Terrible experience with the pharmacy manager there. Kept sending my phone call to the menu without even answering. Spoke with someone in the main store in order to get someone in the pharmacy on the phone. Asked if they had the medication available for my prescription or could order it. The manager wouldn’t even check if that was an option, would only tell me they didn’t have it in the store now. They wouldn’t check other Rite Aides in the area. Wouldn’t look at the disturber. Called another Rite Aide and they were able to check the availability right away. He spent more time NOT looking up the information and telling me he wouldn’t check than the time it took the other pharmacy to check their system. They guy was rude, uncaring, and ambivalent to the suffering of others. He said he was the manager. If this is how Rite Aid runs their ship, I’ll make sure to never get my prescriptions or other necessities from there. The other location was fine, but this is a clear reflection of the company by keeping someone like this in management (if he really was the pharmacy manager).

When the assistant manager, Maria, decided to take the LAST person in the long list me after opening her register, and the store manager on site for the evening told me "I will not educate her on proper procedures", I decided to leave a review. They are chasing away business with their BAD ATTITUDES. This was today 7/1/2023 at approximately 6:20pm. I was in a line behind an old gentleman who couldn't find his ID to buy beer and there was a long line behind me.THE LACK OF COMMON SENSE, training, customer service and basic interaction skills, displayed by the employees is sad to see nowadays. Had to do some quick shopping and this was very convenient. It was empty, with no line and it was a quick in and out. Good stuff. The cashier was friendly and helpful.

If you've ever walked into here from Whole Foods you'd feel confused. It's probably my least fave out of the pharmacy stores here. V sketchy, not very clean, but they have thrifty ice cream and good parking!

1 hr to get a flu shot that was previously scheduled is no good. No store bathroom, but used to that. All timeframes missed. Surely short staffed or the store is not paying enough.

This is a standard Rite Aid. Just wanted to point out I overheard a staff conversation discussing how they don't carry many makeup shades in darker colors because of the lack of diversity in the area. So if you aren't white, it's unlikely they'll have what you need. Hope I saved you a trip.

Was having some trouble getting in touch with the pharmacy by phone. It's a little better now. Called a couple of days ago and a person picked up the phone instead of going around in a loop with their automated menu. I guess customers' calls to customer service saying they would switch to Walgreens worked. Only other critique is that I was 10 feet from the cashier yesterday and he turned and walked away to someone who was 50 feet away to talk to them. He didn't say, "Excuse me I'll be right back" or anything. I thought that was a bit rude. Luckily, the next cashier finished with the previous customer and was available quickly. She was very polite and pleasant.

I received a text from RiteAid to refill my prescriptions, as they were due. I went in to pick up the prescriptions for both myself and my daughter. That is the pretext for this encounter. (Our prescriptions had been transferred from another pharmacy 3 months ago after we moved back to Santa Cruz). No one was at the pharmacy counter and the pharmacist, Errick Craven, looked up at me standing there and said "wait a minute". That was the stunning beginning of his rude and unprofessional conduct. I stood back and waited and then he then motioned with his right arm, pointing to the cash register at the far end of the counter (without saying a word to me). Things went downhill from that already unprofessional encounter. He could not find her prescription, got her date of birth wrong twice, told me she did not have a prescription there, that she had no refills, and that she could not have a refill for 8 days, all in the same interaction. He did not listen to me at all about what may have happened with the transferred prescription. He essentially threatened me, telling me that he is the "new manager" and that he would refuse to fill my prescriptions (which he was already doing for my daughter). He further said that he would send a message to my daughter's doctor, but that "she probably won't fill it for you since you have refills". He persisted in his rudeness and stunning confrontational customer service. When I asked his name, he first mumbled it in a low voice, then repeated it only after being asked again. He was talking about me in a derogatory way with his pharmacy tech (where I could hear him) throughout my visit. He exhibited the absolute worst customer service I have ever encountered in a professional setting, from the moment I walked up to the counter. His pharmacy tech was mandated by him to complete my transaction (and he did behave professionally). I am not only a customer but am also a medical provider who has prescribed many prescriptions that have been filled by this pharmacy. I will never darken the door of this pharmacy or store again or send any prescriptions there unless a patient specifically requests it. Their overall 2.5 star rating is generous for the actual service you get. The prior pharmacy manager was professional and had good customer service skills. This gentleman's behavior and unprofessionalism in any sense of the word, is not worthy of his profession. Save yourself and take your business where you will be treated with respect. This is not the place where that will happen.

This Rite Aid has awesome staff except for the pharmacist I ent there to get some much needed over the counter medicine and hoping to get a*** I asked the pharmacist a question and HE was super rude as if It was a bother If you aren't happy with your career then changing it would be my recommendation The counter transference that I experienced was highly unprofessional The floor associates and cashiers are amazing but this gentleman has put a sour taste in my mouth. I will think twice before going here which is sad cuz Santa Cruz doesn't have many places where the one serving the community is a prude. He must not be from here.

I have a wonderful experience today with Rite Aid Pharmacy at Soquel Ave., Santa Cruz. I am a care home owner. A new resident just moved in today and had 12 OTC medicine needs to fill up ASAP. I was extremely busy and would not be able to go to different pharmacies to find all meds and also make sure they are the right one to get. Duy, the pharmacy manager took my list and tell me that he would be happy to help me out and I can come back later to pick them up, which I did. One hour later, everything is ready there for me. Duy told me that he took the order but it was his co-worker Jeannie who helped filling them up. I am very touched not only by their professionalism but also their warm hearted attitude for their customers. I will definitely use their services again at Rite Aid! Many thanks to Duy and Jeannie!

Most of the staff are awesome but there is a woman who wears her mask incorrectly tucked under her nose. I pointed out that an uncovered nose defeats the purpose but she just ignored me. I even saw her pull it down completely when talking to a customer. Next time I see her at checkout, I'll go spend my money somewhere else.
