My dog Captain loves MacKenzie Park. He's been going here since I first adopted him from Spark Rescue Santa Barbara. The only reason I'm giving it a 4 star rating is because the 20lb or less area has no shade. On a sunny day more than half the day that area will remain empty. The large dog side has all those pine trees that give it an amazing amount of shade. With this recent heatwave, it was just to hot. Luckily Captain is 75lbs so we are in the shade. Except for that, it's the perfect place. I hope they'll do something soon. It really isn't fair for small dog owners.

MacKenzie Park features two fully-fenced enclosures—one for small dogs under 20 pounds, and one for larger dogs. The off-leash dog area is located at the eastern end of the park. The addition of new benches, a drinking fountain, enhanced landscaping, and a new park plaza near the Calle Palo Colorado crosswalk are among the elements that comprise this phase of improvements to be seen at MacKenzie Park. The off-leash dog area is open 7:00 a.m. to sunset. Rules are posted on the enclosure fences, and the public is encouraged to take responsibility for their dogs and to take an active part in keeping this new community asset beautiful by cleaning up after pets and adhering to the posted regulations.

Home to Santa Barbara's Pony League, MacKenzie Park hosts all our home baseball games. And thanks to all the local businesses that pitched in this year to put up our new score boards!

Great park, but it's unfortunate that the City of Santa Barbara has let the homeless do whatever they want with no consequences. Had a youth baseball practice there yesterday and arrived to find a man passed out in between fields, one passed out on the hill and a group drinking beyond the outfield. Not the setting you want for a baseball practice.

???The dog park is great friendly dogs large enclosures for both large&small dogs pretty nice location off the 101 freeway. Las Positas exit for both north&south exits. If your traveling through Santa Barbara and your friendly pooch needs a play/pee stop this is a Great park!???

A nice new parking lot and play ground designed for smaller kids. The fencing around the play area makes it a great spot for when you have more than one to keep an eye one. That being said, we avoid this park completely when little league baseball is going on; there is never parking, the playground is often full of unsupervised children and trash from players snacks is everywhere.

Very nice off-leash dog park! There's a small dog area and a large dog area that are separated by fencing. The mulch helps keep the dust down while the dogs run around the area, which is appreciated.

It doesn't look as good as many of the other Santa Barbara playgrounds, but my 2 and 4 year old boys always have the best time there. From biking on the narrow paved paths along the baseball fields to searching for bunnies in the bushes above the playground, or playing soccer on the grass, there's always something to do. Parking is easy and plentiful and there's always other kids.

Visited this park for a baseball championship over a weekend. Parking wasn't an issue, although a lot of people weren't aware of the parking in the bowling green upper lot area. There was no fencing for the Pinto/Mustang field and some people were putting their chairs right inside the field and getting in the way when balls went that way. Another issue was that the bathrooms don't have locks and the ladies room had one plugged up toilet that stayed that way all weekend long. It was pretty gross.
