Deplorable. The smell of bleach in the room was overwhelming from the moment you opened the door throughout the entire day. Sheets were washed in bleach and I caught an awful skin rash I mean awful. NEVER AGAIN. Sticking with the high end hotels. Noise and yelling through the night. Dirty grounds. The photos of hotel are a joke and deceiving but hey I believe in karma.

Overall decent room that was clean and basic. For the price I would have expected more appliances in the room such as a hair dryer mini fridge or microwave. The pool was a nice added extra after a long drive however the room keys did not work and room would not lock properly unless from inside. Main highlight was the pool and location. Improvement could be made on amenities and toiletries.

This Motel 6, in particilar, was a nice experience. The service was professional and quick. The room, although small, was clean and well maintained. One negative is for the price one would expect more than two tiny bars of soap in the shower area.

This is the upper state street location. There are some decent food stuffs around. There is Chick Fil-a next door along with Rusty's Pizza. There are other restaurants a little down the road like Lure and Islands. For the most part there is nothing of note in this part of Santa Barbara. Mostly the residential area of Santa Barbara. The rooms here are typical Motel 6 rooms, nothing exciting pretty plain. There is a bit of street noise here as it's right on state st and this particular area is pretty congested. I thought the staff was friendly enough and the value is ok. This is your standard Motel 6 experience. Cheaper accommodations at the expensive of quality.Nearby activities: There isn't a lot to see in the the area. You're about 3-4 miles away from the SB downtown are and Cabrillo beach area.

WOW... where do I start? I'm posting one star b/c I'm not able to give it ZERO stars. My wife, 11 year old and I were scheduled to stay here two nights (Aug 18 &19) while we moved our 18 year old to Santa Barbara for his freshman year. At this particular Motel 6 (first time ever staying in a Motel 6) we were charged $583 for two nights. We were in room 217, and it was remarkably cramped, two of the most uncomfortable beds we've ever slept in, pubic hair surrounding the toilet, a massive, indistinguishable booger stuck on the corner of the wall next to the bed where my wife slept, the most disgusting shower curtain, blood stains on the bed frame, and God only knows what the stains were on the fitted sheet... and $.99 Store towels. We checked in late after moving our other son in and simply came back to the room and went to bed. We woke up Saturday morning and after seeing all that we saw, we headed to the office to request a new room. A man was leaving the office with his dog and my wife asked the manager if they allowed pets. She asked b/c we paid a friend's son $150 to stay at our house and watch our dog for the weekend, and if the stay was nice, we could save that $ by bringing our dog for our next visit. The manager (picture attached), an Indian man, misinterpreted my wife's question as a put down, and we spent the next 10 minutes with him verbally accosting my wife and me. In the midst of his rant and put down after put down, I tried to turn on my phone to record him, but I inadvertently pressed the record button twice and only captured a second of his rant. Another fellow came into the office and was blown away by the manager treated us (my wife spoke with him in the parking lot as we loaded our car). The so called manager was condescending, vulgar, and downright rude & disrespectful to the two of us. I plan to bring this up with the corporate office of Motel 6, b/c NO ONE like that should be employed in a customer service position in the hospitality industry. I would NEVER recommend this place... it was filthy dirty, and the entire experience was absolutely disgusting. After loading our car, and finding a new place to stay, I went back to the office, this time with my camera already recording, and the same jackass manager proceeded to apologize about 20 times, but when I confronted him about how he spoke to my wife, he immediately became defensive, and the "jackassery" all started up again. This time I got video!DO NOT STAY HERE!!! Spend another $50-$100 go someplace where you'll get a better night's sleep and far cleaner, more comfortable and an all in all far greater experience.
