HIGH CRIME AREAThe place is cute and close to the beach but wish I had been warned of crime. Our bikes were stolen off of our truck within hours of arriving. Ruined our trip and cost us thousands of dollars. Also bed is super hard and I didn't sleep at all here.

This place was attractive when I booked it last year in early March via Expedia. I love Santa Barbara and the people. The B&B is only steps from the beach. Amenities include bikes, community kitchen and a community porch with a nice view of the city’s residential area. Dwelling is aged, however it’s embraced by its vintage charm with an Edwardian look. I really did appreciate the unique appeal. I booked for two nights because I wanted to make the most out of my Santa Barbara beach trip. However, one morning me and my boyfriend were getting ready to bike ride to Stearn’s Wharf where the property manager appeared and asked who we were. I told her my name, room number and length of stay. Then she was able to pin point who I was. We laughed it off with her because we knew it was just a misunderstanding. Then she said, “Sorry, I’m just xenophobic.” Then my smile turned serious. I couldn’t believe she openly said that. It’s very discriminatory. Unfortunately I had another night there. I did not feel comfortable there for the remainder of my stay. We stayed longer out on State Street and the boardwalk than enjoying the amenities offered. It’s definitely a cute B&B, but because of that comment I felt unwelcomed and out of place, I do not recommend it here. I would never return here, but definitely yes to the City of Santa Barbara. Just elsewhere. However I was there a year and a half ago so it’s possible that management has changed. If so, I’d consider returning. Just goes to show Customer Service outweighs amenities and appeal.

Great location! Just 1 block from the beach. It's a nice change from staying at a hotel. Basic, but clean and comfortable. There's also a great little market nearby which helped us save some money on food and was convenient for stocking up on supplies for the beach.

A very charming bed and breakfast style place (minus the breakfast) in a prime location in Santa Barbara. Very cozy and accomodating!

Nice room very close to the ocean. Basic amenities Include: basic bathroom items, microwave, coffee maker, tv with cable. Room has no AC and gets hot in the day. Pumbing in the room squeals loudly when used and it very hard to ignore. Stay was nice but will not return.

Vintage historic place that is well maintained considering the age of the building. It is located about a block from the beach and near walking paths. Could use some grounds maintenance to spruce up it's appearance.

Felt like walking into a room at my mom's house. Very cozy and homey. May not be for everyone, but I was very comfortable.
