Had a 90 minute massage with Christian and felt blissfully relaxed when I waled out of the cave. The warm lighting and salt crystal environment really enhance the overall experience.

Employees have a lack of work ethic showed up at 5:50 hoping to purchase a gift card only to find they had closed early.

What a special surprise my friend gave me for my birthday…..a day in Santa Barbara with a meditation session at the Salt Cave! The salt cave is a very cool looking place for sure. You take stairs down into a basement”cave” where there is a gift shop with all things salt, massage rooms, spa rooms and a large room where meditations and other activities like yoga take place. We had an appointment for a meditation session on a Friday afternoon in October. I really didn’t know what to expect but I was excited to be there. We were asked to take off our shoes and the front desk lady escorted us into the large room where there were gravity free chairs for us to sit on. The ground was Himalayan salt/sand and the walls and ceilings were lined in Himalayan salt rocks. The lights were dimmed and it felt very peaceful in there. The lady told us she was waiting a few more minutes to see if anyone else would show up for the meditation and we were welcome to sit and get comfortable. After about 5 minutes she came back in to tell us we were the only ones for this session and she was going to start. She then walked out of the room. I was expecting that she was going to be the one to guide us into a meditation. I guess I was wrong. Lights dimmed a bit more and an introduction came across the speakers telling us about salt and the benefits, etc. After peaceful music started. I thought at this point a recording of someone guiding us in the mediation would start. Again, I was wrong. The “meditation” was simply a recording of relaxing music. OK….a little disappointed at this point but hey, it’s relaxing and I am detoxing with the salt air and salt all around me. I started my self-talk meditation and started to get more relaxed and then…BANG! BANG! People above us were banging things and what sounded like moving furniture. Our relaxing, peaceful time did not last long at all. It was so very disappointing. We stayed in the room, breathing in the air and experiencing the salt around us but that’s all it was. When our session was done my friend told the front desk about the loud noise and their response was something to the effect that they knew they were moving upstairs and was hoping it wouldn’t be loud. They didn’t offer to bring us back another time to experience a peaceful time there without any banging (after the moving upstairs ended)I am not sure how much my friend paid for this gift. It was supposed to be a very special birthday gift to me (and her) because we are in very stressful jobs. Unfortunately this gift didn’t live up to her very sweet intentions.I do not like writing reviews like this but I feel like people need to know about this and they should proceed at their own discretion. On a positive note, I did take some cute pics of the place.

I know its seems wierd to pay to sit in a room filled with salt rocks and chill to vibrational music, but it was a very relaxing experience. We used a Groupon to get a deal. I felt good afterwards.

Me and my friend (Mexican MINORS.)went to look around today and this one white lady (maybe the owner) would not take her eyes off of us the whole time we were there. When we were walking to the bathroom she asked us if they could help us with anything and we replied back saying we were just gonna use the restroom. She said that the bathroom was only for staff and not meant for public use, when other people CLEARLY use it. We have used their bathroom before, + many other strangers. To be clear we’re mexican. If we were WHITE GIRLS she probably wouldn’t have said anything. This racism needs to stop, We’re just minors. What can we possibly do to harm them. 10/05/23.

If you're looking to take a quick 45 power nap after walking around SB all day, come to the cave. Just make sure you lock your chair in place. Staff was friendly.

I enjoyed my experience here. I had the 45 minute meditation and it felt really good. They play frequency music and you lay or sit in anti gravity chairs. I felt a difference after and I would go again. The staff was also very helpful.

I really liked this place in the past, but my experience today was unsatisfying. I used to do cave sessions and facuals regularly, and it had been a favorite place to bring visitors. The caves are still nice, but the customer service left a lot to be desired. In the past, they always had such friendly staff, unfortunately not today, which is disappointing.

Very unreliable and unprofessional staff. Called them around January 10th to make a reservation for Valentines Day and was told to call on or after January 27th as they don't accept reservations that early. Called them on January 26th, the day earlier, and was told that they are fully booked. We had great plans for Valentines Day, which were ruined immediately by this Spa service.

From the moment I walked in I was warmly greeted and directed to the Spa desk. Gina at the Spa desk was gracious and efficient. Jennifer the esthetician was other worldly! Her touch, her quiet manor and knowledge left me feeling calm centered and nurtured! All the staff here appeared to be happy kind people. That is a rarity these days in retail. And she agreeably wore a mask without hesitation. I can't wait to come back!

Came here for a couples massage in a private cave to celebrate our anniversary. We had a really fun experience! Great massage, essential oils and knowledgeable masseuses! Very calming and pretty space. Would definitely recommend!

TLDR: RACISTSMy friend and I came into this store while browsing around downtown. For context, I’m Asian and he’s South Asian, and we’re both students at UCSB, if that wasn’t clear enough to the store employee through our UCSB hoodies. Basically, there was no reason for any normal person to be rude to us. As soon as we entered, one of the employees (I believe she was either the owner or manager) started glaring at us. She glared at my friend and I the entire time we were there, making us feel extremely uncomfortable and unsafe. I picked up an item to inspect it—said lady goes “Don’t do that.” The store had other customers too (lol and they were all white), and yet my friend and I were the only ones getting glared at and monitored without even a smile or friendly gesture from any of the employees. We left shortly after, not wanting to support a business with such outdated and offensive values. For anyone who believes I’m being dramatic, then at least let your takeaway be that this shop has terrible, inconsistent, and discriminatory service.
