Sadly the pandemic closed down my long time hot yoga/Pilates studio. Not being the self-motivated type, I went from hardcore hot Pilates four times a week to NOTHING. As my body got visibly out of shape, I got depressed and couldn't muster enough motivation to change. Beginning of this year, after reaching my very peak weight (and lowest level of physical strength), I finally came to the realization that I have to do something about the situation. I tried a few studios and Rebel Rise hit all the marks for what I was looking for:1) Ease of commute and parking: The studio is located in Franklin Square, a small, quiet plaza in Santa Clara "downtown". It's easy to drive to and there are plenty of parking at the lot across the street.2) Small business: I truly appreciate a non-corporate/chain studio, without the the obnoxious headsets and/or take-themselves too seriously attitudes. The studio is well-rounded and down to earth. 3) Clean and orderly: This is a super clean facility. Owner Jenn provides plenty of heavenly smelling tea tree oil sanitizing sprays and wipes for students to wipe down mats, equipments, and blocks after use. For strength training classes, disinfectant wipes are used to wipe down weights and mats as students switch from one station to the next. The equipments are well-organized and varied. There are also mats you can borrow for the class if you forget yours. There's no shower but there is a changing room, as well as a water dispenser. Restrooms are shared with the rest plaza and kept very clean.4) Uncrowded classes: People are not jammed packed into a room. Strength training classes are 8 people max to ensure safety and distance while working out. I believe the yoga classes are maxed at 20. As a person who needs personal space/distance even prior to COVID, I very much enjoy not having people's feet right in front of my face while doing yoga. We don't have to park our mats in closely pre-marked spots either; I appreciate the freedom to choose my space.5) Friendly (not the unctuous kind) and supportive environment: Not only do the instructors greet you by name, all the students are welcoming and kind. I was very nervous about attending the first few classes, afraid that I wouldn't be able to keep up. The nerves were completely unnecessary. The longtime students were comforting and sweet, taking the time to learn my name and chitchat. It's not a competitive environment by any means. The classes are easy to adapt for beginners and you are not pressured to do more than what you are comfortable with.6) Variety of classes and schedule: There are 6 AM and 7 AM classes for those are enthusiastic about morning workouts. For people who are more time flexible, there are midday and early afternoon classes. Evening classes start at 5:15 PM and 6:15 PM. FYI, there are more classes offered than the schedule listed on the Rebel Rise website. Use the MINDBODY app to see HIIT classes, workshops, and special events (like free classes at Alo or Vuori). Coming from a hot Pilates background, I do chase a bit of physical difficulty challenge and favor the HIIT and strength classes. Yoga classes are great for stretch and balance practice in between. Due to past yoga related injuries, I appreciate that the yoga classes are not focused on crazy inversions and contortions. I do miss power yoga with a faster and continuous flow sometimes, but then again, HIIT is a decent substitute if you are looking for cardio and body resistance type of workout. About two weeks into the 3x a week one month trial membership, I signed up for unlimited monthly membership. Now two months in, I've gone from a complete couch potato to attending classes up to 5 times a week. It's not only because I enjoy the workouts, I also enjoy seeing my fellow classmates and the instructors. This is such a gem of a studio. I would encourage you to try it out if you are either looking to start or re-start a fitness habit.

It was fine. There was parking in front. They were welcoming to the point where I couldn't put my mat down to hold my spot cause they were talking to me and giving a mini tour which was kind of them. The class was a restorative class but the teacher who took the time to put little signs down to identify who wanted adjustments forgot to read that I did not want adjustments and startled me in the middle of a deep pose. It happens, no big deal. The studio itself is gorgeous I recommend you try it out. I only tried one class because it's far for me..

Honestly, I had previously been struggling getting myself to enjoy working out and being healthy again, but Rebel Rise with the instructors and the community sparked my passion again! I genuinely look forward to each workout, whether it’s a killer strength class or a yoga class. Each class is always centered around some sort of focus, which makes the classes feel even more personalized. I can’t imagine ever finding another community so supportive of each other’s goals!

