I had a great experience here getting a hanbok for my daughter last minute for lunar new year. The owner was really nice and let me exchange a hanbok that I bought that ended up being too small and let me switch up the top and skirt of a couple sets until I found a combo I really liked. Prices were competitive and the quality of the handbook was great. Really happy!

We recently used the Mizzland service for the PaeBaek (Korean Tea Ceremony) for our wedding day. This place started off okay, but overall, they are lucky that they do not have much competition in the Bay Area. They seemed very polite and friendly at first and was responsive when initially trying to plan out the day. However, many things did not align on the day of the wedding.First and foremost, we had asked them if they would have a translator or be able to communicate the events of the PaeBaek clearly with our guests, as many have seen this for the first time. We had asked if they would need a mic for this so that we could have one ready for them. They said, yes and that they would be able to do that for us. However, on the day of, they didn’t communicate with our guests at all and rather our MC had to step in and guess what was going on and gather information from the family members. Then, at the start of the wedding, the lady mentioned that the current format of the floorpan, with the sweetheart table being closer to the center of the dance floor, would not permit them to set up the ceremony so that all the guests could see. So we had discussed with them moving the sweetheart table back against the wall so that there would be more room for the ceremony. She mentioned that would be plenty of room and still proceeded to set up the ceremony in the wrong direction, even after giving them more room. In the end, without having enough time to move everything how we would want it, we proceeded as is with my wife’s entire family not being able to see what was going on. This really broke our hearts. After the ceremony was completed and the vendor was ready to leave, we were getting ready to pay them for their service. We gave them an additional tip of roughly 8% as we thought this was extremely generous. However, they complained and made a snarky comment stating that normally folks will pay 2-3 times what we had tipped. I definitely would have tipped a little bit more assuming everything went well, but we are still upset about the way they went about it.Lastly, when we received all of our photographs and videos, we noticed that the lady assisting us with the ceremony was in every picture. We really didn’t feel like she needed to be in almost any of the photos as we understood her perfectly. We assumed she was experienced and would have known to position herself better or to try to stay out of the picture a bit but there are even some pictures where she is covering much of the bride and groom. She also rushed through much of the ceremony and was very rude when speaking to us.Overall, if you need a service for PaeBaek, I personally wasn’t able to find much in the Bay and don’t know how the others conduct their business. So this may be your best option… but just keep your expectations low and try to find a way to get them to not do what they did for us. We legitimately loved all of our other vendors but this one just didn’t cut it for us and we felt like we had wasted some money going through them.

The friendly owner set up me, my wife, and son with hanboks. Modern, but not too modern. Great selection if you're willing to wait!

I really loved this place. We got a whole set of hanboks for me, my wife, and son. It's an old school shop for hanboks. It's cluttered in a nice, nostalgic way. The owner is enthusiastic but not too pushy. The pricing is fair. They don't have a lot of inventory in stock, but have enough things to try on that you'll be able to order with confidence. It'll take some time to take delivery, so just plan ahead!

Very old and cluttered shop. Twice I called to ask about the hanbok selection and was assured there is a wide selection. When in store, nothing was hung out for display and salespeople were very reluctant to show stock. What they would pull out was a HUGE disappointment. Don't waste your time.

We used Mizland to hold a paebaeck ceremony during our wedding reception. My husband and I both don't speak Korean and I can barely understand Korean and yet they all made us feel really comfortable and helped us and our families carry out the paebaeck smoothly. It was such a fun experience to share that with our family and friends. They definitely helped us to make our wedding feel super special and we will always remember wearing the traditional Korean hanboks and carrying out all the special traditions fondly.

My family and guests really enjoyed the paebaek ceremony. Since my husband and I had eloped, this was nice to do since it included the family's participation. I was actually very tired from work and organizing the last minute details of the reception so I misunderstood Ms. Yang's instruction the day before the big day. It was my fault. However, Ms. Yang was able to accommodate my schedule and we worked things out, which I thoroughly appreciated! My guests enjoyed the ricecake and snacks, too. Really glad we were able to have a paebaek ceremony. =)

My mother and I came in to buy a traditional Hanbok for my great grandma for her burial and they helped with piecing everything together. Turns out they knew my great uncle as well! They offered traditional tea to my mother and I, and we talked about my family. It was nice connecting to women of my own culture even though I'm not full Korean. So much hospitality, I thank these women so much. ê³ ë§™ìŠµë‹ˆë‹¤!

I finally achieved a long desired goal: I just bought my first hanbok ! I have always wanted my very own hanbok ever since I attended a wedding in Seoul 9 years ago. I rented mine back then and always dreamed of having my own. My daughter has her own but she has grown out of it already and needed a new one for the dolchanchi we are attending in December. Thanks to Yelp I found Mizland and went there tonight. I was greeted by 3 beautiful ladies who all helped my daughter and I pick out and try on several colorful hanboks. Although my Korean is limited to only 10 words I was glad that I was able to communicate what I wanted and needed plus these ladies spoke good English. I was happy that we could all understand each other. They helped us find the perfect one! We even bought norigae, a pink coin purse and two pairs of the flower shoes. I forgot to ask if they have any white beoseon socks. Mrs. Yang (and the other ladies) was so kind and sweet to us. She will hem my daughter's hanbok and I can't wait to pick it up in a few weeks! I'll post pics after the birthday party next month.
