I’ve been coming either with my family or by myself to get from cables and keyboards to parts to assemble systems. There is a very good selection of deals and items; the staff is honest and knowledgeable.
It’s great to have a place like this around.

Im retracting my 5 star review. I've been a loyal customer for 20 years and I'll never spend another dollar after this. Took my pc in for a boot loop issue after installing a new processor. My pc was pretty embarrassing dirty no excuses from me. When I went to pick my pc up I was told Bent pins on the mobo. This gentleman wasn't interested in me as a client because I was ready to pay for a rebuild. He said the cpu was probably bad to as an off comment that made me question him. So bought new mobo tested new and old cpu there fine tested the mobo it was actually fine. One of my sticks of ram ended up being the culprit bought a tester tested bad. Looking through the bad reviews I see many people describing this issue from the same employee. Charged 100 for windows installation which they didn't do and charged 40 for the inspection which I bought they did. Also why not try to sell me a new build when im literally asking for it. Micro center opens may 30th 2025.

The store itself is not bad just the employees. I had an extremely minor issue with sound on my Macbook and the guy who answered the phone absolutely did not care and quoted me $750…. I’m not sure how something like this would come up to be as much as the macbook itself not to mention he sighed immediately upon answering the phone. Take your business elsewhere if you have any repairs that need to be done on any of your items. Luckily my sound system went back to normal after a couple hours but everywhere else I called quoted around $300. It just feels like there’s no care

As Frys and some other similar shops shut down, Central Computers is one of the few remaining computer hardware stores in the bay area. Knowledgeable employees and a good selection of computer hardware: CPUs, GPUs, cabling, memory, cases and so on.

acts like it’s a convenience when you ask for military discount and sells defective products

EDIT - changing to 5 stars. Amanda from CC reached out to refund the difference, even though the company did not have to. Really impressed, will be coming to CC for all my tech hardware needs.

Original review for context.
Great and wide selection! Customer service was a bit disappointing. I came in looking for a specific keyboard because of keychron shipping, luckily this location had it in stock. The price tag also noted it was on sale, so I was excited to get a deal. At checkout they told me they accidentally left the tag on from the previous week and that i had to pay the full price. Asked if they would honor the price, was told no.
Ended up paying for it, but it left a bad taste. Felt like it was their mistake that the tag was up, and that they should just honor that price. I think these are the instances where they would gain a loyal customer by doing that, but i understand they’re not obligated to do so! Just a bit disappointed as a first time customer.

They just fix stuff right. Click away blows chunks. They fixed a rig I didn't have time or parts to troubleshoot. Will return again and again.

Knowledgeable staff, helped me find what I needed. Was happy to find this place, it's not Frys, but it's second in my book. ?

Good day. Sad to say it was my best place to visit with positive and experienced staff, but not anymore. Recently I made a purchase of several items and in the meantime they are running a pretty sweet PC giveaway one of the entries were making purchases in the store for points in giveaway. Silly me assuming if I already made a purchase it would apply to my giveaway entry since I already logged in there with my email and phone number same as my store account and I thought it was linked, but then I found out you had to say it during check out to receive a special code. I went to the store and mentioned that to the store employee which he was surprised as me and unaware of that process at all as well as his colleague who he asked advice and then after reading through his instructions David decided to refuse me in my request for my points because he wasn't looking too happy bothered by me and my request, that was pretty obvious and his reply was rude and dry. My concern since anyone I was approaching during my visit was unaware of this particular giveaway policy, first of all there was no training, update or any instructions how to help customers at checkout for example something like hello do you have registered for our giveaway, would you like to have your extra points with the purchase here is your code you can enter it on our giveaway website under your account. Simple as that can eliminate unwanted experience and totally uncomfortable treatment at the store when you approach someone who has no idea about giveaway rules and reading them in front of you as you just asked them for help. An interesting thing, the initial employee who I approached first tried to help me after he heard David refusing me any help and brushing me off. He actually felt sorry and tried to ask the store manager for help, but I told him I already don't want a code and don't want to do any business in the future with Central Computers.

I love this place, and now with the demise of Fry's electronics they are even more important to San Jose and the Bay area. It's great to be able to walk in and talk to a live human being, to see product in person and find somebody that can help you with your technology needs. From cables, to hard drives, power supplies, chips, RAM and everything else you can think of they've got it, just a great place to buy parts, build a box, get your system repaired they're really amazing people. Highly recommend central computers, you won't be disappointed...
