“I have not had my car serviced here yet, but I called to ask if they could repair my AC. (After several calls to other mechanics in the area, who said they could, but not soon enough). The lovely woman I spoke to on the phone said they could, and soon, but that bc of the year of my Honda, I should not be having AC problems. Instead, she took the time to research this issue, and found a recall on my car! She told me to call the Honda dealership to see if I qualified for the extended warranty a free repair. And I did!! Her honesty and kindness says all I need to know about this business. They have been highly recommended to me in the past, and now I see why. I will DEFINITELY be taking my car here in the future! For the last nine years, I've been a customer there and they have always come through with flying colors. Flat repair, tire installation, and balancing, tire purchases, they've always come through for us. They really do put the Customer first, for real! Why would we go anywhere else? I can trust my very expensive car with very exotic wheels and tires to them. Especially their new facility on South Milpas, right across from the batting cages. “I found myself in a bit of a pickle when vacationing and Santa Barbara and my last night there my drivetrain malfunction morning came on and my BMW 6 series. I was 2 and 1/2 hours from home and unsure who I could trust. I read so many reviews and decided to call Haik's first thing the next morning. I was worried when I had to leave a message that no one would get back to me, but shortly thereafter Haik himself called me back, and not only was very helpful but was very empathetic! He fit my car in the same day and was willing to talk with my extended warranty company. I had to leave my car due to the extent of the problem in my partner had to be at work the next day. Haik was very informative. He explained the problem well and also clearly has a passion for his work! I was able to travel back to Santa Barbara within a few days to pick up my car and I'm very pleased with the quality of the work and service there!”
“Got stuck near Santa Barbara driving to SF from LA after Thanksgiving. One of the injector coils blew out and the check engine light came on. Not many people service Volvos around these parts, but Dave is one of them! I called and left a message (he was out of office for the Thanksgiving holiday), and Dave called us first thing in the morning. He was able to get the car in right away for a quick fix. He was very quick, efficient, and straightforward with our problem. Also thought he had found a solution for a squeaking sound from the car that had been going on for a while, but when he replaced the engine pulley bearing that he thought was causing the problem and the squeaking didn’t completely go away, he refunded the service fee. He was able to fix the problem with our injector coil completely and fix the car back to safe driving condition in a couple of hours. Ultimately found him to be straightforward, honest, responsive, and professional. Highly recommend him.”
“By far the best smog shop in town. Honest, reasonable, quick, professional and friendly. I've taken my old Jeep to them year after year for smog test and it would often fail, but Bear Automotive would always fix it and make it work for a reasonable charge when other shops would quote me insane repair costs to fix it. I highly recommend them.”
“I think this is a great shop that has plenty business and doesn't need to steal from people. I believe that when we don't get the outcome we expected, we tend to blame the mechanics. If we knew so much about fixing cars, why would we go to a shop in the first place. If a man does his work, he deserves to get paid. 1995 Chevy Surburban with hole in power steering.
