Was a wait at the register but had what we needed in stock and was on sale. Cashier Chris was extremely patient and helped us figure some stuff out on the app. Definitely recommend this store.

The store is very small, many people loitering around the entrance and exit doors, it’s also pretty dirty, and aisles were kinda bare. I love shopping at Safeway, but I wouldn’t return to this location.

The Safeway on Steven's Creek Boulevard in San Jose has long been a go-to for my grocery needs. Despite some shortcomings, particularly in terms of its physical appearance, the store continues to deliver in terms of product range and customer service.Firstly, it's worth addressing the elephant in the room - the store could greatly benefit from some remodeling. The exterior and interior both show signs of age and wear, which is somewhat disappointing when compared to other newer or recently refurbished supermarkets in the area. The lighting could use an upgrade and the store layout, while familiar, seems a bit dated. In today's world where shopping can be an experience as much as it is a necessity, a makeover could significantly enhance the overall ambiance and feel of the store. However, aesthetics aside, the Safeway on Steven's Creek Blvd has much to commend. One of the most notable strengths of this store is its staff. Every visit is made more enjoyable by the friendly and helpful employees. Whether it's a question about product location, needing assistance with heavy items, or checking out at the register, the staff is consistently courteous, professional, and eager to assist.Furthermore, the variety and quality of the products on offer are impressive. The store boasts a wide range of groceries, from fresh fruits and vegetables to a well-stocked bakery, deli, and meat section. The shelves are regularly replenished ensuring fresh and high-quality items are available. I've often been pleasantly surprised at the availability of certain hard-to-find items. In conclusion, while the Safeway on Steven's Creek Boulevard in San Jose could indeed benefit from a remodel, it remains a reliable choice for grocery shopping. The staff's commitment to customer service and the wide array of products available ensures a satisfactory shopping experience. It is a testament to the fact that sometimes, it's not just about the packaging, but what's on the inside that counts.

Been coming to This Safeway for years the building itself is very worn down. But I like the convince of how close it's to my house. You can find some really good deals along with the coupons, and the app. Hopefully they remodel this building. But don't move this Safeway to another location.

The friendly staff was very helpful. I see a lot of people complaining about the outdated interior in these reviews, but I really liked it. It was like I walked into a Time Machine before entering this store.

Great selection of gluten and dairy free options. I wish they had gluten free bagels. Service is typically pretty good but lines can be long.

We got a slice of the chocolate cake with sprinkles. The label said the cake was good to be sold through next 3 days. But clearly when tasted it once brought home, it tasted spoiled. Waste of our dollars and we don't live close to go and return it. Not happy!

Posted limited (1 hour, I think) parking, although unlikely strickly-enforced. There was quite a few people loitering in the lot, but the store was pretty empty. The building is old and dated, especially considering all the developments in the area. The staff was friendly and they had a good selection of beers/wines on the shelves.

This Safeway is a relic of the past, an old neighbourhood store rather than the sizeable and sometimes confusing grocery stores you see nowadays. Because of space, options are a little limited, but they use it well and it has everything you need, and it's just a walk away from its neighbourhood residents. It does suffer from traffic and parking problems thanks to two malls being built around it, sandwiched between them.

Cute little store and it's my first time going to Safeway location inside San Francisco as I am from Texas and we do not have Safeway stores but we do have Tom thumb's who are affiliated with the Safeway company. I was definitely able to find what I was looking for at this location. Thank you Safeway. Saying "howdy" from Texas.

SAVE YOUR TIME GO TO ANOTHER SAFEWAY! This place never has more than one register open with a long line, no self check out. Fridge area is old all the dairy products ect are all warm be careful buying food here. Place looks beyond outdated sign is from the mid 70's & sticks out like a sore thumb.

Don't bother with this Safeway, customer service is non existent. If you need anything that involves a manager just go somewhere else. I waited over 45 minutes at customer service desk waiting to return a broken rug doctor that did not work.Go anywhere else
