Superior Grocers opened its first store in Covina, California in 1981 and now has over 47 stores throughout Southern California. The store is known as a great place to shop for groceries. Customers say it is economical and efficient, a good place for cleaning, and that they are treated kindly. The store is usually well stocked, though sometimes items like zucchini and brussel sprouts are out of stock. The hot food area is nice; spinach pupusas are available, although sometimes wax paper is stuck on the bottom. The shop is pleasant but a bit pricey, with great pastries and tortillas. It is friendly, family‑friendly, pet‑friendly, offers discount for seniors, and offers Mexican food, tamales, carnitas, candies, fresh ceviche and chicken tostadas.
Groceries are a little cheaper than other stores I shop. They have American/ Mexican food. Have warm food prepared, my favorite is the fresh tamales, bakery.

A clean, spacious, and well-organized grocery store with fair pricing and a solid selection of sale items. Not always the cheapest, but consistently convenient and easy to shop.
