The WORST rental service I have ever had. Gave me a huge Grand Cherokee SUV and I called to see if I could pick up smaller car .... They said yes and drove next day 20 minutes each way and only had pick ups... on return, they would not drive me 1.2 miles to pick up my car in the shop "due to Covid". Really??? Front desk employees had been there 2 days/other employee one day.... That says it all!!!!

They overcharged me. This review is for Budget Rental Car. At the time of rental, they quoted $32/day for a mid-sized car but then charged my credit card $50/day after I returned the car (full of gas and no damage). The desk clerk couldn't explain why and had no discretion--totally unhelpful. I called the manager who never called back. Had to dispute the charge with my credit card company to make it right. Not worth the hassle next time.

DO NOT TRUST Them. They confirmed reservation for a moving truck two weeks in advance. Said they had all sizes. Then two days before move they call and say they have no trucks available. Called their corporate support who said they would have inventory manager call me that day or next morning. Never called. Called them again and they said they would tell inventory manager it was urgent. Never called me again. When I asked one of their branch reps how they could make reservations and not have trucks, he said their system sucks. This company is a joke and should never be trusted. I’m stuck with all my moving arrangements set and no truck of any size available. Will be seeing what I can do to show them they can’t run a business that people depend on like this including legal action and negative publicity.

In 13 years of writing Yelp reviews, this will be my 7th 1-star review because the experience was truly atrocious. Here's what happened: * Made a reservation 3 months in advance * Received confirmation at time of reservation plus a reminder the week of pick-up * On the DAY OF the reservation, got a phone call saying they had NO TRUCKS on the lot and "good luck" * The next day, they charged me a $75 "no show" fee Not only did they mess up, they tried to gouge me for their issues. What a joke. DO NOT BOOK WITH BUDGET TRUCK RENTAL. When I had to quickly pivot to another rental company, they were accurate AND had competitive pricing.

I had to rent a car as my van had to be in a shop for two days. The check in process at Budget was smooth and fast. However, the car not so much. First, the car was dirty from the outside. Bird droppings and dirt was all over the car, so I had to take it for a quick rinse. Also, there was a strong cigarette odor that lingered. At first I didn't smell it as much as I had my facial mask on. I thought the car needed to be aired out. So, I aired out the car while driving and when I arrived home. But, the odor lingered. It was becoming unbearable that I had to purchase an air freshener. Not sure why they didn't fix the odor issue, as I saw a note on the wall that read that if the rental had a strong odor smell, they will charge the last person who rented the car $175 for cleaning. I'm wondering where the $175 went to. Overall, I am just rating the good service I received but the car really hampered with my rating.

DONT BE FOOLED BY THE LOW PRICEI made a reservation a month in advance. Told to pick it up on a Sunday @12pm. Arrived to an empty office. Shortly after a very unprofessional guy walked up to tell me they're closed and do not have the vehicle I reserved. He offered a dirty car that was just dropped off. Was nice enough to offer to clean the windshield lol. Basically he couldn't help me. Next I personally try and find another location. Was told to drive 13 minutes (no big deal) to pick up a car. However, was told it would be an additional $230 to get the car I reserved. It took a call escalation before they would agree to not charge me extra. Arrive at the second location in Pleasanton. No one their again. Spend about 20 min waiting outside. Went to put my mask on (covid 19 days) and the lady said it's okay, she already has it. Which taking into account the lady is also washing the cars is a bit concerning to say the least. Regardless this location ALSO didn't have my vehicle. My options were driving to Oakland and San. Francisco. Which if I had faith this was a properly ran company I might have made the trip, but at this point I was afraid what I would run into. Plus this company doesn't deserve my money.

Do NOT rent a truck here. My mothers truck was cancelled the DAY OF our rental. The lady who worked there, who was very rude and unpleasant (her last name was Areola) INSISTED we were told of our cancellation weeks in advanced. We never once received an email, call, or any for of contact notifying us that our truck had been cancelled. Never in my life have I've experienced such rude customer service. I truly am in shock as to how this place is still in business. We had to find a truck last minute, spend much more money, and rush moving all the way to San Diego the next morning at 2AM. This place needs to be shut down!!! Absolutely awful.

I will never use Budget again. For such a big company they have major logistics issues. They cancelled my reservation with less than 24 hours notice. They literally said good luck and call customer service. So rude and will never let any friends or family use them. So thankful for UHAUL for saving the day!

DO NOT RENT FROM THESE MORONS! I wish I would have read reviews before booking with this Budget truck rental. They called me late in the afternoon the day before my move to tell me they did not have a truck for me. Some teenage sounding girl said my choices were 1) to cancel my reservation, or 2) to call around and find myself a truck elsewhere. I was livid!!!! First of all, aren't YOU canceling the reservation by telling me YOU don't have a truck for me??? When I asked to speak to the supervisor and told her why should I be calling around to find MYSELF a truck and told her this was the worst customer service I'd ever had, she interrupted and told my, "Well, if you show up tomorrow we WON'T have a truck for you! My response was, I won't be showing up b***h!!!!

I was really excited when we placed our reservation for our truck for such a great price. Should've known it was way too good to be true. 3 days before I'm set to move, they called me saying they had "no available trucks for me". When I asked them to clarify they said they've known all week that they didn't have a truck for me but needed to wait for confirmation in order to contact me. The lady I spoke with didn't seem apologetic & was unable to tell me why there wouldn't be any trucks available when I had made the reservation two weeks prior. Her only response was "there's no inventory." How can you run a company if you don't have the inventory you're advertising??! U-haul may be more expensive but at least they won't have a problem finding you a truck. Don't waste your time with Budget.

I'd give my experience 0 stars if I could Quick recap: was given misleading and completely FALSE information, was called the day before my reservation to CHANGE the details of my reservation, and was spoken to very unprofessionally. Never going back there again. More details: I reserved the truck WEEKS in advance, and I was called the DAY before the rental date asking to change my drop off location. She promised that we'd get a discount for doing that. Well, she was wrong. We went to pick up our truck, and she's like "no discount and you have to pay for gas" and all. So basically they asked us to do THEM a favor for whatever reason, but they didn't provide any incentive. So we said no, because changing our drop off location was going to be very inconvenient for us. Then she says "this is what we get for trying to help you out. Do you want a truck or not"? So disrespectful and unprofessional. She also said that we'd be able to drop off the truck at any time, and that was false. She ALSO failed to provide some of the paperwork that I needed to drop off the truck. She ALSO failed to debrief us on toll bridge crossing (which, I learned from another Budget employee, was her responsibility to tell us about). Budget San Ramon, I recommend that you treat your customers with more respect and listen to their complaints. Thank you.

So far the best in San Ramon.Hertz on the other hand across Costco here between Danville and San Ramon is the worse.
