“My mom past away suddenly last year at Kaiser Redwood City. The thought of having our moms organs donated never came across our minds until Donor Network met with us. When they told us what their organization does, without hesitation we said yes. Our mom always said “it is more blessed to give than to receive” and we know she wanted this to be her last good act in life. They were very empathetic and comforting through the whole process. No pressure was given on us. They educated us on what was going to happen and always kept us in the loop. Til this day they keep in touch and I couldn’t be anymore grateful for them. They are amazing. Thank you.”

“I had no clue about this place but my 6 year old enjoyed seeing different animals. They had birds, a coyote, and a fox. There's even a little learning center where snakes can be seen. They have a bathroom, a water fountain, and a large area the kids can run around in but be sure not too be too loud for the animals.”

“I have gotten to work with, work for, and be a client for Valley Humane and every time I come away deeply impressed by their care, love, and thoughtfulness to everyone coming in their doors, two or four legged. Their facilities are beautiful, their services are exceptional, and their animals are wonderful.”

“We enjoy walking through the farmers market on Saturday's on our way to Cocino Mexico for lunch. Particularly like stopping by Bernal Bakery for a loaf of freshly made rye and a couple of peanut butter cookies, the best cookies we've had, ever. The people working there are quite friendly, like you've known them forever, we appreciate that. Nothing like a friendly community. All though we don't live in Pleasanton we make drive as it's well worth it. We start out our day from Castro Valley to San Leandro for the produce at the Bay Fair farmers market (they have the best selection of produce that we use) then out to Pleasanton for Bakery goodies.”

“I recently had a very positive experience with the Fall Prevention Program. I listened to a very informative presentation by Michelle and then had an excellent evaluation by Heather. Bob and Carl came to the house for the installation and they were extremely courteous and professional. I feel much safer in my home now and the entire process was outstanding.”

“I had the privilege of seeing Amma on her tour in 2018. My son really likes hugs and when I heard about Amma--who is known for many things, including having hugged more people than anyone else in the world--I figured it would be a good cultural experience. My husband, son and I went and it was a wonderful experience. She hugged us: first son, then son +husbnad, then son+ husband+me. I didn't know what to expect but it was quite moving. If you visit when Amma is here, you get an intro video that explains her work (impressive), some meditation (nice). Newbies are invited to sit at the front and you get hugged early on. After that, you can shop the visiting vendors and buy some yummy food they set up outside. The grounds are beautiful too. Try to arrive early. Identify yourself to the greeters as a first-time visitor. Amma's volunteers do lots of interesting things on site when she isn't here: gardening, making food for those in need, recycling projects. They also COOK FOOD AND DELIVER IT EVERY SATURDAY. This can be combined with delivery of fresh fruits harvested from the Amma center. Check out the Food From Home Yelp review for more information on that.”

“I am a client at Lifehouse recovery homes. it's hard to believe all of the opportunities I have had at Lifehouse. Ray Prieto the program director has helped me and countless others not only a wonderful place to stay he has also found jobs for us. It's like living in a fraternity with all of us heading toward the same goal, a sober life. I stay in a beautiful home in a residential neighborhood, right by BART and other public transportation. I highly recommend life house and all that it offers.”

“This is one of the best clinics in the East Bay. They have great staff that are very professional. Mike at the front desk is very friendly and nice he says good morning to most people and and goodbye the doctor is really great and the counselors are phenomenal. They are not legal drug dealers in my eyes they are here to help you.”

“Years ago Books for the Barrios came to my art studio to pick up a generous number of books to ship overseas. They were pleasant, grateful and took everything I had to offer. Samuel B's review seems a little off as most small organizations like this cannot afford a staff and appreciate people making appointments as they are usually working a regular job in addition to volunteering. Their premise is to gather enough books to send to what was it, the Philippines, so that others may learn to read. And have books of many interests. I salue Books for the Barrios.”

“Just signed our son up for Cub Scouts, we came to the store and and the gentleman was super helpful, grabbed everything we needed. The pants didn't quite fit right, so we brought them back for an exchange. Super helpful in swapping them out for us, even found a clearance pair that would work and ended up saving us some money.”
