The Velo pro shop on State street gets all my bike business. In a world where Trek and Specialized buys up local shops, they are locally owned and independent. I have had excellent work done by the VP mechanics fitting a high end suspension fork, adjusting an eBay gravel bike and performing CPR on my old Waterford. Whether one of the "kid" mechanics or the grizzled wheel builder, I have always been totally satisfied with the work these guys do. My bikes mean a lot to me, and when repairs are beyond my skills, these guys always bail me out.

I have talked to these guys 3 times. 1st 2 times, they were just very unhelpful and acted like I was some kind of bother. 3rd time, he asked me for a spec on my cranks, so i was measuring them, and then he just got irritated and hung up. The SECOND you say BMX Race bike they act like youre a hassle. They dont know that BMX RACE bikes have a standard size for most things. They ask for measurements that they dont need if they KNOW bike parts. I understand this shop makes a lot of money on mountain and road bikes, and that BMX is not a lucrative market to them, but I despise the way I've been treated. I'd rather drive to Simi Valley than come here, and it's 4 mins from my house. I was a bike mechanic for 10 years, and the shop was e-bike and mtb focused, but I knew how to fix every kind of bike. Why is it so hard for them to understand? I would have bought a helmet, clipless shoes, and protective gear if they weren't SO unhappy to be at work. Shameful.

Great people. More than fair prices. I just took my bike in to get it fixed and Max took great care of my bike. He noticed a few other things and offered to fix them too which I agreed. In the end I paid less than I would have just to fix the initial problem anywhere else. Great people make this a great shop.

Roamed the store for almost 15 minutes and no one acknowledged to assist me. When I did mention my search with the service guy, his assistance was very brief. Provided no recommendation

Went in for an emergency fix bc I ended up with a bolt that went all the way through my tire and partway into the rim and was able to find someone who worked on it right away! They double-taped my rim so I can take my time finding the replacement I want, and set it up tubeless in less than 30 minutes. Nice!

I've been mountain e-bike shopping for a few months, and this shop finally had exactly what I was looking for at the perfect price. Firstly, the guys working there made me feel totally comfortable and were very welcoming, unlike most shops where it seems like the workers act snooty if you don't know what you're looking for or haven't really been apart of the "cycling" community. They helped me pick out the perfect bike at an AMAZING price. Husband also was in the market for one and found the model he wanted at their other shop in Goleta, but this shop had no problem transferring that bike to their own location within a day so that we could grab em at the same time. They were even nice enough to give us two water bottles EACH for free, and they also told us to just "rip it up" on our new bikes and our first tune up will be complimentary. All around a very solid shop with plenty of inventory from bikes to gear that you're looking for.

I went in the shop with an idea of what I wanted. I was given all the options and rode many bikes. I wasn't pressured at all to buy and the staff were very friendly. I am happy with my purchase and will be buying from them again.

Superb customer service. While on a cycling vacation in Santa Barbara, a disc brake assembly failed and after considerable troubleshooting by Mark and advice from Nate, a new assembly was ordered but would keep us off the bikes for two days. Nate and Mark arranged to install a temporary unit and then did the final installation with the new TRP unit. We did not miss any riding and are very thankful that we chose Velo Pro for maintenance support. Thanks again to Mark for his awesome support!

On a long bike trip, got double flats near store (thankfully). The guys fixed the flats while I waited and recommended a great coffee shop next store.

Very pleased with my experience at the Santa Barbra location. Was approached by Zach right away, he answered all my questions, he was very knowledgeable and a good listener. Choosing a bike that meets your requirements is not a easy task and it really requires you knowing the customer, so kudos to Zach for the great customer service.Solid inventory of all different type of bikes which was also a pleasant surprise. You can tell the business owner is doing a good job running the business. Thanks again.
