A symbol of genocide of the Chumash people and many indigenous people. This place should not be celebrated, it was a place of mass death and horror for many men women and children. We must call it what it is.

I enjoyed my visit to the Old Mission, but visitors were not permitted to walk through the interior gardens. That was disappointing. The rest of the visit was very nice even though it took less than a half hour to go through.

Currently our gift shop is open 7 days a week. Tours and museum are closed due to COVID-19 until further notice.
