We had an amazing time staying in the Adventure Yurt in December! Our room had everything we needed for a true "glamping" experience - electricity, space heater, hot water maker, microwave, and plenty of warm blankets. The staff very friendly and gave us some tips on how to get our fire started. Although it was a bit damp because it had rained earlier in the week, we were still able to get the campfire going and enjoy s'mores and a pseudo-camping experience. The communal bath/shower room was relatively clean, though one of the shower stalls was directly under a bird's nest and had some bird poop in it. The bathroom/shower was never crowded and we could take a shower comfortably. You can hike up the hill at around 8am and hang out with the animals - they have sheep, goats, a donkey, and llamas, and they usually need help feeding them! This was great for the kids to get some up-close and personal time with the animals. We will definitely be going back and probably booking the bunk or queen cabin, since those have a private bathroom and kitchenette.

Overall, it was a very nice place. The room was nice and cozy. However, the Creekside Queen was a lot smaller in real life than the pictures. The bed edges stuck out and I kept hitting my legs on the hard wood. The location was immaculate. The trail leading to the animals overlooking the ocean was amazing?. The food was really good and not very pricey.Nearby activities: Good for hikes and surfing at the warm beaches

All Church Camp glamping... beautiful place. Welcoming staff went the extra mile to help me find our yurt in the dark.

Priced like a luxury resort, but this is VERY RUSTIC. Cabins are not well ventilated and without fans - it was 85 degrees at night inside. No plates, knives, grilling equipment, or any amenities other than electricity and towels. Pack as if you're camping, and do not expect the Wifi to work more than a few min a day.
If they charged 1/4th the price, you would feel that you were getting what you paid for. Service was great though.

We have attended El Capitan Canyon in the past, went after our wedding in downtown Santa Barbara and previously had exceptional service. This time, a lot of the sites were sold out and we opted for a yurt. To say terrible is an understatement. First, there is zero enforcement for quiet hours - so parents got drunk into late night, and the next morning kids were outside our yurt screaming at 7am. I understand that yurts aren't exactly hotels but the website is explicitly advertising quiet hours. There are no daily towels or toiletry refresh - so you have to call to get it done (no telephone in the yurt and limited reception). On night 2, we hadn't gotten any sleep and I called the front desk to complain, there was a guy who was sent to our tent, who aggressively knocked on our door and got very confrontational. He said, "tell me where the kids are" - clearly not our job to tell him to enforce rules. Then he said, "...well what do you want me to do?" - I kid you not. When I asked him for his name, he asked me why I wanted it. We spent $1,000 to be treated like garbage. As of 2020, the management has changed, and its now shared management with an RV park. These are two very different prices points, but everyone deserves respect. The RV park management will run this place into the ground and then buy the land for peanuts.

I experienced nature by looking at the mountains and feeling the breeze of air. I experienced the cabin, it looks very cool. The environment is great, very close to nature, the cabin is very cozy everything was perfect. Nothing better.

All I can say is wow. I grew up camping as a kid. You know, tents, RVs the whole works. Camping and glamping have changed the game in a big way. El Capitan Canyon far exceeded my expectations. I didn't know what i expected prior to my stay but I was blown away the moment I arrived.
All the staff are very friendly and attentive, greeting you as you walk by. The market place has a great selection of food, snacks. merchandise and anything you may have forgotten to pack... especially the wine!
The soundbath/yoga experience is well worth the attendance. Ala knows just how to get you to unwind.
The General Manager Richard is so kind and cares about each and everyone he comes across. Word on the street is he's been coming to El Cap since he was a kid and this holds a special place in his heart.
Any request you have at the front, Ariana is your girl.
Downtown Santa Barbara is only about 20 minutes on the 101 and has some great restaurants to choose from. I visited Lucky's, The Lark, Loquita, La Super Rica and some other spots I don't recall the name of.
Shopping is plentiful (I had to buy another duffel to fit all I bought). I stopped by some unique vintage/thrift shops and recommend Antique Alley, The Blue Door and The Closet Trading Company.
All in all, I cannot recommend a trip to El Cap more.
Enjoy!

Good for families but these people are all over the place it is not easy to get away from them.It is set up well for families, if that is your thing? Probably better for families than singles and couples? Beautiful location. It's glamping for the wealthy. 2rich 4my blood.I can only take it in small doses.

We Love to go to the concert series every year to eat Barbecue and dance, but have missed the last 2 years because of Covid. We were unaware of the new policy that you had now had to reserve the barbecue on line by 2:00 the same day. They now do not let concert goers in until 3:30. We arrived at 4:00 and told that they had stretched the rule until 3:30. But they had extra chicken, which we were happy to have. But they had to asked the chef first. The chef was A TOTAL RUDE J*** TO US! He went on a rant on us. All we asked for was chicken that they had.We were shocked that anyone would speak to us that way. Without responding we just walked away. If he was my employee I would have fired him on the spot for speaking to customers that way. We usually bring 6 to 10 people with us. Thank goodness we were alone Saturday June 3rd. I doubt we will ever go back again. It was such a toxic experience that left us shaken. How sad that one OBNOXIOUS employee with a chip on his shoulder and anger management issues could ruin a summer tradition for us.

What a beautiful place indeed. Stayed here for the weekend in a little cozy cabin that has everything the family needed. The super bloom this time of year was incredible so I really enjoyed the hikes through the hills where at some point I was surrounded by 7 foot flowers and weeds and felt one with the plants then suddenly spotted two deer. However I did end up getting poison oak so pay attention to what's growing around you.

My friends and I booked this place for vacation. The cabin is better than I expected. The yurt is a bit disappointing. It is very quiet at night and there are no street lights here. It is very suitable for watching the stars at night and the sunrise in the morning.
