Great value stay, huge rooms and nice and quiet. Location leaves a bit to be desired. No restaurant, but at least a little market store and a gym. Short Uber to restaurants and stores. Train station very nearby. Would recommend.

Unfortunately, our stay at Sonesta Simply Suites Silicon Valley Santa Clara was a disappointing experience, culminating in a series of disturbing events that compromised our rest and overall well-being. The first night was marked by a police intervention due to a drunken guest who yelled and disturbed the entire floor for over two hours. This episode made it impossible to sleep that night. The room was dusty, with carpet stained with food remnants and eggshells. Requesting extra cleaning for the room was a hassle, as the staff claimed to clean only once a week, but we found the room already dirty, so they should not have hesitated. Instead, I was told by the receptionist that they would need to speak with the supervisor, a truly ridiculous response for this situation. The smell of mold and the lamp next to the bed covered in dust and hair made the experience even more disgusting. The request to replace towels were another letdown, as the staff stated they only changed them once a week, an unacceptable policy for hotel standards. The bathroom wasn't any better, with dirty walls and stained floors. Additionally, the restrictions on using the coffee maker were absurd, limiting us to impractical hours, from 5 in the morning until noon.Overall, our 5-day stay was devastating, marred by a highly unpleasant experience that negatively affected our rest and overall well-being. I strongly advise against this property for anyone seeking a comfortable and, above all, hygienic experience. Our choice was influenced by the urgent need to attend a conference, but I hope this review warns other travelers against facing such disappointment.

Tech toilet. The rooms are not cleaned, you need to go and ask yourself and maybe on the third day they will clean it. And the upstairs neighbor also leakedRooms: Everything is old. Things that have turned yellow with time. Prehistoric air conditioner. Rusty lamps in the bathroom. Complete horror

VERY TOXIC!!! They’re extremely rude and disrespectful to everyone that walks in. Especially those who aren’t in the best situation in life. You guys should be ashamed. If you hate your job just quit. DONT SUPPORT THESE VILE PEOPLE!The ugly white lady who calls her self a manager needs to stress eating and taking it out on customers.

Very average hotel. Best asset is its location across street from Santa Clara University. Rooms are small but clean. Staff is nice but minimal. Parking is free. The room is not equipped with extra blankets towels or pillows. The heating system is dated. And you need something you have to walk to the front desk yourself. They don’t bring it to your room. Not a place I would stay again unless it was for a short stay and location was important.

I enjoyed my stay. It's not a luxury hotel, but my place was spotless and it was clean. The units are fairly modern and not worn down. The staff was super nice and this place has a laundry. It's within walking distance to Taco Bell, Safeway, Subway, 7-eleven, some bagel place and the SC police station (points for s-alliteration).I've stayed at "more luxurious" hotels since that were cheaper. Parking is $7 which honestly is ridiculous considering when I stayed was hardly anyone there. This really should be free considering other higher star hotels offer this for free. I think some staff understand this while one in particular is a stickler about that. My bed was sagging in the middle which attributed to some mild back pain at the tail end of my stay but I managed to sleep closer to the edge so it was okay.I'll always try to book at my main chains but I'd def come here again. Thanks!

This room was horrible. A room from HELL.I asked to see room first before I checked in. The room had bed bugs. The room had paint comming off the walls. When you walk into the front desk and that looks dirty and the hotel lobby looks dirty. . What are the rooms going to look like ? And yes the room was bad had bed bugs. And my wife and I ran for our life.and I said I want my money back. They said to call hotels.com . And I called hotels .com and they said to call back to select sonesta Oh and one more thing prostitutes we're walking in and out of that establishment. So if you want bedbugs and prostitutes then this would be your place to go

Would give them 0 stars if it was an option. Very poor service, the front desk girls are super mean to all the guests. You can ask them for any support and they would blatantly refuse and pass mean comments. I asked for one of the packages that were received and signed for by front desk. They made me come back from my room to front desk multiple times and then told me my package was not delivered, when it was showing delivered 3 days ago. Showed them delivery proof and then only they gave me my packet. Don’t stay at this place unless extremely important.I saw those girls overcharging some of the other guests.

The room was large, although some may find it a little old. The AC can be loud, although you can turn it off. Everything was clean, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The location was great for me, as several bus routes pass by. Not many restaurants around though.

