Im not giving this a 1 star because this review is not on the store itself and its products, rather than on 1 employee's rude behavior. At check out I went to use a coupon, LESLIE went ahead and told me "I'm sorry but we don't accept 3rd party coupons" I asked what do you mean where on the coupon does it show that you do not accept 3rd party coupon, it was a valid coupon with a barcode and expiration date. She then proceeded to in a condescending way say "It's just store policy I'm not going to accept it, would you be paying by card or cash" so I asked her to show me where in the store it say I can't use it. She says "I don't know". I continue to pay for my things and ask for a number I can call to verify that this is true she gives me a store card and says I can go online and look for the info myself. I asked for her name, got my receipt and as I was leaving I turned to see her and her co-worker talking about me. Well now, I called the Corporate to ask if this "POLICY" was true, and surprise surprise ITS NOT TRUE AT ALL. Melanie, the girl who is helping me with this customer feedback report said Ms. Leslie should have taken my coupon without a problem as long as the coupon was valid with an expiration date (which it did) and a barcode (which it did)!!!! Honestly, I have used coupons here ALL the time, I love shopping for things at Big5 because they always have what I am looking for, but this girl was just not it!!

Well stocked store! Had everything we needed that we couldn't get at other Big 5 stores. The only drawback is, it's a very busy store, and not a lot of Checkers.

My goodness talk about the worst customer service experience! Esther was obviously hating her presence at her job. I have to give it to her though she was doing her job however, She greeted customers as they entered. But it was THE UTMOST unpleasant forced disingenuine greeting ever. I'm glad I wasn't greeted when I walked in the store. Forced communication because it was unfortunate that she encountered my question. Not returning EVER. I would much rather drive to anahiem and spend more money elsewhere then support this store. Which is sad because I'm Al about supporting local and underdogs. Sorry big 5 u lost a loyal customer.

I would usually give this store a 5 but yesterday's service was just not up to par.1st I go to this store for convenience as its closest sports store to my home2nd when I do go its for a specific sport related item.So yesterday's items were athletic shorts with No pockets and Fb ? cleats. (which I fine are pretty affordable at Big 5)So we go in and are greeted by cashier who immediately offers to help, so we take it. But it almost felt like she had a "darn I shouldn't have asked ? type of attitude" as she kinda left us on our own to search for the shorts which we could have done in the 1st place. Where it got a bit more annoying was when it came to getting the cleats...there was no one in shoe dept to help had to go and search for help. When we finally get it, she took a bit in the back trying to find the size we needed. Which they didn't have in the shoe we needed. She hands us a different pair w/same size and walks away. But, now we need another so we have to go in search again. (Look if I could go to the back I would not bother with you all!) So the 1st girl who helped us could not be found. We find someone else and yeah her body language, disposition really said it all no smile...dang U hate helping customers why U working here. Anyway on 3 different occasions we had to go looking for someone to help w/shoe sizes, because instead of them waiting to see what else we would need from the back they leave. It almost seem like the 2nd girl hid for a min, until my son went to ask cashier for help, she says ask someone in shoe department Who? There's NO ONE THERE!! Finally the 2nd girl who assisted pops up...not looking happy but annoyed. WOW!!Luckily we finally got a pair that fit. Honestly they are lucky I was pressed for time otherwise I would have left and went to another store, no matter the distance. Not the greatest experience I've had at this store.Customer service doesn't exist any more and definitely not with a smile.

Excellent customer service from the shoe department employee. She was very helpful. Make sure I was completely happy with my purchase and gave me great suggestions which answered all my problems and prices were even better

Haven't had bad customer service in a minute and my god was this a refresher. I Came to buy swim gear on 04/01/23 . There was 3 employees (young women). These girls CLEARLY didn't want to be there. 1. We asked for help finding a product and verbatim by one of the 3 "although that product says it was delivered to us yesterday. I can't guarantee I will find it for you. I mean, I can call the manager but I'm not guaranteeing I'll find it for you." .... Girl just say you don't want to do your job. As a business owner if I'd seen my employee treat a customer like so....... I need to do a better job at hiring and training. 2. One of the other three was ringing up a customer and was clearly taking longer than she should. I told the 2 other girls. "Hey, can you help your team and help ring up the rest of the customers?" The same girl from the aforementioned "the other register doesn't work!" THE REGISTER WAS ON! I was like "you're kidding right?" We ended up leaving. And let's not forget. #3 . I went to go buy swim gear. Speedos. They didn't have any. Hey BIG 5 franchise. I'll let you in a little secret. It's co-ed swimming season (SPRING). It's sad to see you're not truly invested in the community. Sure, we (Santa Ana) may not be known for predominantly white sports. But there are still swim teams. BE BETTER. smh

Really bad service we went in and the employees quickly looked at each other and sent a male worker to follow us around the store and a female worker was very ignorant Horrible service.

Came for soccer stuff for my son and ended up buying alot of Xmas presents. They things for everyone. Very helpful staff too. Had to come back for more things.
