John (owner/operator) at Mission Pool Tables in Santa Barbara does NOT honor his word, nor stand behind the products he sells! BUYERS BEWARE!

John runs a great shop! If you need any games of the sort he's your place to go. Has chess, backgammon, darts , fuseball, ping pong, card tables, chips, cards, pool tables... whole 9. John's very knowledgeable and on point. And a Vietnam vet !I highly recommend this 30 year old establishment. Very reasonable prices. Support localTip : Just call ahead of time and before 1 pm so he knows he has customers coming in so he won't close early! He usually closes at 2pm or little before... so if he doesn't answer just ring again until he does, he's a one man army so he's most likely helping another customer at the other end of the shop.

John runs a great shop! If you need any games of the sort he's your place to go. Just call until he answers, he's a one man army so he might be helping a customer in person on the other end of the shop. Very smart, knowledgeable and capable game enthusiast. And a Vietnam vet I highly recommend this establishment

John has been in business for decades and I bought my first pool cue from him as a teenager. Recently, I went in to have a new tip put on my pool cue. He was helpful in educating me about the options and I felt that my pool cue was in good hands. A few days later when I picked up my pool cue I noticed the new tip was not properly glued to the ferrule. John said it was fine but I was skeptical. Then I noticed dents on the shaft near the ferrule where it appeared John had clamped a device on the shaft. I tested the new tip and it came off easily with just a bit of pressure from my thumb. John performed a hack job on my pool cue. It was pathetic and embarrassing. He ruined my cue and made little effort to correct the situation. He only offered to waive the charge of the tip replacement. I cannot understand how he has remained in business for so long doing shady work like that. I will never shop there again and would advise everyone to take your business elsewhere, or at least your pool cue.

This company is nothing but an online spam service, ad after ad after ad for their pool tables in the by owner classifieds. If they can't respect simple rules for advertising, what else are they doing?

This was my third experience with John. Sadly, I didn't get the same "warm fuzzy feeling" others had. I did get all the complaining about people not buying and having been there "38" years.... should be busier... Yada, Yada, Yada, Yada.... This trip I came in with specific cue and parts request. I had won a raffle and the prize was a gift certificate from Mission Pool. He said he didn't buy much from McDermott and I probably would get it faster if I ordered it myself. He really didn't have anything I needed, nor wanted. I asked about specific pool cue cases. He had a catalog to show me some pool cases... all from companies I have never heard of. I got out as soon as I could....

Bought an awesome dartboard here while up on a day trip speaking at UC Santa Barbara a few months ago. Was looking for it as an amenity for guests for an Airbnb my girlfriend, our partner, and I just set up out in the desert. John, the owner, priced this dartboard very fairly as a quick look on Google Shopping showed most similar dartboards at the same price or more plus shipping, but this one I could leave with right away AND support a small local business! He had fancier boards and full cabinets but budget was the airbnb was running dry at this point so just got board on its own and mounted to a cork board. I would LOVE to get a pool table here one day, he had some amazing tables, even ping pong! John was saying he actually sold Tom Hanks a table with ping pong paddles with his face on them from Forrest Gump!! Will definitely be back for more, hopefully a table someday! Highly recommend

Great prices. Knowledgeable. Exemplifies why buying local still makes sense. Brick and Mortar at its best.

I purchased my Pool Table from John in 2004. We put together a deal with a Connelly Table, Simonis 760 cloth, 2 McDermott Cues, 4 high quality Canadian made Cues with wall mount, a set of Aramith Tournament balls, a rack, brush, spots, chalk, etc., plus free delivery and professional installation. My table still looks and plays fantastic, cues are all still straight and play fantastic, but I'm looking to replace my Simonis 760 cloth (starting to show some wear after 14 years). I highly recommend Mission Pool Tables, great quality and pricing with fantastic service!

I love the store. They have everything you need or can get any game you like. The old world customer service is a thing to treasure. The owner, John is a marvelous man full of humorous stories and an immense and far-reaching knowledge of games. I recommend that you stop in just to talk to him and have a look around. Did I mentioned that I love this place?
