When I come into SAFCU, I am always treated with respect and I dont have to wait. But when I had a problem with my credit card and tried to report it on the toll free number, I was waiting on a call loop and never got any help. I think it is important to be able to reach someone right away to report a problem, such as a stolen card or fraud. I really think there is room for improvement in this area.

After 30 years with accounts here, having successfully paid off an auto loan in the past, after having a HELOC that converted to another loan that I paid on always through a bankruptcy (long enough ago to be off my credit report) and eventually refinanced, when I really need them today for a $6000 personal loan to replace my engine so I can continue to go to work and pay my bills -- they said no. Awesome, right? (They said they'd consider me for a car loan for not enough money to actually buy a car, with a monthly payment I can't afford instead???) Thanks, SAFCU.

I don’t know how long I have been banking with them, but this is the most easiest and most friendly bank staff I ever experienced, they also help you with what ever they can with almost everything. Do recommending them to everyone.

I have been with SAFCU since the 90's. I have always liked this bank, but in the last year or so they have really gone down. They never notified their customers about the change of hours for Friday's. I can't believe they are only open until 4pm now on Fridays. This makes it very difficult to deposit my check. Banks that were affiliated with them where I could deposit my check, are no longer affiliated, and last time I spoke with someone within the bank, they were rude to me over the phone. I was attempting to pull money out of my own account and was denied twice at two different places. When I called the bank that next Monday, they told me there was fraud at the bank and I was unable to pull money out of my account. Another reason why I'm not happy. Why again was I not notified. I had no access to my own money because the bank itself was dealing with fraud. Communication is key when you are a service provider, especially a bank. I've had many loans through SAFCU, and they were great, but the banking side is going downhill.

Words cannot express my frustration with dealing with SAFCC. Long story short: do not believe anything they say. They are incompetent amateurs.I attempted to open an account in order to obtain a car loan. I have >800 credit score, so was promised on the phone a 1.79% interest rate if I set up direct deposit, opened an account, and obtained a loan >$10k. Great! WRONG.Once I got into the branch, I was told that actually, the rate would be 2.34% as the direct deposit from my paycheck had to have already been set up (I was not told this on the phone) to be eligible for the promotional rate. Oh well, still a good rate, so even though I was frustrated I moved forward.After going into the branch, waiting 45 minutes, then having two follow-up phone calls where the loan was finally approved and we opened my account and I notified the seller that he should expect payment in the next 24 hrs, Alondra called me and said "oh is this car >10 years old? we don't do any loans for that, but you can take out a personal loan at a much higher interest rate..." (the vehicle is a low mileage 2004 Porsche 911). So after wasting many hours of my time and jeopardizing the purchase of the vehicle, the entire process was doomed from the start and could have been avoided simply from the first phone call.Lesson: take your money elsewhere.

SAFCU has superb, top shelf customer service as well, excellent loan rates not found in other institutions. The staff is courteous, proficient and offer friendly, fast financing. I will continue to have SAFCU as my go to for all my financial needs.
