Spacious house with all the amenities that is built around a great community of guys all under the solid leadership of Chris and house manager Connor. This type of dynamic and environment being offered at an affordable price is hard to find when it comes to sober livings. Grateful I get to call this place home while continuing my journey and finishing my education.

I moved to Santa Barbara as a newly sober, nervous transfer into UCSB. Before moving, the thought of being at one of the biggest party schools in America while being completely sober was daunting to say the least. I toured various sober livings in the area, and though they are all solid centers, the atmosphere just wasn’t right for me. At mana, there are meeting requirements, weekly house meetings, and an overall serious approach to holistically staying sober. However, the environment was nothing like what you would think of when thinking about a sober living. Starting with Chris and Connor, Mana is incredibly chill, laid back, and supportive. The guys eat together, cook together, watch movies together, workout together, play frisby golf, etc. Once nervous, uncertain, and frankly frustrated about being sober, the house honestly quickly began to feel like home. They keep it light over there, respect your space, but also want to engage and become actual homies. Also, the house dog, Zephyr, is a damn legend. I am incredibly grateful for having lived at Mana House, and to this day, am still friends with Chris and the guys, and know I can reach out to Chris and Connor for life advice any time. Highly recommend this place if you’re serious about being sober in the SB area.

Mana house is a remarkable place to get your life back on track in beautiful Santa Barbara! Mana, translated from Hawaiian, means power. In my addiction I had lost all power, hope and was rattled with fear, anxiety and depression. The house/facilities are second to none; the rooms are unlike any other sober living I have ever experienced. The staff of lifelong friends Chris and Conor made my experience and stay there an unreal time. They treated me as if I had been their brother growing up along side them. They are a great 1:2 combo together. The Monday night fireside meeting at the house was like going on a camping trip weekly while getting to share my experience, strength and hope on a weekly basis while hearing how others had felt the same way that I did was a huge relief to me. I was physically weak and out of shape before my move in and getting to get back into my hobbies such as surfing, training jiu jitsu, hitting the gym and hiking the gorgeous mountains of such a special part of the world were huge to my recovery. “The boys” took me to awesome outside AA meetings where I was able to feel a part of the fellowship, something that was difficult for me in past attempts at sobriety. If you are struggling with alcoholism or drug addiction I highly recommend giving Mana house a shot as I feel empowered again to take on life after having completed my goal of a 1 year stay at the house.Mana house, the staff and other residents whom I lived with while there will always hold a special place in my heart.Mucho Mahalos to “the boys”!

By far the best sober living I've ever been to. The house is filled with great structure and accountability. All the guys in the house are working a solid program and if you're looking to enhance your sobriety, this is definitely the place.

My experience at Mana House has been excellent. I’ve been a resident for 2 months so far and my experience could not be better. There is a great balance between recovery work, real responsibility, and fun. You are granted a solid amount of freedom assuming you are putting in the work on yourself. Chris who owns Mana House is great, and is extremely consistent about important accountability factors such as drug testing and seriousness when it comes to the rules he lays down. I would recommend this house to anybody I care about. I’m happy I made the choice to stay here!

Mana house is a great structured men's sober living for guys in the Santa Barbara area. I've been referring to Chris for about a year now and have had nothing but great feedback from the clients I sent over there. I would not hesitate to check in yourself or send a loved one to Mana House Men's sober living.

If someone is struggling with addiction I'd highly recommend Mana House. The accountability, structure, 12 step focus and environment gave me the little extra push I needed. The owner Chris knows the deal.. If you want to rediscover you're stoke on life, the outdoors and sobriety while hanging out in SB then I'd suggest Mana house.
