The retinal technology is state of the art, but the office staff members are cold, unfriendly, and unwelcoming. Not even a "hello" or "goodbye" entering or leaving the office. They must survive due to lack of competition. What a disappointment.

Really wanted to give 5 stars but..... Staff is great- very caring and explained what they were doing. Dr Couvllion ( sp?..he did not introduce himself, I had to read the name on his lab coat) came in to do his exam- mask not covering his nose. As he wanted to examine my eyes- meaning our faces would be about 1 foot apart- I requested he put his mask over both nose and mouth ( basic proper procedure). He was clearly miffed that I asked him to properly protect his patient-me. After the eye exam- once again his mask was below his nose..... I backed away to protect myself. I asked for clarification on his " diagnosis".. it was obvious he was pissed I had made the request to properly wear a mask and gave a less than thorough response. Very disappointing. My prior visit - with a different doctor- was MUCH better. Shame on him for failing to follow Covid procedures.

What an impressive operation with all the staff professional and caring. What a privilege to have California Retina Consultants here. They set a high standard and deserve kudos in their efforts. Dr. Dante = super. (And free parking is right there - often a plus we have in SB.) My friend who has had care from CRC says it's better than LA's Jules Stein Institute.

A big shout out to the staff at CRC! I had a torn retina and they took me at 4 pm on a Friday, during a pandemic no less!!! I also was not a patient, so that makes this even more remarkable! They diagnosed the tear and did laser surgery at 5 pm! Without them my retina could have detached over the weekend. I also want to mention that Dr. Castellarin is kind and caring and made a scary situation a lot better to deal with. Thank you for all you do and continue to do.
