ZERO STARS!! NEGATIVE STARS!!!
On Sept 3rd, 2024 I went there for a car wash. When I picked up my car the driver door was broken (not closing properly, not lined up). I talked with the manager and showed it to him and he played stupid, and specifically told me that there had been NO incident with my car. He told me they have video cameras that record everything and he would look at the tape. We exchanged phone numbers.
When he didn’t return my calls, after a week I contacted my insurance company and filed a claim. The door on my car was getting worse during this time. On THE DAY I filed the claim (Sept 9th) the manager Eric decided to call me back. He left a VM sounding like he didn’t even know why I was calling. On Sept 11th the owner Spencer Wasem started calling me. I had 3 phone calls with Spencer, him acting concerned and helpful. The last interaction with him was on Sept 16th, 2024 when he left a VM telling me that he talked with insurance and it will all be handled.
For the record, their video tape SHOWED that another car had COLLIDED with my car when the driver door was open!! SO THEY DROVE ANOTHER CUSTOMER’S CAR INTO MY CAR AND LIED TO ME SAYING NOTHING HAPPENED!!!
State Farm (and Educated Car Wash) determined that they were fully at fault for my car being damaged. Yet now it is January 2025 and I’m still waiting for Spencer Wasem to talk with the claims people at State Farm. I’ve called State Farm a couple of times to check on the status of the subrogation. They told me that Spencer Wasem won’t return their phone calls.
I decided to start calling myself every day starting Jan 6th. It has been 5 days so far.
I can’t believe that people still take their cars here. Im shocked that Eric still has a job. Perhaps Spencer likes having a dishonest manager because it suits his culture of dishonesty.
I’m wondering what happened with the other car that ran into mine. Did they ignore that person too? Did that person get their car fixed?
Anyway, SPENCER!!! I want my deductible back!!!
Call my insurance company!!!

Lousy Service , specifically asked for exterior only but these guys seem to not understand simple directions… also I’d watch these workers they seem to be prying into middle consoles and glove boxes, giving thief vibes

I love this car wash. They are honest. I love Spencer, Chester, Rob, Jimmy, eric, and all
The guys that do an excellent job. I used to work here a decade ago and today I took my car in for an interior detail and shampoo and my daughters car seat! The detailer was amazing. The gas price was great as usual and the car seat smells as good as new! I can’t be grateful enough to support such a wonderful family owned business. Thanks for all you do and for being a staple all these years. Best, h.

They ought to be ashamed of themselves. List of photos speak for themselves because this was ridiculous. I was completely threw when Jimmy the manager tell me that I was asking for too much to expect my car to be completely clean on the exterior, no mud on the rail or cobwebs still left on the exterior of the truck even after the men call themselves trying to wipe it down. The interior wouldn't touched, I ultimately ended up having to clean my own vehicle. And this is after having paid the extra fee for a truck.
Clearly Santa Barbara has extremely low expectations of how are car washes supposed to clean a vehicle because this by any means was not acceptable... Sand everywhere. For him to give me a response like," don't expect it to be completely spotless this is an in and out spot. " When I'm looking at three grown men wiping the car down.
I told him I have never experienced such a horrible car wash. Never have I ever had to have this conversation with anybody at a car wash because they've done such a shabby job at it.
When I asked him why there was so much sin still left in the car, he said because they don't have the little blower all they had was rags. I said that just doesn't make sense to me because this is a Beach town so everybody's going to come in here with sand what people don't believe in don't believe in driving cars without saying is that what you're trying to tell me?
And I think I stopped here because I thought we were going to save on gas if I got a car Wash here. The gas was the same price as regular gas station this is what made me the most upset. I could have ran my car through the Shell station and got in a better job or equivalent. The tires were still dirty. Save your money and just go through a drive-thru for 10 bucks . I spent $40 on this car wash. It was a hot mess. These are the pictures of what my car look like and just some of the pictures of what it look like when they were completely finished washing my car.
Don't go here.

Been coming here for a longgg time and unfortunately their work has suffered a ton the past few years. I tried again and again to give them a chance and every single time I get home and I’m furious at how dirty my car still is. Not sure what happened but I’m never going there again.

I recently visited Educated Car Wash and was disappointed with my experience. When I pulled in, I told the attendant that i wanted the basic wash which costs $26.95. I said the price. He asked me if i wanted to put gas and i said no. I went inside to pay and the cashier told me the total was $28.95. I asked why and he said to go outside and talk to the manager. I guess the guy that i had spoken with when I arrived was the manager. I asked him the reason I was overcharged. He first said the price went up. I said, if the prices went up and it is not displayed, you need to honor the price that is posted. He then said that he was charging me more for an SUV. My car is not an SUV. It is a Lincoln MKT . I told him it was not an SUV. I mentioned that I had been there a couple of weeks before, and I was charge the right amount.
The manager insisted that it was an SUV, but he will only charge me $1 additional. So i said no. I will take my car. He said then go pay the $10 for vacuuming your car.
I went inside again to speak to the cashier . I told him what was happening. He responded "what do you want me to do, I am not going to lose my job"
So i was charged more, even though my vehicle is not an SUV. I saw a different cashier, and I asked her to please ask the owner to call me back. I waited and waited and the call never came.i guess if the owner does not care about his customers, then you can't expect a so call manager to act any different.
This overcharging issue is unacceptable and reflects poorly on their customer service. The lack of customer aervice is unbelievable. It surprises me that the owners give a title of "manager" to a person that lacks the skills to the job he was supposed to do. I would not recommend this service based on my experience.
B3ing a business owner myself, I would have treat any customers this way. This is unacceptable.

Smelling really bad at the moment, not sure what’s up. Quality has gone downhill.

The only thing that was acceptable was the attention of the person who charged, they didn't wash my car properly, I talked to the manager, they supposedly cleaned it again and it was the same, the details on the inside. Not recommended at all😡, I would have washed it and it looked better. MALAYSIAN!

I ask for a full service and honestly, it was dusty and they didn’t vacuum inside. It was a really bad service and I came in the morning when they’re not that busy thinking that they will do a better job but I was wrong. It’s the same never again and they still asking for a tip. I don’t think so.

I left this car wash smelling. Like sewage, the inside of the car smells like sewage because they don't treat the water, they just recycle it the best. I can do is put some air fresh there. Hope you got a good lawyer. Don't bring your car here unless you want your car smelling like rotten Water.
They're too busy to give any car any. Type of attention to detail. 0/10 recommend

It’s not bad but it’s not that good. I’d imagine it depends on the persons day on how well they complete the interior. It’s a little rough.

first time at educated car wash, paid for full service/interior -exterior/ next day noticed back seat area not vacuumed... noticed bird droppings still on back of car, noticed area around open doors not cleaned/ i didnt check... the driver/passenger side looked good...i usually give business a second chance...next time i will inspect my car, ensuring that the commitment made and paid for is completed.... to be continued... suggest check that educated car wash actually does what their sign offers...