Close to the train station. Not a very quiet place if you're looking to relax

I frequent hotels for work (about 1-2 weeks per month), but the Sonesta Simply Suites Silicon Valley Hotel is by far the worst I have experienced in the Santa Clara area. I booked my 6-night trip through Chase Travel Rewards for $724.44 which included $109.44 for hotel taxes/fees. I also brought my dog and paid a $75 pet fee. These fees were expected, but what was not expected was the $7.50 a night parking fee. In addition to the parking fee, I was also charged $8.78 for state and city taxes, even though I had already prepaid $109.44 in taxes/fees. When I asked for an itemized receipt upon check out, I was told that the printer was broken and that I would receive one via email around noon (an hour after checkout at 11AM).By the way, there is free street parking around the parking lot of the complex the hotel is located in. Additionally, there is a CalTrain parking lot next door to the hotel that is only $5.50 for 24 hours, so this parking fee charged by the hotel felt like a complete rip-off.The room itself was clean, but it had a musty smell to it upon arrival as you can see was mentioned in other reviews. While the room was showing it's age & use, it had a little coffee maker, microwave, dishwasher, and a 2 burner electric stove. The room I was in was located on the side opposite the parking lot on the first floor. It was quite noisy. I could hear trains late into the night and people walking around upstairs. You will also commonly find people smoking on the bench directly in front of the hotel entrance that has a sign stating no smoking should occurs within 30 feet. Ha!Overall, I had a terrible experience at the Sonesta Simply Suites Silicon Valley Hotel. The hidden fees and lack of transparency made me feel like I was being taken advantage of. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone and really wish I read the reviews before booking this hotel. It is really situations like this that had made the AirBNB business expand so fast. The entire purpose of me writing this review is that I see that the hotel reads all of the reviews. I hope they change their practices and work more on customer satisfaction instead of nickel & diming the customers (which has been mentioned in more than one review). I will addend this review with the response from the hotel regarding the double dipping of the taxes taking place. I am also more than happy to provide the receipts of my stay if it would help anyone prevent unexpected fees.

I recently tried to stay here on the 3rd of September check in was good. The issue was when I got to the room I was already skeptical of the sheets not being clean. Minutes after of laying down talking something shot a web in my mouth I let it slide like maybe i might be tripping...nope, it happens again. So I decide to get up and look at my sheet and it is a big bug. I was soo disappointed that I couldn't stay in another room because customer service said "They try to get the bugs out." I was soo uncomfortable so I just wanted a refund. The front desk at night shift told me 5 days again, no problem with him. Thing is I'm past 5 days it's now 9/9/2023 I called front desk and the two ladies I spoke to were really unprofessional laughing at my situation and questions on my refund. I feel like this hotel should have better customer service n management.

I went to Simply Suites in San Jose on El Camino today and when I walked in, there was no one at the front desk. I jingled my keys so someone could hear me, jingled my keys for the second time, no answer. I went and looked down the hallways... Only the housekeeper was there. I went back to the front desk and said "hello"... Someone from around the corner said, "I'll be with you in a minute". Once the woman came out I asked if they had a room with a kitchen available for next weekend, she said I needed to go online to check. I looked at her as of to say, "really?" She then said I could either book online or she could book a room for me. I asked if I could look at one of the rooms to see if it would be large enough. She told me I would have to go online to look and that they don't show rooms to guests beforehand. I asked if she was the manager, she said no and then she came out of her office and told me I could possibly see one of the rooms that housekeeping was cleaning if they would let me. She asked housekeeping if I could look at the room and the housekeeper did not respond to her, she just looked at her. The housekeeper did not move her cleaning cart that was blocking the entrance to the room, so I had to move the big cart myself and went in to looked... The room was small but it would have sufficed for our needs. It didn't look very new and it was dark... The bottoms of the doors were a little scuffed up, but I didn't really have a chance to look around for long. Housekeeping did not acknowledge me at all inside the room and then I walked back to the front desk with the women who had been at the front desk as she continued to say how they usually don't show rooms to guests. I said, "Well if I'm going to pay for three nights I'd like to see what the hotel looks like and she said, "That's why we tell people to go online to look." I asked her what her name was and she said "Imprita" or something like that. She's an Indian woman with an accent. I could not pronounce her name. I told her that she wasn't very helpful nor was housekeeping and she said that's why we tell people to go online and she continued to repeat that several times. I said, "Well, I'll go ahead and book somewhere else", and she said, "That's fine go ahead." I said, "I will." I could tell she wanted the last word. She kept talking at me saying to go ahead and stay somewhere else. I said it's not necessary for you to have the last word... She kept saying things as I started walking out the front door... She was still talking from her office at me so I stepped back in and told her I was going to leave a review on Yelp right now and she kept talking from the back room, I couldn't hear what she was saying at that point. Because of my experience at this hotel today, I would not recommend anyone to stay here, plus it kind of smells inside... I'm not sure if it's a slightly smoky smell or some kind of old food smell, but definitely does not smell clean or fresh and it's dated, and a little dark with a dingy feel altogether... Also, they have no swimming pool and no hot tub at this location.

I've been staying here for 3 weeks with my dogs and boyfriend. My son stayed 1 night with us he's bitten to no end along with my boyfriend and dogs . Thankfully fleas don't like me. We're constantly bathing our dogs doing what we need to do. They allow all dogs here yet don't treat the perimeter of the grounds nor the rooms. We had no hot water in the kitchen because it was turned off. When we got the room under the sink leaked like crazy. I was cleaning it constantly. They moved us to the room next door had no silverware no towels DVD player gone, and I'm sure we will be charged. The flee infestation is utterly ridiculous. This place is a piece of poop...I'm keeping it clean. For what we pay it's completely unacceptable.
