The hours are bad (only open 9-5 mon-fri somehow), there's no urgent care services at this location (!), and they are super understaffed. When I try to get any kind of appointment for anything the usual response is "we can't find any appointments, sorry" or something 3 or 4 weeks out. This is including appointments at the Scotts Valley and Watsonville locations. When I message my doctor, I almost never hear from her, just a random assistant. This has been getting increasingly bad for the three years I've been here, and it's at the point where getting any help with anything is really tough. I know health care everywhere is pretty bad, but this place is just awful and you should avoid it if you have the choice.

We were told to come here for an emergency appointment for our 6 month old son. After speaking on the phone with Kaiser they pointed us in the direction of Santa Cruz. We told them we'd be coming from 45 min away and would be late. Regardless we were told to come anyway and upon arrival got turned away. After advocating for our 6 month old son who had been puking they still refused to check on him. Absolutely horrendous. Do better Santa Cruz Kaiser. This is unacceptable.

I like that the Santa Cruz Kaiser pharmacy is just a five minute walk from my home. I find the pharmacy techs and pharmacist to be professional and kind. I've never waited more than ten minutes for prescriptions to be filled. The only negative issue for me is that they're closed during lunch, but that's pretty easy to work around.

Call timed out after waiting for 35 minutes to get pharmacy questions answered. Never even spoke to a person. Useless service. Very disappointed.

Attitude problems and no interest to help customers. Operate like robots. The good thing is there generally is a short line to get to the robots.

I have been with Kaiser since the 80's. I am very happy with the care provided by them. If you are not comfortable with your physician, Member Services can help you find a better match. We patients have a responsibility to be a partner in our care. I find the staff to be warm & competent. In choosing a Primary Physician you must find someone you can talk to & who is willing to listen to your concerns. We all must advocate for & engage in our care.

This is the biggest rip off HMO in the country. Must use their overpriced pharmacy, located only in Scotts Valley. Even with insurance they charge up to three times the prices of Costco without insurance. Only Kaiser doctors, and, might I add, $180 for just a phone call. Stay away from this organization at all costs. Pay more for another, and undoubtedly you will get a lot more.

I went in to see if I can get an appointment and unfortunately spoke with a front desk staff, Sarah Townshed, who had a negative tone and looked at me like I was dumb after told her that I wanted to look up Kaiser provider backgrounds before deciding who my PCP would be. It's people like her who prevent people from going to their medical visits. I will not returning to the Santa Cruz location, but had a great interaction with staff at Kaiser Watsonville and will return there even though I live in Santa Cruz.

Went in for a routine follow up Blood Pressure check, took no more than 5 minutes, but I had to wait 45 minutes to be seen. meanwhile people that went in after me were seen. when I went up to see why it was taking so long they said they had an emergency in the back. I find that hard to believe that they can help other people but take forever to help someone that's only trying to be there for about 5 minutes to check their blood pressure (an appointment the doctor set up, not me)

Kaiser Santa Cruz County is just getting their feet wet in this county. They don't have an emergency room of their own and that can be quite important. I have been in the emergency room at Watsonville community hospital twice in the last four months with someone else who was sent there by Kaiser Santa Cruz County. The first time the person was referred there by Kaiser with a PTSD emergency and was told a psychiatrist would come by. Watsonville Hospital said that Kaiser did not yet have a psychiatrist signed up to visit Watsonville Hospital, so the patient waited for 12 hours to be ambulance taken to Santa Clara. Second time in emergency room, patient was referred to Watsonville emergency by Kaiser because it's he was it complaining of chest pain even though the Kaiser clinic office EKG said there was no problem. They said a cardiologist would be at the hospital because there was no Kaiser cardiologist available in Watsonville. Hospital has no cardiologist and so patient was charged $355 co-pay for another negative EKG and a blood test that could have been conducted at the Watsonville Kaiser clinic for a much cheaper co-pay. While we were there, I heard someone mention that they had gone there from Scotts Valley Kaiser; folks that's a long way to go for an emergency room visit, especially if there is commuter traffic (that might take 1.5 hours one way in traffic). I would like to suggest you wait for Kaiser to have an emergency room on this side of the hill before you sign up.

VERY unhappy with Kaiser OBGYN. My doc was not friendly, did not ask how I was doing, but was more concerned about my weight gain and why I did not want TDAP shot. I got bullied (scare tactic) into getting TDAP even though I did not want to take it. I was also constantly asked about inducing and wanting to induce me before my due date, even though I did not want to be induced for a third pregnancy. Lastly, no good outlook on herbal or natural remedies. Shame on you Kaiser.

I love this place and I do not like going to the Dr at all until I toSanta Cruz. The front staff girls are so nice and do just a great job. Then let's talk about Dr Belinda Magalanes , she has such a kind heart and it really shows that she cares for people and enjoys her job. I have never had a Dr take me seriously about my shoulder pain until I met this wonderful lady. I get cortisone shot in my shoulder and pain is gone!! Why any other Dr has not offered me such a simple solution I will never understand. I am truly great full to have her as my primary care Dr. she deserves a thousand stars!!!

i've heard that the quality of Kaiser doctors varies widely by location. Dr. Choi was my primary care doctor. Not only is she rude, unempathetic, but I think she's actually dangerous. Is she the worst doctor I've ever seen? Probably not, but she's close. I was on a medication for 6 years that she decided on a whim I should stop taking. She referred me to a pharmacist I have never even seen, who I only spoke with on the phone. The pharmacist, not Dr. Choi ( because she didn't want to be bothered) tapered me way too rapidly off the medication & I had a near seizure & crippling side effects for months. I'd say that's irresponsible.
