We set a date for Friday, I took the day off from work and had a 2 hr drive to give this guy my business. When I show up it's a ghost town, I kept calling and waited outside for another 2 hrs thinking they're maybe on lunch and nothing, that guy left me hanging. They never answer the phone and they operate out of a U-Haul rental shed. FTP for wasting my time. Unprofessional all the way.

My dad and I were looking for an engine builder to build a big block Ford for our 1967 F100. We found JGM by reading through a few Motor Trend articles. We drove up to Santa Clarita from Orange County and met Ryan. Ryan is a Ford engine guy and was very excited to build the 460. He even helped us find the 460 block to start our project. Ryan took over an hour out of his day to talk about the possibilities of this engine. He is extremely knowledgeable on the engine building process, very transparent, trustworthy and a genuine good guy and pleasure to talk to. We made the long drive to Santa Clarita multiple times and had numerous telephone conversations during the process. No matter how busy Ryan was he always took the time to talk to us and treated us with respect, this is a true reflection of his character. Ryan walked us through every step of his build process and their work is top notch. We got to watch a couple dyno pulls and this engine is a beast! Can’t wait to put it in our truck and are looking forward to coming back to JGM for another build. 5 star service from Ryan and the guys at JGM.

First and foremost I would like to thank Ryan and the JGM team for making this process of building an engine for my corvette one of the most fun experiences I've had with my corvette to date. Ryan has kept me involved and informed in the entire process and it's just been easy. I knew I chose the right shop when I visited the shop and Ryan and Gerry (I believe his name was) were welcoming and excited to show me my engine and EXACTLY what's been done to it. It's so hard to find shops that put pride into what they do and this shop certainly does. They stand by their engine building and repairs and put a whole lot of pride and love into everything they do. I will do business with no other engine machining shop and if you want a bomb proof engine built with love and years of experience, you should as well. Thanks JGM.Service: Motor building

My wife’s 2006 Tacoma 4.0L V6 needed a head gasket replaced at 275k miles. I decided to tackle the job myself and quickly realized the easiest way to do this was to remove the motor. After removing the motor and both heads, I realized the way to do the job right was to have the heads rebuilt and sealing surfaces refinished. By the way, resurfacing the sealing surface is a must if you are using the factory multi-layer steel gaskets. Asking around work, JGM Performance Engineering or “Jim Grubbs Motorsports” for the old schoolers, kept coming up as the place to go. I spoke with Ryan, the owner of JGM, and immediately I knew this was the right place to go. Ryan is extremely knowledgeable about all aspects of engine rebuilding and will answer all of your questions honestly. As an engineer, I tend to do my research and have learned the devil is in the details with this type of work. And JGM pays attention to those details and will get it right the first time. Even though they specialize in American engines, Ryan’s assistant Machinist used to work extensively on Toyotas and did a great job on the heads. I couldn’t be happier with the outcome. Both heads were rebuilt beautifully, sealing surface machined immaculately, and valve lash set exactly to manufacturer specifications. Almost forgot to mention, they polished the crankshaft and did a phenomenal job, as well as obtained the correct surface finish without taking off any material from the bearing journals. After it took me 2 months to reassemble the motor by myself, I can safely say the heads and crankshaft perform as desired. The motor runs like new and most importantly, the head gaskets don’t leak.Last, but definitely not least, Ryan is a stand-up person with excellent customer service. He is very personable and easy to talk with. He does not pressure you into any unnecessary work and listens to the needs and goals of his customers. Another thing that impressed me is his ability to remember people’s names and their projects. Overall, JGM Performance Engineering is definitely the place to go for your engine overhaul/repair needs. I am a customer for life.Service: Engine repair

My plan was to find a junk yard big block Chevy and have it rebuilt for my Blazer. I started doing heavy research on local machine shops and stumbled across JGM. After making my initial call and chatting with Ryan I knew I was in the right place to start my journey. Ryan went above and beyond to explain all the details and mechanics behind each part that we were adding to the build including a full shop tour! Today marked the end of the motor building journey as Ryan and I ran some pulls on the big block Chevy on the dyno and I couldn't have been more happier. Thank you to Ryan and the team over at JGM for a job well done!

hellow everyone , just a small note about JGM race engines.after many hours of phone calls calling a least 15 different machine shops ,most of them were the type that were just interested in doing a fast job and grab your money, they say there race build quiality but i dont think so. i had one shop in oceanside tell me after four times its clean enough l asked them to please send my block out and have it cleaned you see there a pro, race shop but they only have a small pressure washer! what a joke ,the next time i returned ,i was told its clean enough and the oil filter will catch the rest of the dirt in the motor and whats on the outside dose not matter because the hood will be closed and nobody will see it.needlless to say i took my block and crankshaft back lost all trust and faith. in a shop that states they have the machines well mabey they do but they for sure dont have the want or the care to make a customer feel good with leaving a project with them for a total performance rebuild!so l brought it to jgm not sorry really nice job they kept in touch every step of the way my motor is spotless it runs as good as it looks (Im sure it will) it will be a real powerhouse the machine work looks @measured perfect (bores only, it is all i could measure because it is in shortblock form).cant say too much more but i think it clean , spotless, its going to not only iook great but run great also thanks jgm outstanding service cant wait to finish it up @get it running!!!!! What started out with burnt valve on my previously worn out Ford 390 FE led to a complete engine rebuild. After asking numerous gear heads about a machine shop they’d recommend JGM is the name that kept coming up. Ryan took me under his wing and was excellent to work with. He gave me a tour of the shop and explained each step of the process that my engine would go through. The work that Ryan and his guys did was absolutely top notch. Stoked to have my grandfather’s old Ford pickup on the road again with freshly rebuilt motor pushing a few more ponies than stock.Service: Engine building

Took our BBC 454 jet boat engine in to be completely rebuilt. Ryan and his team did an amazing job with a constant line of communication with any questions we had. Always felt encouraged to ask any questions. We also had the engine dyno'd at the shop as well. Everything was done in house, great customer service, and definitely will be back. Would recommend to anyone and everyone.

The most recent review dated 07/14/2020 (1 star) is a complete contrast to my experience with JGM. I have called JGM more than once. I have spoken to at least 3 individuals at different times. Each representative was open to my questions and if they did not know the answer, they would get back to me in reasonable time as promised.Honestly, JGM provides service that is both personal with a family feel. With each interaction, JGM has proven to be completely transparent but more importantly, offering information that is relevant to your needs. In my opinion, this demonstrates a level of integrity that most businesses need to work on.Thanks JGMyou have earned a lifelong customer.....
