I've been at Pure Barre San Rafael for about 6 weeks and I love it!!!! I do at least 3 classes a week. The instructors and owner, are amazing. I'm 56 yrs old and I can't afford to get injured. The instructors make sure you're using the correct form and the community is great. It's nice to see all different ages and body shapes in the class.

I absolutely love this place. It’s next level. The owner only hires THE BEST OF THE BEST instructors and it shows. All of them genuinely care about your lifestyle fitness and health goals. There is no pressure. Just show up. The owner, Denise, is so sweet and authentic and pours her heart into her clients to create the best experience for them. If you’re looking for a healthy lifestyle community to accomplish your fitness goals with…this is it!

A-maz-ing! Talk about ROI!! One class packs a legit workout. All instructors are trained, encouraging, and professional. I've taken several different classes and have enjoyed every one for different reasons. If you want bang for your buck - financially and kinesthetically, you MUST go!!

I've been coming to the San Rafael studio for almost 7yrs now and it's my absolute favorite workout. I've worked out my whole life from running, to weights, to pilates to yoga. And I just find I always have the best time at Pure Barre and notice the best results. The teachers are all amazing! They are uplifting and go out of their way to help make sure your form is correct and always give you different options if you have an injury. I was able to do mostly everything pregnant and even if I couldn't they gave me another exercise during that time. And the music being "loud" is the best part :) nothing better than breaking a sweat to some good tunes

I had an emergency happen and I had purchased 14 classes . They would not refund me or allow me to use the classes when I could . I don't recommend spending your money on a place that is not flexible and understanding.

As a paying client and new Pure Barre attendee looking for an uplifting community, I am sorely disappointed by the way the owner/manager Denise speaks to clients here. She has been consistently rude and condescending the multiple times I've come, as I tried to give her the benefit of the doubt. However, I will not be coming back here. The other instructors here are amazing, it's a shame the owner/manager doesn't hold herself with the same kindness, client focus, and sense of customer service.

Be aware of their free intro classes, and their membership agreement. Got a free class, were having a trial membership, my understanding one month 4 classes total for $89.00 They required before I start, to sign a liability in case of accident, etc. That is the "only" thing I signed. I gave them my chard to charge for the month, period. Then I was notified when I'm going to go to class again. I said I was not interested in continuing. That's when I was advised that I supposedly signed up for 3 a month membership! and they made an unauthorized charge on my card extra month. I asked to be refunded they refused they claim that I signed 3 month membership which at that time oh, they send my what I actually signed??? No way. I am now disputing the charge with my bank which will take 90 days. Please be aware!!

About 7 years ago I was looking through the window of Pure Barre, watching my girlfriend and our two grown daughters, seemingly doing very little, and I'm thinking "what's so hard about that?" When I mentioned that to them after class, one of them said with a grin, "ok then, why don't you try it?" As a competitive swimmer, I thought "piece of cake!", and signed up for my first class. Talk about a humbling experience. Every muscle in my body was tired, but I was hooked! I find it a great balance to my swimming, and I really think more guys should try it! And, after taking more than 1000 classes, I can tell you it's always an amazing workout!

I've had some really great classes here. I stopped going, though, about a year ago because several of the instructors were playing the music super loud (and I like loud music, so this was REALLY loud) and then, to make up for it, they had to yell into the mic. Twice I actually asked if they might turn the music down a bit because I thought they just didn't realize how loud it was. I asked Kristen and she just ignored me (sort of smiled and then didn't say anything and went on with the class). It was so strange. I also asked Denise a few weeks later, who is usually great, and she also seemed put out, went over and turned down the music just the tiniest bit, and then proceeded with class and said nothing to me or even acknowledged she heard me. I thought I had asked really nicely but I obviously offended them both. I've tried the earplugs and they don't help much. I'm not sure what was more disconcerting the noise or how I was responded to. In any case, it turned the experience from a lovely, grounding class to a place where I felt extremely uncomfortable on a few levels. It's a bummer, but I've returned to Dailey Method because although it's farther away, it is much more client-friendly and much more grounding of an experience. I do love Barre, but I partially love it because of how it gets me back into my body. I don't feel that when the music is at top-volume.

Love PureBarre! The teachers are wonderful & the environment is so inviting. The classes are great for toning, burning and strengthening. Increasing the strength of my abs and back muscles has helped tremendously with the back pain I experienced before joining. If you’ve been thinking about joining, give it a try! I was hesitant at first too but now so glad I did.

I went to the foundations class since I have never taken a class here. I was very impressed with the studio itself and the instructors. Victoria taught the class and I was the only one which was perfect for a first timer. Samantha was at the front desk and also extremely helpful in talking about the studio and the methodology. I essentially had a private lesson. I am 69 years old and have been doing Bikram yoga for 12 years. I am in relatively good shape for my age. I've also had bilateral hip and bilateral shoulder replacements as well as spinal surgeries. During the class I had to make modifications since I am advised to not have full weight bearing on my shoulders. It was a challenging class. I expect to be very sore tomorrow. I am evaluating whether barre is in my best interest given my body. I can say the practice and what I saw was impressive. I recommend you check it out for yourself.

It's been a month now since I enrolled here. I took Madeline's Empower class today and it was excellent. Madeline was very skilled at communicating modifications and providing adjustments when needed. My only two small tweaks to this studio is to have mirrors on both sides so you monitor your posture, etc. Also, the music is a little loud sometimes and you can't hear the instructions (even with headsets on the teachers). Overall, I'm glad I found 3 instructors I like so much: Denise, Rachel and Madeline. ALSO, a shout out to Jordan who was so helpful and encouraging when I signed up.
