Additionally, there are three disc golf baskets, though tee areas are not clearly marked, encouraging visitors to create their own courses. Overall, Sergeant Derby Park offers a fun, historic, and welcoming environment for skating, sports, picnics, and outdoor fun.
We went there for pickleball. Some female players were friendly, but some very good players are not so much socializing. There are 6 enclosed courts, but several of them have uneven crack lines. It's not too busy while we were there from 10 to 1 on a Tuesday.

Derby is one of the oldest skateparks in the world. Though it was renovated in 2011, it still maintains its original flow and charm. Skating there is a real trip through history, with its flowy snake run and dish/bowl. When in Santa Cruz, it’s a must-shred skate experience. They don’t make ‘em like this anymore.
