“Botanic & Luxe is such a lovely spot. I love stopping by whenever I’m in downtown Santa Cruz. The staff is always so friendly, and the shop has a gorgeous selection of locally made art — prints, paintings, pottery, candles, and so much more. The aesthetic of the store is stunning, and it always smells amazing. It’s one of my favorite places to pick up a thoughtful gift.
I also really appreciate how the staff wraps purchases so beautifully — it adds such a sweet touch. I recently visited with my mom after we stopped by a craft fair happening downtown. She had bought some perfumes from one of the vendors and accidentally left the bag behind when we were browsing in Botanic & Luxe. After we left, she realized it was missing. We called the store, and at first the woman working (I believe her name was Heather) didn’t see it, but she took the time to look again and even called me back to let me know she’d found the small bag. We went back and picked it up without any issues.
Overall, the customer service here is incredible, and the shop itself is a true hidden gem full of quality items. Please shop local and support small women-owned businesses — places like this deserve it!”

Love that they have mini variety options of some of their staples for gifts. They have a mix of local makers as well here, which is always nice when you want to shop local. Everyone here is always super sweet and they also host events sometimes too which is a blast! Highly recommend!”
“Miss Jessie May's is such an awesome treasure in downtown Santa Cruz! It is one of the few places left in downtown town Santa Cruz that still has that unique classic Santa Cruz charm. They are a goldmine for vintage/antique treasure hunting! From vintage postcards to jewelry, cuff links, trinkets, antique zippos and other cool classic lighters... Jessie May's has some of the coolest and most unique selection I have found! If you are a collector of cool vintage and antique items, do yourself a favor and hit this spot up if you're anywhere near Santa Cruz!”

This was my first time visiting and found most everything that I was looking for. The downside was that I left without buying a specific lapel pin in the case at the counter. Unfortunately I'm heading back to Missouri without it.

“Surf Life was definitely the best shop to look for our souvenir hoodie at. Of course it's summer, but all our kids needed a hoodie because that's the thing these days. I liked Surf Life the best out of all the shops because this store had much more space to move around in. It felt much more organized than the other stores. They have a huge display of hoodies on their wall and not to mention, unique styles you could only find here! The staff was a delight. Very kind. They asked if we needed any help as we browsed at their selection. They have other clothing items such as sweat pants, tanks, t shirts, stickers, bags... and more than I can remember! When it was time to pay, my daughter wanted to wear her hoodie out (yup, in the hot summer sun) so they offered to cut off the tags for her and put her current hoodie in the bag. She loved how soft the inside of the material was and pretty much didn't take it off the rest of the trip. I liked the quality of the material and felt like it was worth every penny!”