If you're questioning joining Rebel...DO IT. My Rebel Yoga and Strength classes are the best part of my day. Seriously, I look forward to them all day long. The community is like nothing else I've ever experienced. All of the coaches and especially Jenn, the owner, truly care about each member and look out for us. At Rebel you get a good sweat, feel stronger than ever, and make lots of new friends along the way.

Lovely studio with all the good vibes! The space is always clean and the class sizes are small, in a cozy way. Take Vinyasa with Jenn, it’s my fave. They also offer a variety of workshops on top of their ongoing weekly schedule, such as sound healing, tarot, and more. If you’re looking for a studio where you feel valued and always welcome as a client, regardless of skill level, this is the place to be. Plus, you’ll love the decor ;)

I honestly could not be happier to have found this studio! It's not only beautiful, but the teachers are amazing!! They really know what they are teaching, so you feel seen and safe in your practice. No matter if you are a beginner or have been doing yoga for years, you'll feel you fit right in, I certainly felt that way after moving to San Jose. I felt right at home at Rebel :D

Rebel is by far one of the best studios in the South Bay/ Pennisula. The owners are amazing. Jenn and Keisha are both great yoga instructors. Mark is also great as he teaches sound healing and sometimes holds workshops. Rebel honors the tradition of yoga and offers something for everyone. I have taken a few strength classes there (pre-pandemic) and they are challenging and welcoming. The studio is clean, beautiful, and welcoming. The students are also warm and welcoming so it has a great community vibe. Parking in the lot out front can sometimes be a challenge, but there is plenty of parking across the street. Love supporting a woman owned local business. Give them a try! If you are looking for a great studio, that is truly welcoming to all people, give rebel a try.

How freaking lucky are we to have Casey and Jenn running this incredible place right here in Midtown directly across the street from The Breakfast Club! I have been working out with Casey 1:1 since February and she is amazing and has helped me get so much stronger and more comfortable in a gym setting. I have also very recently also taken up yoga with Jenn and small group fitness classes with Jordan and both of those has been so much fun while still giving me a serious workout that helps me get stronger while also respecting my limits. Gorgeous fitness studio, incredible instructors, inclusive vibe, tons of happy endorphins, convenient appointments via the MindBody app, plants and real art from talented local artists all over the place--what could be better? Oh, a location across the street from the best brunch place in town...oh wait. They have that too. LOVE IT ALL.

Rebel Rise Studios was able to pivot it’s Programm from In-studio to On-demand immediately with the order to „shelter in place“.I was impressed and happy to had the opportunity to continue with the workouts they were offering in-person, at home! The almost weekly personal check-ins helped me to stay on track. All workout styles are build on each other. If you attend a lower body focused strength training, your yoga class will most likely compromise that class. All classes are accessible for everyone.Casey & Jenn, and their entire Team are professional in cueing and guiding you through the class. They are very fun, enthusiastic and classy. The best news is that Rebel Rise Studio has a outstanding outdoor patio space, where they offer small group and private classes. With the pandemic the most gyms aren’t able to open its space. If you are seeking for top quality, fun & friendly instructors, this is the place to be!!! Check it out , you will not be disappointed.

What a gorgeous addition to our community! I love working out with Casey at Rebel Rise Studios and am so excited about this beautiful, female-friendly fitness destination. I can feel my body getting stronger without pushing past the limits that I’m comfortable with. This is a safe, welcoming space.

Rebel is the best for all kinds of workouts! With the patio attached to the indoor studio, it was fantastic to still have workout options through the pandemic. Casey's strength classes are always well structured and she always keeps your own abilities in mind while pushing you to be the best you! Jenn's yoga classes are paired to strength so you always get ALL the right stretches. Also restorative chillyasa classes? YES PLEASE.
