“This is a great place to connect as a family to the animals who may or may not go back to the wild....its not a large space to go around but its more meaningful. The people who work here are so passionate about what they do, its awesome to see that and reflect upon how important it is to care for our animals and birds who have gone through pain of losing a body part ...but are cared for...❤️”
“We adopted a second dog with VHS around the Holidays. Fantastic dog, we were not expecting to fall in Love that quickly. She is a year old and brought new energy to our old dog who is enjoying chasing the squirrels again…
The adoption process was smooth and joyful.
Thank you VHS to be the link between the families and the animals.”
“I've been a member now for going on 2 years and buying drinks there and the money i saved, has paid for my dues already. I've also been to the concord location and i prefer the Castro Valley location.”
“We were committed to nursing to give our baby the best we could but it was really hard! Whenever my poor wife tried to latch baby on, "kicking and screaming" was literally the description. He also arched back and used his skinny arms and tiny hands to push away the breast, so much we thought this little man just hated the breast and loved the bottle! My wife continued to pump and bottle feed for 6 weeks. Occasionally, she succeeded in nursing the baby (only in football hold). Then she saw Sylvia. After rocking our baby on an exercise ball and giving him physical therapy for about half hour, she passed the baby back and we were so surprised how soft and gooey his whole body felt. Sylvia explained that is the way babies should feel but often babies' muscles and bones get out of place during birth which makes it painful for them to latch on and nurse correctly. Well, we went home and that night, a miracle happened: My wife tried to nurse him before giving the bottle and he latched on like it was the most natural thing for him. We couldn't believe it! Two weeks after that, that baby boy had grown strong and big and refused any bottles. He only wanted milk fresh from Mommy! Thank you, Sylvia, for saving us so much formula money (we were supplementing since it was hard to get enough milk by pumping) and for being so helpful, kind and willing to share all your experience with us!”
“Went to the Pleasanton Farmers Market before and honestly had such a good time. Picked up some mushrooms, walked around a bit, saw an art studio booth with a bunch of kids artwork — sooo cute. Then grabbed some really good ice cream nearby ?, there was a big grass area that my pup got to hang out and play. More than I expected! Def coming back, such a nice place to just walk around.”
“Didn't go inside I only had an overnight stop. I appreciate being an elks member however this time I didn't get to meet the fine folks of walnut creek.”
“Very nice place to walk my dog. We sit and watch the tennis players. There is a nice park for the kids with water fountains to play in. The memorial is a beautiful tribute.”

“The staff at HAART truly saved my life. I went from being on the street with no shoes on my feet to being totally clean with a career, a home, a car and a family. I don't even want to think about what would have happened had I not been given such amazing support from this clinic. They truly care about you. Dr. Martinez is the best doctor to ever exist and he will do anything he can to get you right. He offered to buy me shoes when I was coming to the clinic shoeless. I even named my daughter after my counselor. (who is no longer there, unfortunately) They are 110% judgement free and I always look forward to catching up with everyone. I went from having to go in to dose everyday to only going once a month to get my supply because I worked hard to have clean drug tests and be the person I was before my abusive relationship sent me into a downward spiral. My heart goes out to HAART! Don't listen to the random negative comments. The people that talk crap are only giving you a one-sided version of events, and are probably narcissistic liars who like to blame everyone else for their own short comings. If you need help, this is the spot.”
“The Junior Achievement of Northern California provides amazing opportunity for the youth to get involved in future careers. Hosting workshops, events, and job shadows the JA is a great way to view different careers, such as a career involving STEAM or business, and to find out what career you are passionate about.”
“Nice facility. This place is in Walnut Creek and is very well maintained. They have several different services to help those homeless people that are in need.
On this day, I need some clothes.”
“This is a great little thrift store located across from Lafayette Park. There is a large variety of clothing, including men's clothing. There are lots of toys for kids of all ages.I went there looking for a choker necklace. However, I found a beautiful bracelet and lightweight animal print shawl. They have lots of helpful volunteers. The profits go to local charities. --”
“Amazing place to volunteer! I've taken groups of middle and high school students twice now and we will keep going back as long as we can! They make everything so easy from signing up to instructions on the day of. It is a really well-run, and needed, organization and totally worth your time!”
“I recently had a very positive experience with the Fall Prevention Program. I listened to a very informative presentation by Michelle and then had an excellent evaluation by Heather. Bob and Carl came to the house for the installation and they were extremely courteous and professional. I feel much safer in my home now and the entire process was outstanding.”
“Great facility for those who need assistant living or 24 Hour nursing
Staff are friendly and professional
Room and board prices are fair”
“Throughout human history religion has been used to compel people to profess belief in the dogma chosen by the most powerful. It seems impossible that a congregation could exist welcoming Christians, Jews, Buddhists, Shintoists, Hindus, Pagans, agnostics, atheists and others, held together with liberal values and love. If you seek a community that supports your free and independent search for truth and meaning, you might come visit any Sunday to see if this one would work for you.”
“A true blessing within the neighborhood.
Great leadership, wonderful community, diverse culture and excellent in teaching and spreading the word about Islam, Quran and Mohammad (push) and his progeny.
The school is a needed addition to this community that provides opportunity to our younger generations and building the future of Muslim leaders.
Alhamdulillah
May Allah bless them and increase their Towfiq and success in all aspects.”
“The Salvation Army does wonderful services for our community. The donations that they collect go directly back to those who are most in need of help. We all benefit by supporting this organization!”
“Be A Mentor is a generous organization that does what it says. I was paired with a youth & have had the great opportunity to mentor someone who clearly appreciates my time & effort & we work together to help him think ahead like an adult & get some additional advantages in life that he wouldn't be exposed to otherwise. Additionally, for those times when I am faced with new & unfamiliar challenges, I have a supervisor-type person to help me think things through & choose the right option to further help the kid. Faith is inspiringly supportive & she makes all of this effort very clear that we are here to help the kids be a better version of themselves.”
“Just signed our son up for Cub Scouts, we came to the store and and the gentleman was super helpful, grabbed everything we needed. The pants didn't quite fit right, so we brought them back for an exchange. Super helpful in swapping them out for us, even found a clearance pair that would work and ended up saving us some money.”
“We are new to St. Philips and so far it's been welcoming, calm, and educational. They are looking for more families to join. Plenty of room for growth in the congregation and lots of classes for adults during the week.”
“Throughout existence, few extremely highly evolved spiritual beings have walked the earth such as the Buddha, Jesus and numerous saints. At the time of their life, there were some controversies, doubts and at the same time many who saw the rare opportunity to be in the presence of such a being. MA Center is the temple for such a being, Amma, whose love seems to be like an eternal fountain, for absolutely everyone - irrespective of age, race, wealth or lack their of, position, etc. She is the true embodiment of self-less love in action, not only to each person who has had the great fortune to meet her in person, but also her endless charitable activities world wide. In a world where values are often forgotten, love has been crushed by greed and division seems to be ever increasing, she is a thread of love, sewing together hearts, bringing values back to life and opening the heart. It's such a gift to have such a center, a temple, carrying her energy.”
“My mom past away suddenly last year at Kaiser Redwood City. The thought of having our moms organs donated never came across our minds until Donor Network met with us. When they told us what their organization does, without hesitation we said yes. Our mom always said “it is more blessed to give than to receive” and we know she wanted this to be her last good act in life. They were very empathetic and comforting through the whole process. No pressure was given on us. They educated us on what was going to happen and always kept us in the loop. Til this day they keep in touch and I couldn’t be anymore grateful for them. They are amazing. Thank you.”
