Alex Depaoli is a highly professional caring doctor that treats patients with compassion; no rushing, very thorough explains all details of condition and treatment. Highly recommended.

In 1993 28 of us took part in a fetal islet cell experiment for type I (juvenile) diabetes. We all paid $5000. Four years later we were contacted by the National Institute of Health saying Sansum used contaminated blood products. Dr. Jovanavic and Sansum never checked the islet cells, which turned out to have come from abortions in Russia. The NIH checked all our blood for free as we were exposed to HIV, HBV, HCV, HTLV and "various other fungi and bacteria." I got HCV and HBV but fought off the Hep B, chronic Hepatitis C now for 20 years this summer. Please stay away from there for the sake of the 28 of us who were used by these unscrupulous doctors. I don't know how many of us are still alive. In hindsight I should have known better when Dr, Jovanavic didn't take part in stdy even though she is a type 1 herself. There are many other diabetologists and endocronologists in the area.

I was enrolled in a study at the Sansum Diabetes Research Institute on type 1 diabetes and pregnancy. Throughout the study, I was closely monitored by the physicians at Sansum and credit that with having a healthy pregnancy, resulting in the birth of a healthy baby. The staff was extremely helpful, courteous and professional. The doctors, whom I'd never met before, made me feel as if I'd known them for years. I wish I'd found this place 30 years ago, when I lived in the area. I highly recommend this medical center for type 1 and type 2 diabetes patients.
