I just want you all to be aware that western union is not a safe way to send money. I have had enough of their lies. They can't tell anything about where your money is when it doesn't show up when they say it will. They money is being investigated or it's still in transition. They said this for a week. They took the money out of my account and then didn't know where it was, so then they told me after several calls that it is being investigated. I only send $35. why would you have to investigate $35? They money took more than a week to get from calif. to Tn. Really!!!!! They lose peoples money all the time and tell you it's tied up in some kind of made up situation. Don't lose your money go somewhere else.

I would give these A holes negative 10 stars if i could... My son was stranded 100s of miles from home, and I tried to send him $4000 transfer for cash pick up, so he could deal with his situation and get home. Western Union took the money, and the FEE ($239.00 ), from my account in seconds. My son was unable to receive the funds as he was told at multiple locations that there is a $2000 per day, per person, limit on cash transfers and that he could not receive this transfer in ANY form. after many calls to customer service ( INDIA ) and being hung up on several times, I was told to cancel the transaction and I would be refunded, never mentioning the fact that... A: They take 7 buisness days to give you back your money (and then only the principal amount ) AND... B: If YOU cancel the transaction THEY KEEP THE FEE ($239 ) With the other option being to wait 45 days, and if the funds are not picked up THEY will refund the full amount. ( its in the fine print ) I could be wrong... but If you collect a fee for a service...then fail to provide that service due to your inability to do so...then refuse to return the fee you are a commiting a form of theft...and in this case possibly interstate wire fraud... RUN WESTEN UNION OUT OF BUISNESS SO THEY CANT SCREW ANYONE ELSE...

I have done business with WU for many years. Until recently my only complaint was that they were expensive. But they were fast and convenient so that is what you pay for. Lately I have experienced another side. They put checks in place for transfers to China because there were some issues with fraud. I wanted to transfer money to my fiancée for a birthday gift. I started about 9 days before to make sure it had plenty of time. Now, a week later, I have spent hours on the phone and her birthday is 2 days away and I have yet to successfully complete a transfer. They ask intrusive questions about my private life and then proceed to cancel the transaction anyway. But not before they have already deducted the money from the bank account I specified. Their customer service is HORRIBLE. The application of their rules is arbitrary and does not take into account the history of the account. When you enter the transaction, it looks like everything is fine. Then, maybe, days later you find out they have held it up. They do not even notify you. This is just about the worst experience I have ever had with a business.

Same as previous reviewer. Nothing against this office in particular, and I don't know what business WU is in, but they have suddenly classified an international transaction of mine as consumer fraud and refusing to allow me to send money to someone that provided a legitimate service for me!! Ugh! So angry!!

Western Union is a disaster. Only automated systems or online. I sent money to Mexico and the bank in Mexico would not release the full amount. Trying to chat and use the 800# help lines was a surreal experience. The 800# gives you many promps - even after pressing 1 for English, and after many more promps, I received a message in French and then the call was disconnected. When I did get through to a person he could not find the transaction by the tracking number or my phone number. When he finally told me I was getting a full refund (in 5-7 business days), he could not confirm the amount because "he already closed the transaction". The chat person; and it must be only one since Akshat OPID 91 came up on two separate attempts, was completely worthless. This person suggested I send the receiver to another agent. Yeah, sure! When I asked to chat with a supervisor I was sent to their 800#. Incidentally, the chat person could only refund the principal, they were going to keep their fees even though the service is worthless. Back to the drawing board. At least until I have to go back after 5-7 business days and find out why I haven't received my refund. Is there any financial service in this s*** hole country that actually provides a service of value without raping it's customers?

Worst experience I've ever had with an employee. Went in to go to the bathroom, saw the employee was busy with customers so just walked to the back. Ended up getting yelled at in front of all the other customers in a very rude way. The woman working at the counter with the dark curly hair clearly was discriminating against me and frankly embarrassed herself.

I have nothing against this particular Western Union, but the company sucks bad! I can't get on the internet nor the app to send money. I've spent so much with them over the years and dealt with that app not working for years! The worst is that I cannot get anyone at WU to help me. They give me a generic answer off of their script in the Philipines. I need to find another way to send money that is more friendly and efficient. How dare they treat a long time, loyal customer with such little respect.
