My wife is a caregiver who has a patient at Vista del Monte. She's been assigned this client for about a year now, and is only minimally pleased with the service. Visted on money gives their patients. For instance, just today, she went for her shift only to find out after she had been there for an hour that the patient had acquired COVID. NO NO NO WARNING SIGN ON THE ROOM ENTRANCE. That's a terrible thing for patients and caregivers!

Not impressed. Center is adequate to good, but the director is resting on his laurels. Collects outside clients to supplement his wages, as well the center's roster of paying clients. Unresponsive to my needs. Uninspiring, uninformative and told me I'd get only a few instructive sessions paid by insurance which limited his helpfulnedd and certainly wasn t what I needed...I needed structured exercise, but not with him. Granted, insurance drives the train, but my physician prescribed many more sessions than this guy wanted to give. Felt uncomfortable. Good if you're rehabbing or live there, I guess. The guy is more an amenity for the facility than a trainer or physical therapist.

My mom and step dad became residents at Vista del Monte right before the 2020 lockdown. To say that was a difficult time for the elderly and their relatives who loved them doesn't begin to describe it, as many of you know. Vista del Monte provided a safe haven for my parents in a beautiful private apartment. I was given regular bulletins from VDM that they were safe from Covid, and that the excellent staff was making sure their needs were met. From the clinic nurses, spiritual counselor to the food delivered to their apartment, I could at least know that even though I was prohibited by our CA governor from seeing them they were being wonderfully looked after and guarded against danger. When my step dad passed away from a stroke in June 2020 my mom continued to live there for another year. She loved her apartment there were she passed away peacefully in July 2021 surrounded by her own paintings (she was an artist) and Southwestern art collection. Fortunately the lockdown had lifted and I was able to be with her during her final weeks. My husband and I will always be grateful to Vista del Monte for giving my beloved mom and step dad such a great final chapter - even under the difficult circumstances.

I stayed at Vista Del Monte for a week with a relative who needed round the clock care while he waited for his room to be ready at their 'memory care' facility (which includes round-the-clock supervision and care.) These are the observations I made in that time : The staff is doing an excellent job caring for their residents and treats each person as a unique and valued individual. Every staff member we encountered knew my great uncle's name and greeted him warmly. The kitchen staff were fantastic and accommodating. Any time we had unique requests for condiments or extras (any time of day) they were always happy to oblige. There were two ladies in particular that remembered my name (even though I am a guest and not a resident) and made a point to address me by it, which I thought was very professional and kind. I believe their names were Jennifer and Melissa. On the occasions when we went to dine in the outdoor dining pavilion the wait staff was on par to any high end restaurant in town. I would know as this is what I did for a living for many years. I was shocked...especially considering they don't accept tips anyway...they were just that good because they cared. William stood out as being especially accommodating when our 'reservation' got messed up (my fault) one day. All of the medical staff who came to the room to give medications or do wellness checks were professional and kind. One woman (Juline) was particularly warm and cheerful. Everytime she left my uncle commented on how much he enjoyed her visits. The 'resident services' staff were always going above and beyond with any request I brought to them. One lady in particular (Angie I believe) stands out. When I needed to do laundry for my great-uncle, but it was after hours so their little shop was closed she went to her car and got her OWN laundry detergent that she happened to have with her and gave it to me to use! I could go on and I'm sure there are many staff that deserve specific mention that I've forgotten to include (I should have been keeping notes all week) but in general the entire staff was amazing and I don't have one single less than stellar incident to report.

Moving to Vista del Monte is one of the best things I've ever done. I have lived alone most of my life. I don't drive and have relied on bicycling to get around town. I needed a community setting. I didn't know anyone who lived at Vista del Monte so had to rely on my first impressions when I scheduled a tour. I liked it immediately. Stacie Dawes was my tour guide and answered all my questions. She detailed the experiences that I would likely encounter. She was very engaging and made me feel most welcome. I signed up for a studio apartment on the first floor that day! I have not regretted for a moment that decision. I've been here for almost 2 months now (2 weeks in quarantine). The food is great. The staff is always helpful. I've assimilated at my own pace and now take group walks every day and work out in their beautiful gym 3 times a week. They make regular runs to the grocery store, pharmacy, discount store and the bank during the covid crisis so I don't have to leave the complex. Like I said, this decision was one of the best I've ever made.

This place is a positive active and caring place to spend your retirement. There are lots of activities even socially distant ones during this virus to keep everyone inspired. The residents are welcoming and easily your new friends. Always smiling, the staff really cares about the residents. Oh and don't forget the wonderful food!! Always fresh and locally sourced. As a Senior Move Manager I always recommend Visa Del Monte to my clients Looking to make a move to a senior community. I strongly encourage Vista Del Monte

Beautiful retirement community with stunning views of the Santa Barbara mountains. A welcoming place with loving atmosphere and caring staff. In the middle of the community there is a large park with walking paths and benches. Very calming.
