Office was clean and professional. All vets and techs were male which was problematic since my rescue dog was abused and afraid of men. She warms up to men who make an effort to make her comfortable. This vet office has zero skills in this. Not once did tech try and get down at her level to pet her, offer a treat or anything. Actual vet hovered in doorway, took my dog to the back to examine her, so nothing is actually done in exam rooms. They checked her ears and determined a $600 treatment plan for ear infections. In comparison with 4 other local vets, their prices are at least 30% above the already astronomical vet prices throughout Santa Barbara. Based on how cold and uninterested this office was, I would not go back nor recommend. Despite their $98 visit fee, I paid an additional separate visit fee elsewhere where my dog was treated much better.

Anisa was extremely rude, as soon as she answered the phone I was given attitude and she was not helpful. I had to ask to transfer to a different receptionist because she was so rude. I considered switching my pets to San Roque but based on this interaction, I wouldn't take any of my pets nor would I ever recommend you guys.

SRPH has cycled through so many different vets the last few years, it's near impossible to find a vet to trust. Today, I had an extremely negative experience with a new vet I hadn't seen before. She was abrasive and condescending in her tone. At one point, she was repeatedly raising her voice while telling me she has over 35 years of experience after I mentioned I had gotten a different perspective than what she wanted to hear from the vet over at Goleta Airport Hospital (literally their sister hospital). Needless to say, I'll be pulling my records from them and making Goleta my primary care provider.

I took my dog to another emergency pet hospital and they didn't really do anything for her besides diagnosing her with a possible brain tumor. (She was pacing back and forth and getting stuck in corners) My vet here at San Roque gave her steroids which has brought her behavior back to normal and given me more time with my dog.

We went for urgent care hours on Saturday. We were greeted warmly and our pet received excellent veterinary care. Our pet's condition, proposed treatment, and options were clearly explained. We felt heard and included in the decisions made about our pet's treatment. We did not wait long to be seen. We would recommend this pet hospital with our highest praise.

San Roque Pet Hospital is excellent! The staff was terrific, especially the vet that treated our dog, Dr. Beth Favaloro.

DO NOT TRUST THE HEALTH AND SAFETY OF YOUR PET TO THIS PLACE. I urge you to consider another vet for your animals.I have many complaints about this pet hospital, but recent incidents have made it clear that my dog is not safe in their "care". I took her in for an annual wellness checkup on 8/2/23 because I knew she was due for her rabies vaccine. When they examined my dog they said she was due for her Bordetella and Leptospirosis boosters and that was all she needed. I asked about her rabies vaccine and they went back through her records and agreed that in fact she was overdue for rabies. If I had not said anything they would have skipped her rabies vaccine. They didn't want to give her three vaccines at once so they administered the rabies and Bordetella vaccines and I scheduled a follow up appointment for the lepto vaccine. When I returned on 8/22/23 they were running 30+ minutes late and eventually the vet tech came out and asked if she could administer my dog's vaccine in the waiting room. She quickly gave my dog an intra-nasal vaccine (some of the liquid from it ended up on my foot) and then she left. I checked out and when I got home saw that the receipt said "Bordetella intranasal vaccine". THEY GAVE MY DOG THE WRONG VACCINE, A SECOND DOSE OF THE SAME ONE THEY ADMINISTERED THREE WEEKS AGO.When I called to confirm what had happened they were cagey and never admitted that they administered an unnecessary second dose of Bordetella. They certainly never apologized. They kept asking me to schedule another appointment two weeks later to get her Lepto vaccine. They did refund me for the cost of the follow up appointment where they gave her the wrong vaccine, which I guess is enough of an admission that they messed up.On top of this, we recently consulted the vet about flea prevention and it became clear that the staff here does not understand how the medicines they prescribe work. Our dog is on Simparica Trio, which contains a medication called Sarolaner that kills fleas when they bite a medicated dog. It cannot prevent a flea from getting onto your dog, but it prevents the flea from breeding and causing an infestation. The staff that I spoke to on the phone did not understand this and seemed to believe that Simparica Trio generates a force field that prevents fleas from coming into contact with your dog at all.So to summarize:- San Roque Pet Hospital was unaware of what vaccines my dog needed unless I asked for them.- They administered the WRONG vaccination to my dog in a haphazard way in the waiting room of the office because they were busy.- The staff is always rushed and we never see the same vet twice.- I am given incorrect information on the phone pretty consistently (e.g. saying we didn't need to bring a fecal sample to our appointment when we did).- The staff has demonstrated a basic lack of knowledge about how the medicines they prescribe work.We are changing vets. My dog deserves much better than this.

I brought my dog in last week for a cough. After taking him back for X-rays and making me wait over an hour, I went to reception to ask when my dog would be back. They said "oh it will take all afternoon. You can leave". I wouldn't have known that unless I went to ask. They diagnosed him with kennel cough and gave him antibiotics. Under their treatment, his kennel cough got worse. So much worse that it progressed to pneumonia and he has since had to be hospitalized for 2 nights. It's clear that the office is not a well run shop. Communication issues from staff to patient is the main reason I will not be bringing my dog back. And while I don't know if they misdiagnosed my dog, all I know is he got worse under their care and now I'm on the hook for thousands of dollars in hospital bills.

My dog loves going to San Roque Pet Hospital -- he always rushes inside -- even if it's for shots! The staff is friendly, efficient, helpful and kind. We've been treated by almost every doctor there and find them all knowledgeable, compassionate and erudite. It's a great consolation for us. Our dog has severe Grand Mal epileptic seizures and we need to know he's being seen by the best medical clinicians. San Roque is our home.
