“From the DELi here, we love the generous Salami sandwich on the Sourdough Roll, heavily delicious tri-tip sandwich on Dutch Crunch bread or Sourdough Roll, Hot Pastrami on French Roll, Tuna Melt. The sammys are stacked so perfectly they stay neat when eating despite being so full of meat & balanced w/ fresh toppings. We always enjoy the fruit bowls & chicken salad & plan to try that on a sandwich soon. Peroshkis available, outstanding chicken teriyaki & rice w/ broccoli & carrots, soups or a nice hearty chili, some Korean specialties, ice cream, Torani snow cones, fresh meats & sausages to cook at home, & to go green garden salads & various salads.
🥫He's got the SAUCE!! Featuring SF Bay Area brand PHiLTY MiLTY'S barbecue sauce, reallll south smoked style BBQ flavor, pickup a bottle to drown some links in! They're all superbly tasty, regular, hot, cherry-pineapple bbq sauce, reminds me of the custom sauces you get around town at the local fam bbq spots
The longtime family owned DELi inside has great fresh food options & He often closes the DELi counter around 5:30 weekdays 2:30 Sat, closed Sunday, located inside the market to Right 🥪🫶🌁 The sandwich shop side has been going since the 50s and has had the same owner over ~20yrs, he's great! Nicely remodeled as well, busy stop for workers at lunchtime or a take-home bite after the workday.
The market there has your snacks, small grocery needs, bevs, and beer too”
“Highly recommended!I bought meet for Passover and I have to say all the family and friends super enjoyed and asked me were I got those beautiful stakes. Also they have so many kosher things to buy and prices are awesome.Service was super .Thank you guys .”
“I purchased a goat shoulder on Friday evening and was pleased to find it was fresh, genuine goat meat. I’ve previously had disappointing experiences in the Bay Area where lamb is sold as goat, so this was a relief. The quality was good this time, and I hope the store continues to maintain this standard.”
“We were told about this market about seven years ago by a resident of Castro Valley. We have gone back many times. We frequent them for their meat market (absolutely wonderful). They have a unique blend of “speciality items”. As a trained Chef, I enjoy going there to purchase any speciality items I might desire.I must be honest, I don’t shop there on a regular basis. I do shop there when I am preparing for a dinner party. I do go there when I desire a wonderful cut of beef, Lamb or Pork.An example is three years ago, I desired a Prime Rib Roast. I desire a specific cut of meat… and a cut that might have been different from what I could get from the local markets.I stopped at Al’s, spoke to one of the butchers, explained what I desired, how it was going to be prepared.I paid for my order and two weeks later, picked up my purchase. I must say, it was one of the better cuts of beef I ever had purchased. Our guests for dinner raved. Generally, In order to prepare great food, one must have great ingredients. Is Al’s market cheap? Nope.If I want cheap, I’ll go to Walmart and make do.Does Al’s market meet a need? Yep, they do.Try them, I’m certain you will love them.”
“Angus the Butcher have a great selection of products. They have great cuts of meat, and they have both marinated and unmarinated options. There are also a wide selection of in-house prepared meals, banchan/side dishes, as well as Korean pantry items as well. Also everyone I have encountered working there are very friendly and helpful.”
“Love this little local spot for both the market and carnicerÃa. I can pick up carne asada steak, chicken, marinaded taco meat, ribs and much more from the butcher. The grocery market is good too because you can also buy bread, canned goods, tortillas etc... it's basically a little local market. The people working the cash register and at the butcher are always very nice.”
“The quality of their arrachera and their costillitas is unmatched. The flavor is there. The tenderness is there. The marbling is there…. It’s ALL there! Price is about in line with everywhere else but I’ll say it like this.. I drove an hour just to get some Yeyos carne asada… how’s THAT for good. GET YOU SOME!!! YOU WONT REGRET IT. BEST MEATS IN THE BAY!”
“Well, Renée! Did a great job getting together my Honey Baked Ham, Kings Hawaiian Rolls, Chocolate Rum Cake, honey infused sauces and more!
She gave great advice and saved my family A LOT of money.
Plus, no line yet, right before Easter weekend. Get over to Honey Baked quickly!
One area of improvement to consider: The hourly cleaning or more frequently, of the bathroom.”

“It is a super market at my fingertips, with items aimed at the Latin public, the staff is friendly and always eager to serve you... the cuisine is very good and with a lot of variety, every day I eat my favorite foods like lentils, very well seasoned. .Greetings”
“Very good, I found everything I was looking for and the small yellow tortillas are my favorites, the vegetables are very good but everything is fresh and the chicken breast is excellent ????”
“We recently had the pleasure of using Sahara Market for dinner catering at our party, and I can’t say enough good things about the experience. The food was absolutely delicious—every dish was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. Our guests kept coming up to us all evening asking who the caterer was, which says it all!
Everything was handled perfectly from start to finish. The planning, presentation, the portions were generous, and the quality truly exceeded our expectations. It made hosting so much easier knowing we could rely on them for such an important part of the event.
I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for outstanding catering. We will definitely be using them again in the future!”
“Excellent meat. You won't find meat with this quality and price in big stores. Some fresh vegetables and fruit as well.
Clean and organized store with very good people. Some items are a bit more expensive than others but overall it is a great store and experience.”
“Cardenas market, my favorite. Spices, meat and milk grocery are double cheap and fresher than in different markets. Unusual stuff to buy (I am not latino). Recommend.”
