Pharmacy at 3939 State St is incompetent .Doesn't have prescriptions ready when they say ,doesn't offer consult when indicated and doesn't know correct insurance coverage.

Jason is the most rude retail store manager I have ever met. I tried to report a pharmacy issue to him, and he gave me the most rude answer I have ever heard.

CVS pharmacy 5 stars store but at this particular location the pharmacy department, medication drop off or pick up extremely busy wait time 30 or more minutes any day or time, wonder if CVS company is aware of the condition at this particular location understaffed why keep on advertise on flu shot etc. while the pharmacy department is short of staff and is barely able to help the customer. The pharmacy technicians are knowledgeable and put a lot of effort into helping customers, obviously, not enough staff.

Happy holidays!!! 2night the review is 5/5 First and foremost, I want to give a very loud shout out to an individual by the name of Kerim that helped me this evening, through cvs pharmacy and as a patient it makes all the difference when the pharmacist is kind enough and collected enough to do their due diligence.... Understanding that this is a high stress job, it sometimes helps to have empathy and compassion for our pharmacists, trying to get their jobs done dealing with challenges and obstacles, and in my certain circumstance, a computer glitch with the system that caused everything to look completely wrong, and it was very stressful, stressful for me, and although I was stressing, Kerim Outstanding bedside manner, made me feel instantly, like I was in good hands, and his choice to actually go the distance and investigate the issue , caused me to feel like he was taking what was causing this issue seriously, as we all depend on certain medication's. It's scary when there's an issue that doesn't make sense, and I felt fear, after referencing my doctor, and figuring out that the problem was not on his end,Karen went the distance which made me feel, cared for and valued as a customer. THANK YOU these are the kind of folks that keep me coming back to the Cvs, and I'm so grateful I received an individual equipped with the compassionate care giving qualities, I needed, and he chose to do a little bit of investigating, and found the glitch and fixed the issue and made my holiday.... It's people like Kerim, that keep me coming back to this specific Cvs. Just wanted to give a big thank you and a positive review because the Cvs deserves it because of employees like Kerim and others... a little kindness and care can go along way. Hopefully, this specific Cvs can turn around, I have encountered many individuals whom are helpful and kind, and some others that aren't so much, but big shout out to all of those kind, caring people that represent this specific business, I appreciate you.

Im stuck with CVS pharmacy as part of my medical insurance plan. I go to the one at 3939 State St. in Santa Barbara, Ca. They are the absolute worst! I had a surgery on my back & the surgeon sent a refill for pain medication & they refused to fill it for me. The person I talked to on the phone was extremely rude. I suffered through Saturday & Sunday without pain medication. It was horrible & cruel. My doctor was furious. In nearly 70 years I've never been treated so badly.

I had gone to the urgent care the night before. They said they will send over an order prescription for some antibiotics and will be ready the next morning. I waited till the next afternoon and called to make sure my prescription was ready. The automated response said they have no record of any prescription. I was put on hold for 10 minutes to talk to someone. Finally they answered and said that they didn’t have anything on record. I called the urgent care back and they said it showed that cvs had received it but that they will send it again. Now repeat everything I just wrote 2 more times! Now it’s been 4+ hours so I drove over to the urgent care so I can get the two on the phone at the same time. Well, after another 20 minute hold urgent care got them on the line and confirmed they got the order finally the fourth try! I called cvs before I left to be sure and they said they had it and it would be 20 minutes. I took my time and showed up exactly 20 minutes later. The girl at the pharmacy register was confused saying I had 3 profiles. I have no idea what that means but she acted annoyed with me like this issue was somehow my fault. I said maybe it’s because they tried sending the script 3 times but told me every time that they had nothing on record. Annoyed she went to get the script but came back and said the pharmacist had to approve it still and that he went on break and will be another 20 minutes. As bad as I wanted to freak out I kept calm. I ran an errand and came back. Now there is a long line and the customer at the register was having the same problem I had! Passing the buck 3 x, ignoring the fact I’d been trying all day to get a script, acting annoyed like this was all my fault pretty much lead me to this 1 star rating! I’ll never go here again! I’d rather drive out of my way to another pharmacy than deal with all that again! Reading other ratings maybe cvs should consider new pharmacy management. Unacceptable customer service!

1 is actually too high of a grading for this store! I went to the store as my body had a bad case of hives. I felt as if I had been thrown in fire & my entire body was swelling & bright red. As I rushed to the pharmacy counter, the pharmacist kindly handed me Benadryl but recommended I go to the hospital. He didn’t offer to do the check out & no attendant was at the registers. As my condition was worsening & I was under severe stress, I went to the self check out which unfortunately were not cooperating. In the meantime, a cashier was helping a customer & customers started to line up. I was very agitated as my condition was worsening with my throat swelling. NOT ONE PERSON, CVS EMPLOYEE OR CUSTOMER, INQUIRED OR OFFERED HELP FOR ALMOST 10 MIN. Finally a CVS person helped & the just had time to call someone to take me to the ER. There my throat did shut down & I couldn’t breathe anymore but Cottage hospital staff was marvelous & got my health back in control. In such a condition every min counts & in a store with a pharmacy, you would expect adequate customer service & care. One day later, I went back to talk to the manager who showed zero empathy. Who didn’t believe me and was extremely arrogeant & rude. I was just trying to bring to his attention that in a pharmacy, employees should be aware clients might enter their store & require attention due to health crisis. I however wasn’t given the opportunity to even say so since the manager was not receptive to hear any concern. When lacking interest for feedbacks, there is no room improvements…Henceforth, they lost me as a client!

Very unprofessional pharmacists. I had the worst experience today. The line had 10 people in line with one person at the counter. She was awesome and working so hard to keep up. I give kudos to her. There were 2 guys that came and stood behind her and were talking story and laughing away. Not even acknowledging the situation she was in. When I got got up to the counter I mentioned something to the new guy that came to help her. He was very courteous. I mentioned to him what I observed for the last 20 min and he listened. But the pharmacist two counters behind me overheard the conversation and started confronting me and was so rude! I told her I did not want to engage but she got other people involved and before I k ew it I had a whole circus of people going off on me. Never again will I go there again. I felt horrible when I left there. Absolutely so unnecessary!

If I could leave zero Stars I would but then I wouldn't be able to leave review the manager Kevin at that store is the most unprofessional rude, profiles and discriminate against people because of the waves that they look or they're disabled and having a hard time at the register. He actually walked away from the register and started ringing up another customer. This is the first time I've ever been laughed at when I was struggling because of my anxiety level at the time, and I was using the app for Xtra bucks, and I also had paper ones. I was blown away at the lack of respect and the way he spoke to me in front of everyone was so upsetting, I had to walk out and not get the item I came for. I will definitely be reporting him and the store employees to the corporate office on Monday morning.

Ely You're very condescending and the way you explain things is not helpful whatsoever, flipping the screen and showing me and expecting me to know how I'm being charged is not the way you do things you have to be thorough, i'm asking you because i want to understand how I'm being charged me looking at the screen won't help. Get some training lady you need it

I've been a customer at this pharmacy for years. Unfortunately, the constant confusion with my medications and my son's medication, that we rely on for quality of daily life, and the endless wait times.They really need to come up with a way where they can close off the line without making you have to leave the line that you've been waiting in for a decent amount of time when they close for lunch.The staff seems to hate their jobs, however, it depends on which staff is present at the time. The girl with red hair has always been friendly and helpful with me. That's the only reason I'm going with two stars instead of one.
