Sharing is...great coffee and LOOSE Leaf Tea is better than old bags...did YOU know Alred Pete's men taught the Sbux originators HOW TO Roast beans??? They all three worked in the original Berkeley store 1st!...Howard and friends. So...Great Roasting comes from the Alameda Roasting facilities and reaches your local Peers in great condition and awaiting home brewers or on the go cupped. Mighty Leaf one of the top ten U.S. wide top 4 in NorCal(Marin Co. SAN RAFAEL), adds flavour to all Pete's in addition to their own Tea Master in Alameda! Russian Caravan is back! My fave Snow White (Leopard) LOOSE Leaf.Wait for it, and you'll really enjoy classic Berk Coffee since 62' for your palate. Yes I am a Peetnik. But I go to Phil's (W/C locale), Blue Bottle and many more. This location is just as busy as the Dublin store. Did you know Peers has more in San Ramon than 3rd st. ? Great baristas here. Mgmt gets on the bar sometimes. Better line setup than other locations. Also patio is great position up above traffic.

One person has horrific customer service, which ruins it when the other staff are trying so hard. Won't go back.

I'm going to address two main issues in this review: their inability to handle dietary restrictions, and their employee's inappropriate behavior towards my service dog and me as a disabled customer. DIETARY STUFF I am celiac, and know to ask if the syrup I want at a coffee shop is gluten free before ordering. So I asked, and the barista had no idea. He grabbed the bottle, and I saw it and said "usually that brand is gluten free-- there should be a mark under the ingredients that says gluten free with a little picture of wheat". He looked at the bottle and said "it's not gluten free, I don't see that" and I reacted with surprise. He went to the back and asked his manager and the manager also said it's NOT gluten free. As I was informed of this, the bottle happened to tilt in my direction and I saw the telltale gluten free marker on the bottle: a large symbol of wheat with a line through it, and bold capital letters that say "GLUTEN FREE". It is easy to see. I said hey it says it's gluten free on the bottle. I pointed to the symbol. He was ASTOUNDED. It was just kind of tiring to be in a shop where not only do the employees not know what they even stock/sell, but also have no reading comprehension. Like that was confusing to me. Ok maybe you're new to the job but the words gluten free are RIGHT THERE. SERVICE DOG STUFF Then, the barista looked at my service dog and said "is that a service dog?" I assumed I was being asked one of the "two questions" that businesses are allowed to ask legally. I said yes. He then asked what my dog does for me. I thought he was asking the second of two questions he's allowed to ask. I told him this is my medical alert service dog. THEN--GET READY-- he asked what's my medical problem, that I need a service dog? Now this, folks, is an illegal interaction in violation of the ADA. businesses are not permitted to ask that. I avoided the question because a) I don't want to share my medical history or disability status with a stranger, and b) it's none of his business and a REALLY rude question. Grown adults should know better than to ask strangers (other grown adults) their medical history, and Peet's should not be training their employees in a way that makes them think this is ok behavior. So I repeated he's a medical alert service dog. The employee continued to push, repeatedly asking me what was wrong with me, what my dog does for my medical condition, what my medical condition is, what I need him for. Keep in mind I was very politely trying to communicate that these are not appropriate questions that I felt comfortable answering. The AUDACITY of a fully grown adult to ask this more than once after I repeatedly dodged those highly personal questions!! I felt soooo uncomfortable. The employees there were all nice enough, but this interaction made me feel unsafe, uncomfortable, and goggled at for being disabled. God forbid a person with a wheelchair or something comes in and is accosted by this employee asking dumb questions like "what happened to you" "why do you need that" etc. so inappropriate, and I'm VERY disappointed that Peet's didn't train their employees to know better. I just want to note as well that I work as a teacher, with children. When children ask me these questions (because of course they do, they're children) I say "that's not something I usually tell other people" and then explain jobs that other service dogs do with other people. This is how I interacted with this employee, just with adult words. Here's the kicker: when i do this with KIDS, they respect my answer and move on to other questions like "how do some service dogs learn to do that". This barista didn't get the memo at all, just kept pushing about my medical history, and that really botherEd me knowing that even kids can see this boundary and respect it!

I love Peet's. The rating is to bring attention to the store managers. Guys.. the quality of the drinks is awesome when it is not crowded. But man when it is crowded, good luck getting a proper dry cappuccino. Don't be a Starbucks. I think you will find people who come to Peets have no issues waiting a bit longer to get the awesome drinks we are used to getting

I came to this Peets almost daily for literally about twenty years. It had excellent coffee, good baristas, nice for here ceramic cups and a good rewards program. It now has none of those. Whoever bought the company ruined it. Baristas are not trained to make an espresso coffee. No ceramic cups so generates tons of garbage and the "reward" has become a worthless joke. I just tried to use it - would take me 40 visits to get one free coffee. When this place was good it would take 10. Go to Joe & the Juice across the street. Much better in all aspects. I do not recommend Peets

Terrible matcha lattes. Tasted like pure milk no matcha. They also didn't add sweetener. When I opened up the cup the latte was more white than it was green, what gives? I feel shafted. For nearly $6 for a medium I expect more tea at the very least.

I was waiting for my daughter at herappointment across from this Peet's yawning and yawning so I decided to go get a coffee. As I walked inside, a lady walked out and asked went to order but the lady was like oh the lady just walked out is coming back so I stood back and waited while the lady was asking her husband or boyfriend or whatever he was to her what he wanted because they couldn't text or call or make up their minds before going inside. I waited a little more and she finally came back inside and now she was trying to order for a 100 people it seemed like! I waited and waited some more and walked out of there disappointed and now I'm waiting for my daughter still yawning! All she had to do was take my order of one item and by the time the other lady came back I would've been eating to pick up my drink!

I ordered oat milk matcha ice tea today and they added cow milk. I have been a vegan for a long time so anytime an ignorant tries to serve me puss filled cows milk I can taste the difference. Please stop changing me extra and try to serve me cow milk regardless very unprofessional.

Another really good Peets. Parking isn't bad (stay away from the first two rows next to the coffee shop!), and the service, seating, and environment are all first rate. Plus, great Peet muffins and snacks are second to none.Update: regrettably they now often forget orders and leave you hanging for 20 minutes or more. It takes a lot to flag down the heads-down baristas to get them to make your forgotten drink...

I was craving for peets coffee today. So I placed a mobile REORDER (I like my cafe latte with standard 2% milk + extra hot). I placed order at 4:10pm and was at the shop on 4:12pm for pick up. I heard Barista (lady preparing my late) saying "out of 2%milk" indicating other helper to bring the bottle (didn't realize she will be messing up with my order). 4:13pm she called out my name saying order is ready. I picked up the cup (felt the cup was lighter than usual) - thought it's just me feeling weird so didn't pay attention and left the shop. Sat in the car cautiously taking a sip as I thought it must be extra hot like ordered. But to my surprise it was not extra hot and opened my cup and sadly the cup was half filled with coffee and rest was foam. As much as I was craving for coffee - the service was worst and super unsatisfying. I really felt cheated. $4.70 a cup and half filled was not even $1 worth. Don't know how much that barista was able to save for the store by half cup; on the contrary THE STORE LOST MY TRUST. I am so pi***d of with this experience because as much as I craved for the coffee, got the worst ever.
