After taking my kitties to The Cat Doctor for somewhere around 30 years I am done with them. I recently took my cat for a check up because she was having some ear issues. Now they have a Tech come in and get kitty problems and any history. I guess the Dr's don't want to talk to pet owners anymore. Annoying! After Dr. Linger examined my cat and didn't even look at her ears until the Tech reminded her to do so. She had an agenda to run a crap ton of tests. Initial estimate was over $700. Stupid! She took some wax out of my kitties ears but wouldn't do anything but recommend a $300+ test on the ear wax. I opted in for basic bloodwork but no ear wax testing. So as a result I got no answers. I guess you now have to buy the answers you need in addition to yhe $83 office visit. Dr. Linger told me to the visible eye there was nothing wrong with my kitties ears. On my way to pay the $330 bill for no answers, I commented that I am losing trust in this business. A younger male who works there heard me and scolded me loudly in front of everyone in the front office area. He told me I was rude while he's Raising his voice at me. Then I had to call back for the bloodwork results and ask for the Dr. to interpret them for me. Later I took my kitty to a different vet and he immediately said wow, her ears are full of wax and dried blood. He rinsed them out very well, gave me some rinse to continue doing this daily along with some ear drops and actually seemed to care. This bill even with the ear rinse, ear medication and a shot of antibiotics was less than the $330 bill from The Cat Doctor. I guess this is a perfect example of why people complain about the prices and the care. This business has lost this long time client once and for all. I will never return! Dr. Tracey would be so disappointed this is what her business is doing today, it's sad and disgusting. All about money and they don't care one bit about your pet.

Unnecessarily rude front staff. First time this happened, I dismissed it as maybe someone having a rough day. This continued to happen consistently with each phone call/visit the past year or so. The care they are providing is average at best, and I certainly do not feel the need to continually put up with the rudeness. Taking our kitties elsewhere after many years.

This is strictly for the front desk staff. Someone needs to clean house and just get rid of them all. They are rude, condescending, and just toxic. They talk down to customers, withhold certain requests, and try to make people feel stupid. THEY are obviously the problem. If you don't like your job, then do everyone a favor and quit, so that more professional people can replace you!!

I have been going to The Cat Doctor and Friends for many many years. Dr. Linger is a fantastic vet and gave compassionate thoughtful and caring counsel for me and my elderly cats. She was there for me and texted me very quickly when I was in dire need of a response. She also was there for me when I had to make the very hard decision to say goodbye to my 17-year-old cat. Because of the The Cat Doctor my kitty got a few extra comfortable quality years with me. The front desk staff are all helpful and kind. They focus on cats alone which is also great, and always the quality of life of the kitty comes first with stellar veterinary expertise and advice. It’s also really nice that they have their own hospital care available if you need it! If you have cats in your home and your heart, please seek out the care of The Cat Doctor and Friends.

Such excellent care for our elderly cats. One would have died years ago going to a regular vet but instantly the Cat Doctor staff saw the issue and our cat was instantly better before leaving. Completely trust them.

Ok people, here is the review you are looking for. This place sometimes gets bashed in the area about being too expensive (maybe) but people you got to think about what you gettin for this price. Your cat does not have to sit in a crowded room with dogs barking and harassing your cat, stressing them out even more. The idea my cat is not getting that added stress is worth the extra bucks. Also they get a bad rap about being un compassionate. Although I have never experienced that, the ones who may have felt that way, may have experienced the transition period of ownership to Dr Linger. So give them another shot. Dr linger is amazing with the animals, as well as all the front and back staff. They especially love when I bring in my street sense in for her routine blood bath battles. Now 16 she is even more fired up, but they love her and look forward to her arrival. Every vet is expensive people, which is a shame for most times our fury friends are always going to take a back seat to their health care. Some advice, get pet insurance it definitely helps with the cost of vet bills and you can take your cat for the best medical treatment in California at The Cat Doctor.

I love this place! They're always able to get us in last minute. Only issue is that the appointments are looong and I've been left waiting in the waiting room for 30 mins and hold by phone for more than 5 minutes twice. But service to my cat is great and I love patronizing a business that is cat focused!

Quirky but friendly staff but they are cat people so I would expect that. As with any Vet, they recommend EVERY possible food, drug, tests and procedure and I can hear the cash register chu-ching with every suggestion. Still, I wouldn't take my kitty anywhere else.

The five stars is for the reception staff who answers the phone. They were so nice and polite and sweet. They were able to help me with a referral.I personally did not visit this vet or have my animals seen by them. But omg I love their front desk!!!

The worst dr I’ve ever gone to. They asked me to drop my cat off at 10:30 because she had been vomiting for 2 days. It took the dr 2 hours to call me & say they couldn’t examine her because she was resisting. This is the 1st time I’ve ever just dropped my animal & not been present for examination-she probably would have let them if I was present holding her. Then she stated does she have her rabie shot? I said no my 2 cats do not go outside-then she said well, I won’t see her again if she doesn’t have one. Nothing said about her illness until she asked what her symptoms were-I thought to myself maybe she would know if she me along with my cat. At that point I was tempted to just say I’m picking her up. Then she said well we will have to sedate her to check her & give her an X-ray & I can’t be certain we will see anything. I was appalled after I hung up with no concern for my sweet kittie who was very sick. The end of the conversation I said just tell me how much to sedate & xray-she said I will have one call you with the amount-she called about 1/2 hr later & started $75 for seeing her $230 for X-ray & on & on. She said if we have to do exploratory surgery we are not open all night to care her. At that point I said “I’m picking her up” left my house & picked up-I would NEVER leave any animal there-what a waste of time & any Dr who can’t examine a cat shouldn’t be a cat dr!!

The worst, been going there for years, like over 25 years. Dr. Tracy was wonderful and gave great service, loved the Kitty's, and had fair prices and never tried to up sell you. When Dr. Tracy passed away a few years ago, it was and has been all down hill ever since. Very sad. I would not recommend this Cat Doctor, sorry for telling the truth, but it's a no go. And trust me, we have taken 5 of our cats to them over the last 30 years, 3 of them were put down by Dr. Tracy and 2 are on their wall of fame. Gave them many shots over the last few years, benefit of the doubt. Don't do it.

For starters, I'd probably hire a better receptionist/front desk staff. The receptionist who I just spoke to today was reluctant to even give me an appointment for routine check ups and then found it problematic that my cat had a sensitive stomach issue which I wanted to discuss with the vet as well. She stated, "We don't give second opinions" when she inquired if we had a vet and I responded yes, but we wanted to switch to a vet with a focus on cats. Makes me wonder what in the world do you actually agree to see!?! The receptionist put me on an over 10 minute hold. A very bad first impression indeed. You'll definitely not win new or create ongoing customer relations with such an attitude. Two big paws down!

The Cat Doctor staff were incredibly compassionate, patient and professional in my recent need to euthanize my elderly cat. When I called to inquire about an appointment I could barely speak and Jackie I believe answered and was so so kind and helped me get through the phone call and helped me get in there within the hour before they closed on a Friday. When we arrived, they put us in a room right away so I could grieve in privacy while filling out the paperwork. The Vet who came and saw my kitty was super kind and calm and patient. She non judgmentally asked questions and was frank when I needed the truth. She helped me conclude it was time to put my kitty to sleep. She explained the process at every step and did a quality of life examination first so we could determine if now was the time or not. Her and the nurse were very gentle with my kitty all throughout the process. After doing research that day, they were by far, the most affordable for end-of-life services.
