I had been given all charges and fees in estimate form so I could better understand the necessary costs up-front, I would have chosen a different company purely based on cost to me and called it good. When I did go in for the initial quote, everyone was extremely nice and they did squeeze my move into a small gap in their schedule, which I very much appreciated; it would have just been a little bit out of my budget given my situation at the time. I guess Graf typically does bigger moves and the small, local move that I had was a bit out of the ordinary (which I did not know until my conversation with Pete). My move itself went superbly, it was just a number of smaller issues that could have been avoided on both sides, and I will take that lesson with me for my next move.

I cannot begin to express how smooth and easy my move from California to South Carolina has been. From the moment that Rich met me at my storage unit, I knew that his family business was the one to trust. Rich's communication was easy and thorough and responsive. His guys were AWESOME on the day of the move. Totally efficient, professional, careful, and a good attitude throughout the day. Honestly, I told my friends and family that the day that they moved all my stuff was one of the most relaxed days I'd had in weeks. I literally didn't lift a thing and they took care of repacking anything that could possibly be damaged. Also, I never felt pressured to sign on with them. To top it off, Rich's sister and brother-in-law (and their dog) were super fun and friendly when I stopped by their office to sign some papers. I wasn't in SC to receive my stuff, but my neighbors said that the 3 person team, lead by Eddy, was fast, efficient, easy and fun. Can't beat that! Thanks to Rich and the whole team.

I couldn't have made a better decision in hiring Graf for my move!! I can't speak highly enough of the crew sent by Graf. Jorge and Charlie worked excellent together as a team and made the hard work look effortless, despite the rain. They were beyond pleasant, efficient, upbeat, considerate, courteous and professional. I will highly recommend them if and whenever I hear of anyone moving. They were the ABSOLUTE BEST!!! Thank you Jorge & Charlie!!!!

I've done six cross country moves over the years and our experience with Pete and his crew was by far the best we've had. The drivers Juan and Rosario were fantastic! I've most often had better experiences when we used United. We relocated to Scottsdale and the crews on both ends were top notch. They were professional, hard working and our furniture and belongings arrived in perfect shape! Moving days are usually hell... these guys made the experience heavenly!

To the owners of Graf. As a van operator I would like to send my deepest thanks to your agency for how I was helped out on 7/30/16. the labor I'd schedualed for a fri move in didn't show and I was in a real bind, the ones scheduled were not from either united or mayflower. Your dispatch was able to get me 2 of the hardest working, polite, and professional young men to meet me in Sonoma Sat morning. My shippers flat out LOVED them, as did I. As an older, (over 60) female , it was heartening to see such well trained, tidy and upbeat young gents in our trade. It's very obvious that your folks are aware that they are a visual representation to the public, and that's a great thing to see from ANY angle. They provided me with knowledgeable and courteous guys to help unload my truck. Also in reference to another review, I know as a mover that every moving contract has a "shuttle truck" proviso stating that there will be an additional charge if standard van line rigs can't access the pickup or delivery location and a smaller truck has to be used. This covers the cost of the rental and the extra labor charges associated with moving the items twice.
