Crazy good thrift shop. I haven't been in a few years. It's just as good as I remember. In fact I lied. It's better. The owner knows her store and all the items like the back of her hand. She can help you find anything!

Contracted here May 2019-Sept. 2022, when I left because I was in the middle of negotiations to sublease a space for my own store.**The current owner yllauxes & otherwise hara$$ed me for years. The abu$e began in May 2019 when I started selling out of this store as an independent contractor, & it escalated when the abu&er became the store owner during COVID.He often asked for lauxes favors & groped my body parts on several occasions--all very unwanted behavior--& would also get insanely upset when I set boundaries about not doing his work for him or getting Covid testing. Hard evidence of theft.I dealt with years of lauxes harassment (leering, "I love you" notes, asking me to show him my breasts, constantly in my personal space, making comments about my body, asking me if I wanted to close the shop and go upstairs & make out (he lives above the shop), which began when I started in 2019. At its worst, he grabbed my waist & my buttocks, unsolicited & uninvited, on many occasions, in the store, both during & after hours.I did not entertain any of this behavior. I dreaded it. I told him to stop. I said no.A good 25% of this, by the way, happened in front of customers. He seemed to get an extra thrill humiliating me like this in front of strangers. Twice while his gf across the room.I told my friends. I told the former store owner. She said, "Go to therapy". I did, summer 2021 until I lost my ability to pay for it Oct. 2022.Ironically, the day I decided to pull out of the store, the owner told me I had 30 days to leave. Intending to make me jobless 2 weeks after my bf lost job & 6wks after miscarriage. But no reason stated (seen him tell several ppl to leave before that he just didn't like) & didn't care to ask why because we had been unable to have constructive conversations many times I had tried in the past. & it didn't matter. Because I was opening a store. Plant Store (see "***") had guaranteed the sublease to me weeks prior. They just needed a couple of weeks to write up the deal. Great. I'd move in that October, 2022.I want to emphasize that I was a 1099 contractor, not an employee. Diff. legal rights. I paid him rent, commission fee, worked the store several days a week without pay (spoken agreement between contractors and owner), & paid my own taxes. Contractor fees paid store rents & some. However, his frustration over my not engaging in a romantic or lauxes relationship with him led to anger/abusive behavior by the time he was given the store by the former owner. Gaslighting, he'd yell at me about something totally absurd and sometimes minutes later act like nothing had happened. Bluntly, a very lazy and selfish person, although he'll throw money around on occasion to convince people otherwise. He'll give a houseless person a $50 if someone's watching, but he won't pay his "friends" on gov't assistance/welfare more than $10/hr. & this man brings in $500K a year (before expenses).many issues, few charactersSomeone ODed and died in the Royal apts above shop in Aug/Sept 2022. The owner is also apartment manager here, supposed to live on-site. However, he lives in his wealthy girlfriend's beach house. He did not respond to repeated complaints about a smell in the apartments. 911 was not called and the body not found for FIVE days. In heat of summer, no A/C. The smell permeated the apartments, MZ & the adjacent retail store. Heartbreaking for the family & a public health issue.People can change, & I hope that happens, but this needs to be documented. In most cases, this isn't the first or the last instance of abuse. Awful to speak out & rarely done because it completely sucks. Is it normal for a man to 1/2 serious joke about having xes w his friend's daughter "once she's 18"?Spend money elsewhere.**Unfortunately, A&L backed out on their own deal abruptly. Supposed MGL lease written like NNN. Asked me to "take their word&

Love this store! Been looking at it online for the past few weeks in anticipation of my partner and I’s trip to cali. This place was the one that stuck in my brain. Great service, I think the associate who helped me was named Storm. Super friendly and the place has great vibes. Bumpin music and good prices. I can’t wait to go back!

Its windy out, I pop in and in less than 20 seconds I choose a light blue shirt jacket marked 48 dollars. The really tall guy rang it up adding ten dollars to the price. 58 and change went on my bank card. There is no need to rip off people on already overpriced stuff. He clearly is skimming money at the end of the day personally robbing people . Hate santa cruz. Hate him

I love a lot of the vintage offerings here but it's really expensive now and it doesn't have as much merchandise as it used to back in the early 2000's. The vibe is just different now.

Nice clothing store with vintage clothing and more. The window display is funny and entertaining. Friendly staff with good humor. The area has changed and the once enjoyable sunny walk down the street is being transformed by large multistory buildings going up. I can only wonder how long before this store and the building it resides in are knocked down. Visit this and the last few remaining businesses before they are gone.

oh my god im only sharing this because im throwing out a shirt i got from there lamenting the cost of it…but when i went i had been wearing the same clothes for three days (long story) and was well aware that i looked raggedy and out of place ?? i gathered up just enough clothes to have something to finally change into and the lady at the counter said something along the lines of you do know you have to pay for those before you leave? assuming i wouldnt be able to. And when i was paying and she announced the grand total i asked her to throw in an expensive and ugly little hat just to tick her off!!!!!! Godspeed to all who enter ?? ??? its beautiful inside even if you’re only going to look about! just be careful if you are of color and havent showered in a couple of days LOL you’ll be subject to suspicion and scrutiny……<3

I LOVE this store! They have a huge collection of vintage clothes, as well as one of a kind clothing, shoes, and accessories. The staff is helpful & polite. Every time I go here, I leave wishing I had unlimited funds, so I could buy everything I like.

Tried calling to see if they were open due to poor weather conditions no pick up called twice send my partner in to see if they're open as they wanted to grab some things if anything caught their eye. She gets there it's open I try calling again and the lazy a** employee just let it ring doing nothing tried again same result. There are some killer finds that can be found but staffs got the can't and won't be bothered mentality that'll drive off return customers but what can you expect when you hire that kind of mentality

There was a woman working there who was literally COMBING LICE OUT OF HER HAIR behind the counter. She had latex gloves on and a lice comb and was casually combing lice out of her hair between ringing customers up. She had white hair and was older. I was terrified.

didn't see the no backpack sign, understandable that a thrift store wouldn't want backpacks and im used to that however there's usually a way to keep your bag somewhere safe. i was told backpacks weren't allowed and that I could keep it behind the glass front door and that i would have to watch it if it was there. that made me kind of uncomfortable so i asked if i could put it out of the way behind the counter. i was given a stern 'no' also told 'i try to make exceptions but it's hard to say'. ok. brought the bag to the car and came back. interesting to see at least two other people in the store with full sized backpacks. i went to the counter and asked 'well is that backpack okay?' she seemed to pretend she didn't see the backpack right in front of her and said 'well ill just RUN after them'. cool. not shopping here. this is all to say, no backpack policy. the one in San Jose has cuter stuff anyway and the woman who works there is super nice.
