Chanticleer Veterinary Hospital is full of a great staff of women. I took my cat today for a check up and he purred through the entire exam. The doctor was thorough and gentle and I was relieved that she did not suggest a bunch of unnecessary tests nor harass me about allowing my cat to go outdoors. Rocco was so relaxed in the doctor’s care that he actually appeared to be reluctant to leave! Anytime anyone asks me for a vet recommendation, this is where I send them to.

My sweet Gidget has been going to Chanticleer Veterinary Hospital for a couple of years and the staff offer exceptional service. Fast efficient and always reasonable cost! My sweet little one had her teeth cleaned last year and 3 vaccines yesterday (not one yelp or cry) it was wonderful. I know they know what they’re doing-they have so much experience and an extremely loving approach to address her needs! Thank you Chanticleer!

The staff and Doctor at Chanticleer Veterinary Hospital are some of the best and most caring people around. If you have an animal that is in need of care, this is your place. You will find everyone willing to make sure that your animal is taken care of, with the highest quality of care.

Dr. Buddy gave my dog a very high dose of tranquilizers to the point that we spent the night at the emergency vet for signs of toxicity. She didn’t bother to be present for our check out, didn’t follow through on prescribing any meds that were discussed in the appointment. The vet seemed stressed, rushed and overwhelmed, I should have never trusted her. When my dog came home she walked in the door, but after laying down became truly unresponsive, and stopped breathing for over a minute before gasping for breath then not breathing for another minute, her heart rate dropped below 50. When I called the vet back she said “oh shoot it’s probably all the trazadone from earlier I didn’t think about that” she had to call poison control for advice on the care she provided… and we were then recommended to go to the emergency vet. It was the scariest experience I have ever had with a vet.I had gone to dr. Meadows previously with Chanticleer and thought we would continue to receive excellent care. I was wrong, I will never trust this office again.

I have been there a few times, the vets and techs are polite and helpful, and will talk to you, where other vets might just take your dog and disappear for a while, come back and just dump exposition

After being sent home, I had to callDr. Budde when my dog became unresponsive, her heart rate dropped to 48 and she was only breathing intermittently, 20 breaths in 20 seconds, no breath for 40... there was nothing in our follow up care that alerted me that this could happen, it said she should be able to walk around and might be sleepy, there was nothing to watch out forWhen I called Dr. Budde, she was flustered saying "oh I didn't think of that." in regard to the multiple doeses of trazadone and gabapentin that "didnt work" earlier. "those are probably hitting now." She had to call poison control to consult on the care she provided. They then recommended that we take our dog to the emergency vet for overnight monitoring due to her symptoms. We are two days out from the start of this, my dog, who never struggled to walk before, is still struggling to get up and balance. Chanticleer did cover the cost of the emergency vet and that's about the best I can say for this situation.

Friendly and professional staff, they doted on our cat while she was there for surgery. Liaised with the SPCA on our behalf. Dr Rothstein is wonderful.

Jack our adopted 11 year old Siberian Husky is totally at home with Chanticleer staff who took care of him before he was adopted. Dr. Meadows recently examined Jack: I have never seen a more thorough examination of a dog! She attended to all of my questions about Jack’s care and the best part was Dr. Meadows’ remarks about how healthy Jack is at this time. We’re grateful for the care Jack is receiving at Chanticleer Veterinarian Hospital.

We've been longtime clients of CVH and prior to Covid (and Dr. retirement) the practice was always great. Currently, for some reason, they are unable to keep vets and only have Dr. Meadows. She has been very unprofessional in my dealings this past month, both my dogs dealing with chronic diarrhea; twice it took over 48 hours and repeated calls by me to get responses, then over a week went by to reply to an email about her recommendations. When I replied that the week interim was of no help she dropped us from their practice. Sent records by email with no context or reasoning. Dr. Meadows provided subpar care and when I complained to her, she dropped us. There are so many other vets in our area that are professionals but it's sad to see this practice go in the toilet. I recommend you find an alternative if you want professional, considerate, timely care for your loved pets.

From the initial phone call up until check out, everyone was understanding, accommodating and patient. The veterinarian explained everything in detail. My dog was given free allergy medicine as well. Thank you so much!
